There's just something about the way he walks across the ground, that indicates a leader. Idk, what are your thoughts?

Not at the moment for sure, he first and foremost has to find a regular place in the team. He no doubt is improving everyday as a bowler but his batting hasn't improved one bit from the day he debuted and if anything it has only gone backwards. He has his work cut out and captaincy should be and would be the last thing on his mind.

He’s barely player material right now brother.

You know a few years back, Faheem Ashraf used to be the captain of Faisalabad. He was decent as captain actually. But I agree he needs to prove himself in international cricket first.

Definitely not. We are making it a habit to make those guys captain who are not even guaranteed a first-team place.
And there is nothing in the way he walks. He, Hasan and Shadab are "wonna-be-cool" guys, IMO. Btw, he is one of the most luckiest cricketers I have ever seen.

Needs to establish himself in the team 1st. But don't see any leadership qualities in him right now.

Could be an out of the box choice for IU.

Reread the OP. He can be a leader because of how he walks? :))

Azhar walks like his cat just died and he got a captaincy stint, albeit a terrible one.

I doubt that cuts it, but you do have good intentions, just pulling yer leg.

Yes, but only for a Mohalla team captain at the moment. Funny, the guy is not in the playing 11 most of the time and we are talking about captaincy. :dw

I need to watch some close video clips with special attention to his "walk". :))):)))

In all fairness personality and charisma does affect leadership. But Pakistani fans sadly think that’s the first criteria instead of playing credentials and cricketing acumen.

Afridi had more charisma and personality in his left nostril than Misbah did in his entire being of existence, but under Misbah we rose to number 1 in tests, while Afridi ran off to his mansion in Nazimabad, Karachi MID TOUR from England when Australia smashed us in the one test over there, before we won the next one without him.

Yet you ask any random passerby on the streets of Pakistan who they’d rather have captain and most will say Lala, because “aggressive” :afridi.

Indeed he is - PCB has a glorious history of making specialist captains. He’ll not be the first one to make playing XI as Captain first. Rambo Raza, Latif, Moin, WY, Malik (Test), Afridi (Test), Azhar (ODI) .... we’re first as Captain in XI.

Trend since last 2 years

Make Umar Amin captain as he can speak English
Make Imad Wasim captain as he has looks
Make Ahmed Shehzad captain as he has (fake) accent
Make Mohammad Amir captain as he has swagger

and now
Make Faheem Ashraf captain as he walks like a leader

Looking forward to more gems. :p

hahaha absolutely, I was thinking to comment the same!!

Unless Fahim improves fast, he is going to be done soon -like so many of these bits and pieces all-rounders!

Spot on my friend.
Pak has found best captain in Sarfaraz at the moment, 5 years down groom Babar!!

Bro i like Faheem and think he is here to stay but i cant understand the weird reasons of making someone captain.
What next, make someone captain because his smile is cute? lol

I would rather make Faheem captain of some domestic side first and see from there onwards. Though personally i dont see him as a captaincy candidate for future. We should invest in Fakhar from the available options imo.

He isn't even a decent all-rounder material, let alone captaincy material.

Potentially, but I would want to see him as captain for Islamabad United first.

I think he probably is. Is enthusiastic in the field, has the nouse get the most out of his limited skills. And more importantly, one of the few who seems to get better under coaching (at least his bowling anyway). Usually most of our players either started out good, or just got worse, but Faheem actually improved.

Very little domestic captaincy experience, and struggling to get into this side means he's not really a serious option though.

He has improved a lot in bowling. Needs to start scoring some runs. Not sure about captaincy though.

You never know, who would have thought a few years ago that Sarfaraz Ahmed would be captain.
