Let us admit it, they have done quite well in ODIs recently.

Posting 3 consecutive 300+ scores in India is no joke. They beat Bangladesh in Bangladesh, didn't do too badly against SA in SA(posted 2 300+ scores there too).

Stokes, Woakes, Morgan, Roy, Bairstow, Root are all good batsmen.

Their bowling attack may have not been great, but the next WC will be played in England and they will do much better on home soil.

So will England finally get a chance to win the World Cup in the sport that was invented by it?

Discuss.

Stokes and Woakes....two quality pace bowling allrounders give them the edge definitely...but they are not at all invincible and can crumble under pressure...

I think they are, at home especially England are unstoppable; you will see a glimpse of what they are capable of in the CT. Last time round the team wasn't even as balanced as the current team (yet reached the final in 2013) which has also figured out how to play modern limited overs cricket, am tearing up just visualising Eoin Morgan lifting the World Cup Donal Cozzie after Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes get carried of the pitch in the final after stunning the masses with a spectacular match winning performance in the final.

Definitely, need to handle the pressure situations unlike previous icc tournaments, and maybe not relay on all rounders too much. For example what is Moen role in the side, he's batting at 7 which is not really a role for him and he bowls 6/7 overs in which he costing his side a lot of runs. Why not play a speclist batsmen or a bowler? There bowling is a worry but I think Wood will help them in the bowling department.

Moeen really should've opened the batting today with Hales out. They're underutilising him in LOIs at the moment. He did nothing wrong to be demoted from there after the 2015 World Cup but after Hales and Roy formed their partnership it seems as if England have thrown away the idea of using Moeen as an opener again.

Pakistan could do with him opening the batting for them. :))

Yeah England are definitely hot favourites but I think they're weak under pressure and will probably choke at the Semis.

We could do with some better bowlers tbh. Stokes, Woakes, Moeen and co don't inspire much confidence when it comes to defending low scores but other than that, I see no reason as to why we can't consider England favourites.

Batting Spin allrounder (Moeen)
Bowling Spin Allrounder (Adil)
Batting Fast all rounder (Stokesy)
Bowling Fast Allrounder (Woakesy)

Hales, Roy, Buttler, Bairstow, Root and Morgan are options as genuine batsmen

Anderson, Broad as the only genuine bowlers. Even them currently as ODI bowlers.... I'm not too keen on them. Need at least one more ODI bowler...perhaps Wood.

I think we will know if England can handle the pressure once the tournament starts. Being the host nation and having a gun team is a lot of pressure
