What's new

Is Islam the only true religion?

Why does the creator expect you to pray to him X amount of times a day or weak? Why do we have to keep praising the creator at every opportunity? Why does the creator need a place of worship?

Looks like the creator is very petty and childish. Worship me or else I will burn your behind in hell fires. May be the creator is a narcissistic dictator.

What will happen to the people who do not believe in Allah and Muhammad?

You made a claim now back it. Use scripture if you like as this will make your argument solid? Once you have backed up your claim, I will then respond. Dont run away after making bold claims, you wont be taken seriously.

I see it differently, I am very happy the Creator gave me an amazing life as a human being and all the blessing which come with it. By praying to him, its for our benefit not his, it gives us peace and happiness and wanting to be closer to him is natural.

Only Muslims will know how it really feels to be close to God, it's a feeling you will never know if you are not a Muslim.

Pagans and idolaters commit shirk as they worship lowly earthly things like animals and stones. If you commit Shirk, you go to hell.

Why is it always Indians, athiests or anti religous people on this forum who think they know more about Islam than the Muslims themselves lol.

Please refrain from making up things you have no idea of. Shirk cannot be forgiven but you dont know what Shirk is and there is nothing to say those who have done Shirk will go to hell and nowhere else.

If you want to aks questions with an open and unbiased mind fine but please refrain from making up things about other peoples religions.

Here you go. Don't tell me you know more than the Sheikh in the video.

No need to run away because the Koran has several verses talking about unbelievers going to hell.

"And we shall present Hell that day for Unbelievers to see, all spread out." Kahaf - 100

Here you go. Don't tell me you know more than the Sheikh in the video.

There a hundreds of thousands of scholars with different viewpoints. Again please refrain from feeling you know more about Islam than Muslims themsleves, stick to Hindusim.

I know believing in one God is the first pillar of Islam and Allah will forgive everything but shirk. This is what every Muslim beliefs.

Ok good ,please go into detail regarding this . Which people is this referring to? All non Muslims? Note there are also many different translations of a verse.

I get it, according to blind defenders like you:

ISIS using a different interpretation of a verse - Wrong! That's not the literal meaning.

Me using a different interpretation - Right! Go for the literal meaning.

Expected answer from you. Hiding behind differences in interpretations and only this scholars opinion bla bla bla..

Don’t act like you know more than the learned Arab Sheikh who spent his whole life studying the religion.

Just accept that non believers and pagans are roasted in hell fires.

This so called scholar (Hamza Yousuf) is not even taken seriously by the majority of Muslims. Funny, our friend had to use him.

I should accept what an Indian says who has no knowledge of Islam? lol. The video I posted is also of a learned man who has spent much of his life stuyding.

Will get back to you on this after my lunch.

The world has a population of 7.53 billion people out of which 5.5 billion people are non-Muslims. That's a lot of people who will be going to hell according to Islam. If you include numbers from the past, you will end up adding several billion more people who will be tormented for eternity.

Does it sound right to you? Does it sound fair to you?

People like Einstein, Tesla, Hawking, etc. will be going to hell because they did not believe in Allah and Muhammad? They will burn in fire for eternity which is a very very very long time (think of universe as 14 billion years old) for a life that did not last 100 years? What kind of God will torture his creation for eternity? The irony on top is that the same God is supposed to love you more than 70 moms. I am yet to meet a parent who is so hateful of their kids that they want them to suffer for trillions of years.

No, Islam is not a true religion, neither is any other. All religions are just tools to control people. Religions enslave you and crush free-thinking. In true words of Christopher Hitchens, religion poisons everything.

The narration of God loving his creation more than 70 moms is a fabrication.

Secondly yes majority of mankind will go to hell, this is pretty clear from the narrations and observable reality ( most of the world is non muslim).

Lastly regarding whether this is fair or not, since there is no possible way for God to be unjust, everything he does is fair and just.

there are two issues which i see in most religions.

