Is Faheem Ashraf over-rated?

Started his internstional career well but has deteriorated with bat and ball.

Hard work ahead for him.

Dont we have better options than Faheem Ashraf?

No hate towards Faheem Ashraf but he has been treated like a golden boy. He aint a bowler nor a batsman then whats his role in LOI team?

Person having 11Avg in 18 Odis while 28 bowling avg surely doesnt look bright (if we dont consider the minnows)

If we want to move on from him then waht are the best options for us ?
1. Aamer Yameen

A guy who stormed into our team from no where and performed well on a debut against Zimbabwe but let me rewind in the same match all other players fot failed terribly. He alongwith Malik was rescuing the team and under such condition he played a brilliant knock.

But still he got only 4 Odis and 3inns to bat. In T20is he got only 1 ins to bat where he smashed ( i think boult ) for 15 runs in last over.

And if i remember correctly he was bowling well with the new ball especially against England. But after that he just vanished.

2. Ammad Butt
In last Pakistan T20 cup he was the highest wicket taker with an brilliant avg of 12 and conceded only 193 runs in 35 overs.
Usefull with the bat too. During 2014 semi final of world clup he played a clutch innings so indeed he is a capable batsman but his main power is bowling. And he can bowl good yorkers at the death too.

3. Sohail Akhter
Surely youall know about him a very hard hitter of the ball and can roll his arm too ( Can be a good option for T20is)

I have seen them all for a long time and i can see Faheem is not a good batsman. Cant even take a single against a spinner. Its about time that we should include someone else also in our bench.

Who are other options?

Faheem's decline has begun it seems. Dropped today ...

Not the best shot to play, showing no support to Ian Bell out there!

Today in PSL against Peshawar Zalmi he conceded 27 run in an over.

Thank you Faheem. Pseudo all rounder conceded 27 off one over and let PZ back into the match.

Aamer Yamin has been superior with both bat and ball.

I am sure Mickey has noticed this? Unless he doesn't like Yamin's action or something.

He is a very good bowler, but he needs to score some runs to keep his place in the Pakistan side

Any given day, I'll invest on Amad than Fahim. In a T20 game guy took 2-3 wickets in last overs and as usual, it's bump time in PP.

Faheems bowling is miles ahead of Amad. Amad is still raw and we’ve been saying that about him for the past 3 years which should tell you something.

Amad and Yamin are on the same level as bowlers.

Nothing special about him. Just a bang average cricketer. No skills with the ball and zero game awareness with the bat.

He really shouldn’t be picked for the World Cup if he’s gonna bat like this.

I haven’t seen single good innings from him in LOI cricket since he made his international debut.

Fahim is 5'6", max 7" - outside sluggish UAE tracks he has very little to offer. Take out his 9 wickets at 7, against ZIM, he averages 60@5.5+ economy in all 12 matches he has played against any team ranked 7 or above. Amad has height and he is slightly faster - the investment PAK did for making Faheem all-rounder in last 2 years, half that would have made Amad a much better all-rounder.

What? He’s around 5’10.

Sorry to say but Ammad has lost it, his pace is down and he only bowls slower ones while hia faster ones are 128kph.

You lost me at Faheem is 5’6 smh

And FYI, Amad is not faster than Faheem. I don’t know what cricket you are watching.

He seems to do well at the death and pick up wickets. But doesn’t do much before that point.

Quite a few cheap wickets of late and not much else with bat or ball.

Needs to add consistency to his game.

What a joke to label him as an AR. What self respecting AR possesses the batting numbers Faheem does ?

Just watched the FoW. Cheap wickets as usual - quality batters would have deposited his tame bouncers into the stands. Take a look at the batsmen he dismissed today: Bravo, Sarfaraz, Azam and Tanvir.

Bravo was the only good wicket, but it was far from a good delivery. A very poor all-round cricketer. Below average in every department. The amount of hype that the likes of him and Shadab enjoy clearly illustrates the lack of quality all-rounders in the country.

Obviously, at the measurement of Shaheen being 6'8", Faheem is 5'10" indeed........ that makes Hasan Ali almost 6', because he is an inch or two taller than Faheem.

T20 isn't the place to judge pace always - on this Abu Dhabi wickets, often you bowl the faster under dew, it's easier; he might have reduced pace deliberately. Also, in PSL he is playing probably 2nd game with a 2 weeks gap and those 6-7 overs in 3-4 spells in total - it hardly helps. Just few months back he was definitely 135K+, can't lose that much pace at this age unless he has bunked 12 years in certificate.

What is up with you and heights?

I was with Faheem at a press conference an hour or two ago... I'm ~5'10 and he's a bit taller, so he'll be around 5'10.5 or 5'11.

Only in Pakistan a player who picks up wickets is mocked and criticized. Thank God we have Mickey Arthur and the selectors.

This match in where bowlers were getting smoked, producing such bowling figures shows how good of a t20 bowler Faheem is.
Don't mix his batting with his bowling.

how is that even possible?
Asked fakhar about his height in 2013, and he said 5'11, so if fakhar is 5'11 faheem must be around 5'9

I think we've seen enough of Faheem to stop considering him an all-rounder.

He's a bowler who can bat a bit, like Sohail Tanvir or Anwar Ali..

Faheem showing improvement with the bowl, but we are yet to see anything from his batting. Other than 50 against Ireland he's yet to do anything.

Faheem isn't an all-rounder. He is a decent bowler who can once in a while hit few big ones lower down the order. He is never going to be Azhar Mahmood or Abdul Razzak.
