This guy seems to be able to clear any boundary with ease and plays some of the biggest shots you will ever see.

Do you think he's currently the hardest hitter of a cricket ball in the world?

It's a tough call. Faulkner also is an amazing hitter. Too many good hitters in world cricket just now to make an accurate judgement.

Seems like so every now on and then he end up socre big in his innings.

I guess so. Sammy and Dhoni are also contenders when it comes to T20s and ODIs. And ofc, never to forget the legend of slogging, our own lala :afridi. Nobody can beat him when he gets going. Maniac.

T. Perera is........does that mean he is a good batsmen ? NOOOO. Is he a decent batsmen ? NOOOOO. Is he the hardest hitter ? Yess. The T20 Final winning hit was actually a six.

He is pretty solid

Far better than any Pak batsman at the moment

Nope, Afridi is the hardest hitter of a ball, a while back there was an all star competition in England hosted by SkySports and there were teams of Aus, Eng and Pakistan and Gilchrist, Afridi and some others competed in trying to hit the ball the hardest bowled from a bowling machine and it was measured by the speed that the ball was hit back with; Obviously Afridi won.

Finch also has good timing so he doesn't flat out miscle it like Afridi does. For all his flaws, this is one criteria where Afridi is king.

Remember those two sixes off Ashwin? Allah hu' Akbar!! :afridi

Oh, I think you're talking about 'Lotte Super Skills'?

Just check out the 2 sixes at the 38 second mark! It's tough to say that anyone else would be able to hit bigger sixes then those!

Chris Gayle still head and shoulders above everyone

Dwayne Smith also hits the ball incredibly hard if not as long!

Two mishits which barely cleared 60 meter boundary and you guys cherish it like :afridi cleared MCG boundary.:yk

Dhoni quite easily. Even his boundaries reach the fence at lightening speed. :msd

Even his mishits go for sixes. That is his power.

Nice to see you guys are still butt-hurt over it though. :yk

Its more to do with the type of bat the person holds closely followed with his natural power and strength.

I dare the likes of Finch to hit such 6 hitting balls with a thinner light-weight bat instead of those huge ones.

:afridi is the pioneer .

There are others also who hit hard but tough to say hardest.

Any on there can hit it hard.

Sammy and dhoni use raw power.

Yes Finchy hits it very hard but doesn't really know where it goes

Finch was always a beast in LOI. He's better than Smith in LOIs for Australia, just behind Warner. Without Finch the Aussie team would get whitewashed by Afghanistan even in Australia.

Finch was a hard hitter , but not that consistent .

right now probably Andrew Russell is the hardest hitter.

What? Finch is not consistent? Dude you trolling? He is easily one of the greatest batsman in T20I history. Averages 43.8 and SR of 156.27. Also owns World record of highest T20I score by a batsman (156 from 63 balls)

This is some awesome innings by him, despite the opposition not being the greatest!

We saw what finc did against ind in 2015 semi final

Stats alone doesn't cement legacy.

Finch is good but most ppl wont call him one of the world's best.

Andre Russell and Lynn are rated higher.

Australia currently sit 2nd on rankings in T20.

What you are indicating is that Finch is without doubt the most incredible T20 player ever to play T20, He alone is the difference between Australia being number two in the world and being down at number 9 or 10. He must be the absolute best player ever to play the game.

We live in a world where hyperbole exists

If people rate Russell avging 15 better than Finch avging 50, they are idiots plain and simple. It's like rating :sa better than :viv, even Afridi would be like :sendoff

Didn't know of that stat. Surprising.

But i doubt you would find many rating Finch ahead of Russell.

Franchise cricket also matters.

Russell is a far bigger deal than Finch.

Should Finch open for Aus in test cricket against India?

With warner and smith unavailable, Australia are lacking some leadership skills and also an attacking batsman. Don't you think it would be better if finch opens against India.

Reasons

1) Can be a good leader to help out Tim Paine
2) Has been in excellent hitting form of late
3) Australia wickets are good for players who pull and cut well. Finch does both of them good and also the ball will not swing that much. He can get Australia of to a good start.
4) Australia might open with Renshaw/Usman khawaja/Travis Head. All 3 are left handers and we have seen what indian fast bowlers are capable of going around the wicket to them.

Any thoughts ?