God knows everything. If you are given the option X and Y, God knows which option you will choose dictated by your "free will." So, if God knows everything, then what's the meaning of this tests in life? Since God already knows the answer, send the people to heaven or hell and further save the people from agony that they have to carry in a meaningless test where result is already known to the judge.

Second, the religion is for people. The basic pillars of a religion shouldn't be so hard that it is impossible to understand by a common people who has to go to a scholar in order to get an interpretation. This imply, its about creating a lobby. A lobby which will decipher the meaning in their own suitable way (if that wasn't the case, all the scholars would have had same view point) to suit some agenda. That also seems cruel. Let's face it, God would have made the guidelines clear enough so that there shouldn't be any ambiguity and even a illiterate person can follow his rules.

Please give examples of where I have insulted Islam and Muslims. If they are actual insults, I will admit to them and if they are not, I will try to explain. As far as generalisations are concerned, there is always a hint of truth in every generalisation.

I'd have to do a bit of digging but beyond that it is the general sort of feeling I get from you, I don't have a problem with your views but think unless someone is displaying extremist tendencies then it is a bit harsh to attack them for a view which is different to your own and also not expect retaliation for example

I gave you a verse straight from the Koran and you are still asking me to back it up.

Then perhaps God is not as benevolent as we are told. No merciful God can condemn majority of his creation to eternal torture.

Since mercy like everything else is a creation of God, we would not know mercy if God did not create it, thus it is unimaginable to compare the mercy we see amongst ourselves to the one who created mercy.

The mercy which we see amongst ourselves and around us is only 1 part of God mercy that he has sent down the other 99 parts he has reserved for Judgement day ( according to the hadith).

Typical. What has me being Indian got to with knowledge? Anyone with internet connection and some interest can study Islam now. It is open to every one and we all can see the truth.

Anyways, Suprised that a simple question as to whether a pagan or idolater or non-muslim go to hell/heaven has so no straight answer.

How can God's final words to humanity given in a perfect book with no inconsistencies cannot answer a simple question like above. How can there be so many interpretation? You ask some question, the answer is never straight. If they do not have any answer, they say that we have to understand Arabic, its a Shia interpretation, the answer is twisted, misguided.....

Verses have context, what is the context of the verse you posted? Does it apply to all Non-Muslims?

You have to be kidding me if you do not accept that anyone who refutes the existence of Allah or associate anyone else with him will go to hell. Is not it the first pillar of Islam?

First of all you have to proof that God exists. Second, you have to prove that he created a thing called mercy. How do you then define mercy? What sets the benchmark for morality?

Bottom line is, according to KKWC, you can be a kafir and still go to heaven if you are a good person. So no need to convert to Islam. :salute

Its up to God who enters into paradise and who doesn't. Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't understand the religion. There are no inconsistencies, you just want them to be.

The first pillar is the decleration of faith.

If you totally reject it after knowing it properly and end up dying in a state of disbelief then it's fair to assume you will not get the rewards but again no person can say what God will do or what he wont.

Why are there so many interpretations if the word of God is crystal clear and unaltered?

So we do not have to convert to Islam to enter Jannah? Good to know.

Its human nature to interprete things differently. The main pillars which are the only things required to attain success are cystal clear to all. No matter what sect a Muslim is they all pray, fast, give charity and go to Hajj.

If you reject the truth being made aware, would you still accept to get the rewards after dying?

He's completely wrong. I was a Muslim once. What he has been saying is completely opposite to what the 99% of the Muslims belief.

Do not try to be politically correct. At least own the religion you believe in.

You struggle with a simple debate, I dont know why you bother. Your logic now is you were a Muslim so know better lol

Then perhaps its time to move on with your life. Why spend masses of time discussing something you have rejected? Haven't you wasted enough of your life already?

First of all you have to proof that God exists. Second, you have to prove that he created a thing called mercy. How do you then define mercy? What sets the benchmark for morality?

Instead of changing the topic of discussion, please explain to me how God can be unfair or unjust as you say?

It is better to oppose something that you have rejected rather than believing in something but still not able to own it.

