Is every high followed by an extreme low and vice versa when it comes to Pakistan Cricket?

Now that we've won the Champions Trophy do you feel we'll build on this epic triumph or will the predictably unpredictable trend continue? In recent times a high tends to be followed by a low.

With the 2019 World Cup around the corner I hope that is not the case, we do have a good pool of players to work with and management have been on point; lets hope the PCB invest in them long term despite the hiccups along the way because they have earned a long rope.

Hopefully that's not the case. The future looks bright, we've found a great leader in Sarfi, the bowling line-up finally looks settled with clearly defined roles for everyone and we've also found a gem in Fakhar Zaman, the attacking opener we had been looking for after Sharjeel.

Also, for once, I've faith in our coaching staff and even the selection committee. There's definitely a lot of potential, especially considering the average age of this team. Just hope they can fulfill that potential and become a consistent side.

Don't mention the rattle manj again :mv I hope that we can build on the CT success, the PCB will need to play a huge role because the resources are there and management are on point, but with everything in Pakistan cricket it's never that simple :))

I don't know what to say about this.

Generally that's the trend, the highs and lows switching positions. But this tournament was special.

It started at the lowest point you could be in pak cricket: a humiliating defeat against India.

Then came the highs and each high was better than the previous one. The highs kept on coming.

Finally we reached the highest point possible: a dominating win against India in the finals to lift the trophy.

A high greater than any you could get from illegal substances.

We won the 2009 T20 Cup but next year fixing came to light.

The ODI team is looking good now, settled with a good captain. The test team could cause problems without YK and Misbah gone. But lets see.

We're going from strength to strength inshaAllah. The talent pool is very good mashaAllah. Just gotta get the selection right.

Definetly and PCB need to give everyone involved a long rope especially management, there are going to be ups and downs along the way but the likes of Arther and Azhar have proven they are worth the investment because in the end they will return your faith. Inzi will hopefully get better and better to, he has already done a lot better then previous selectors

True, hopefully we find some adequate replacements and we do have some options including the likes of Haris, Usman and Alam. Azhar is doing a fantastic job and has returned the investment in him, one of the most criminally underrated batsman in the world right now and is no bottler like others :kohli who go missing when the ball does a bit as well, Shafiq needs to be more consistent though; these two need to act as the glue which holds our team together like YK/Misbah whilst they groom the youngsters who come in.

I am a bit concerned with the batting line up in tests. Azhar is the prince who will turn King now YK has retired. But we have dropped Sami Aslam and bought in Shezhad. Babar is relatively new and Shafiq is out of form. A big job for Inzi, the coach and the captain to sort out a team which will keep up the good test record we have had in recent years.

Coincidentally this time fixing allegations came before the Champions trophy win.

Sign of an improvement?

Haha, you could say that.

If it's not fixing , it will be infighting or something else. This is Pakistan cricket, it's not just going to end up all rosy after this win.

It's hard to say. I'm over the moon at the improvements in the senior side, but it's papered over a lot of cracks.

1. We don't know how good the depth is.
2. PCB isn't on good terms with most of the Asian boards. Our best friend right now is the ECB.
3. The lack of home cricket is going to continue to be a major opportunity cost as fans would turn out in large numbers for home games in Karachi/Lahore/Islamabad/etc.
4. There's a four month layover till our next series. Is Pakistan going to come back strong or will the upcoming camp be ineffective?
5. Will the team stay fit? And what about the domestic structure? Is it truly bad or is it steadily improving? What about NCA?
