Over-abused in those fitness drills maybe?
If Amir was fit, he would have bowled two more overs which might have made some difference
They have to be professional.
A 30 years old refusing a 37 years old 3rd double of the over was embarassing to see. The 30 years old was huffing & puffing like no tomorrow.
You're a damn athlete. Please look like it. Look at the Aussie and English players NOT bad examples of other Pakistani players. Why are you comparing with crap???
Inzamam was a crap? Not every nation is made same.
Thats because there energy was spent on drills?
No.
Because they don't train as hard as is required of them. They don't follow balanced sports nutrition. Some are overweight, others are underweight. Only few are relatively fit and only Malik is anywhere close to ideal fitness.
I agree, but everybody got certain genes and limits, you need to understand that. Malik appears fit because its in his genes to appear that. Inzi looked fat for same reason. Fitness is important, but skills are much more. We need our players to spend their energies towards refining skills rather than being fit alone.
I am sorry but a fat obese person has no place in sport.
A bit of exercise to stay fit is hardly any issue.
I run 5-10 km a day and inshAllah I will not suffer from ALS or MS because I kept myself fit.
Its a useless argument and your theory has been debunked.
In fact, laziness and fat obese people have cardiac problems and are more likely to die from cardiac disease before anything else.
Please repeat this after 10-20 years.
Lol.
You think I will die because of this?
I am sorry but you are out of your depth.
Reading 5 articles of research aren't worth anything unless you know the basic fundamentals of muscle metabolism.
Read red muscle fibers and white muscle fibers and the difference and come back an educated man.
Till then, dream on about the nonsense that our players are being abused in fitness.
I am not saying that, you'll probably be living a good life insh'Allah. But please repeat this after 10-20 years.
and studied that, I'll still say that everybody got endurance threshold, not all can take fitness as a piece of cake.
Thats because there energy was spent on drills?
Is this thread a joke? No disrespect to OP but it's like asking if it's bad to smoke. Fitness is required whether you're an athlete or a regular person. I hope OP is joking
You are arguing with an actual doctor
I am quite sure OP was laughing his behind off while seeing Pak players falling right and left in the game against India...Fitness, it is overrated LOL
They wouldn't have done any drills on the day of the game, and the day before they would've went light. If almost a whole day isn't enough for you to energize yourself after some light drills, you're just unfit.
Withbeing the latest victim, this comes into my mind.
Lets look at couple of facts.
Inzamam was never a fit player, but he was a great batsman.
Neither Sarfraz nor Sharjeel are fit, but they're among the finest we got now.
Our injury-rate can possibly be rising due to the fact that we're over-stressing our players with all that fitness crap.
More game load along with fitness drama can not only harm body, but also results in lethargic attitude of players resulting in poor performance.
Our 'fittest' Rizwan is nowhere good with bat, so fitness can't guarantee greatness.
Are we looking in wrong direction? Fitness can surely help when you're reaching a century or you're fielding at tight spot or when bowling 150sh. But putting up this for every single player to that extent, is this even necessary? or its just an excuse used by our incompetent coaches/selectors for their shortcomings?