Just one example, Noah's flood. It wiped out everyone. If the story was true, it was an extremely cruel act. There must have been innocent children, babies, animals, etc. who were killed. How was it just to punish children for the sins of their elders?

Nope. Quran claims to be the final revelation and the best book. But if no one understands it, then there is something wrong with it.

If there are so many interpretations, it means God failed again in delivering his message to humans. He failed with Torah, he failed with Injeel and same appears to be with Quran.

To be a Muslim you have to accept that there is only one God Allah and Muhammed is his final and last messenger. If I do not accept that and only pray , fast and give charity, I am still a Kafir. Kafirs are no accepted in heaven. No ifs and buts about it.

Basically you have to be a Muslim to go to Heaven. It is the minimum and basic requirement.

I was told that it was just a fable and you should not treat it literally.

It is better to oppose something that you have rejected rather than believing in something but still not able to own it.

But you're not doing a very good job of it. Smarter people than you have tried and failed, what makes you think you have written a single sentence on here which has had any effect for your great cause? Isn't it better to spend your YOLO doing something which makes you happy? I dont get it. I dont believe in many things and dont spend time discussing them.

Again, why are you ignoring my point? Every Muslim on the planet undestands the five pillars. If you do all 5 you are fine. So God hasnt failed.

You're clueless, many Non-Muslims can still go to heaven, this is accepted by most too. If of course you out right reject it as you do, then you can't expect it anyway.

Btw what do you believe in?

That is not injustice, think about it logically how can God be unjust when he is the creator of everything, so it is his right to do with his creation as he wills.

If he put all his creation in the hellfire it would still be just.

This debate below explains it well.

the debate between Al-Qadi `Abdul Jabbaar of the Mu`tazilite sect, and the great Imam of the Sunnis of the time, Abu Ishaq Al-Isfaraayini . When the two met, `AbdulJabbaar said, “Exalted is Allah, who transcends the obscene.” (While this is a sound expression, what he meant to say was that Allah does not create evil. This is blasphemous, because Muslims must believe that Allah is the only creator, as it is stated in the Quran that He created everything, and that no one wills anything except by His Will.)

Imam Al- Isfaraayini (418 AH) realized what he had implied and responded, “Exalted is Allah, who nothing happens in His dominion but by His Will.” The Mu`tazilite then made another attempt and said, “Does our Lord like to be disobeyed?” Al-Isfaraayini quickly replied, “Could He be disobeyed against His Will?” Upon that `Abdul Jabbaar tried again to defeat his adversary and said, “If God denied me guidance, then ruled that I be destroyed for it, has He treated me fairly?” Al-Isfaraayini calmly answered, “If He denied you something that was yours, then He would have been unfair, but if it was not rightfully yours, then Allah does with His creation what He wills.” `Abdul Jabbaar fell silent, and could not argue further. After all, Allah is the true owner of all creation. (V.4/ P. 261-262. Tabaqaat-al-Shafi`iyyat-al-Kubra).

You can know fate of pure-soul righteous non-believers in chapter 7. Basically, Heaven is not exclusive to Muslims.

Did any of the so called Prophets before Muhammed pray to Allah? Did they say Allahu Akbar? They believed in Yahweh as the supreme lord. Unless you mean to say that Allah = Yahweh.

Allahu Akbar is an arabic phrase meaning Allah is great. Jesus said in the garden of gethsemene "Elahi Elahi lama sabaktani" My God my God why have you forsaken me. and Yes all prophets A.S before my dear prophet Muhammad PBUH prayed to Allah.

Its all about upbringing. Can you publicly say in a Muslim country that you doubt the existence of God?

Yes you can, Allah says countless times that these are the signs for the people of intellect or people who think. So, I congratulate people who are athiest even though your parents are not. You don't have to blindly follow your ancestor's path this was the biggest problem when prophets came to their nations, people were just following the footsteps of their ancestors. It is not faith it is "blind faith".

Because the main purpose of life was to worship Him not to get involved in life issues and forget your creator. Also even if all Muslims stop praying, He doesn't need them. Because He's Absolute. Allah says in the Quran:" People torture themselves not Allah". Also prayer is remembrance of Allah's words.

Thats a very dangerous proceeding you are going to.

A baby could be legally murdered by his parents because it was their sperm and egg who has created the offspring.

What you should do is, instead of bringing logic, you could just say that
, it is your faith and you will have to believe it no matter what. God is above human logic and human interpretation.

Otherwise you will be giving away too much dangerous examples.

You can not compare the two since, the parents can be held accountable for their deeds by God, no one can take account of God since no one can impose any moral standard on God.

KingKhanWC is correct.

The division of good people and bad people is the primary purpose of the Day Of Judgment. There is some variant on the Day Of Judgment Day in the eschatology of every Abrahamic religion.

Almost every perceived “sin” is forgivable for starters. And ultimately, if God is omnipotent, then it holds that it is up to Him to take a balanced decision - even in the case of a bad person who rejected the religion.

One does not have to be an [insert believer type here] to receive the citizenship of Heaven. Obviously it helps - but at the same time, righteous non-believers who have done good deeds will also be admitted - meanwhile those believers who have used the religion to spread evil, as well as the hypocrites and the charlatans, will be declined, and drop into Hell. (Even the declines will have a later chance to repent and enter Heaven.)

This concept has been around for at least 6,000 years or so, when the earliest Jews spread the message that one does not have to receive the “correct birthright” or “convert” to receive the golden ticket. In Judaism, one who is not Jewish but lives a good life and obeys “The Seven Laws of Noah” (which are a small set of extremely basic human morals) will be considered by God as a Righteous Gentile and granted a place in the World To Come.

Christianity and later Islam understood this evolving principle as being expressed through the Day Of Judgment.

You can not compare the two since, the parents can be held accountable for their deeds by God, no one can take account of God since no one can impose any moral standard on God.

Thats what i said. Its your faith and not logic.

You tend to fine "Ex-Muslims" spend more time discussing Islam than Muslim scholars do, you could just read through the reams of topics and essays they have posted in their various guises on here down the years. That is of course assuming they are actually who they say they are. Seen them on every Pakistani site you could mention, chiming along with their Hindu friends. Just a coincidence I'm sure. You could ask why they don't spend so much time discussing Hindu religion, but maybe it's just too confusing for them to bother with.

Personally if I was an ex-Muslim the last place I would want to be on is a Pakistani site talking about Islam. Get a life already.

Essentially the people you refer to feel guilty leaving Islam. Their choice, but I agree *Ex-Muslims* spend more time discussing Islam, posing the very questions which lead them to leave Islam, in hope others will fail to provide an answer, thus validate their decision to leave.

It's basically insecurity and compensation psychology in one.

It seems like you are using different criterion for God because the concept that since you created something you have the right to abuse it is not just in any sense of the word.

And Naoh spent 950 years calling his people to God Imagine these many years still when he was building the ship they mocked him saying he's a madman. for children, anyone who dies before gaining maturity will go to heaven. Same thing applies to babies who die on birth.

First of all, the story of Noah is fictional. There is no boat in the world that can carry all the species of animals. Neither is there so much water on this planet that it could cover all the mountains.

Second, the number of years he preached is irrelevant. Innocent kids and animals were killed. Whether they go to heaven or hell is a separate discussion. They did suffer due to the flood. This is a very dangerous way of thinking that any suffering in this world is fine as long as you get to heaven.

This is a Pakistani site where majority of the posters are Muslims. The topic of the thread is also "Is Islam the only true religion". Why would then someone discuss Hinduism? Open a new thread on Hinduism if you want to see people bashing it.

Hinduism is a philosophy actually. You can worship anything (be it Allah) and still be a Hindu. So technically, a Muslim is also a Hindu as per Hinduism so is a Christian. This said, all religions are men-made to control people. All religions including Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, etc. provide zero evidence for their claims. All religions have fairy tales like talking snakes, global flood, gods with many heads, etc.

Yes, everyone who engages in any constructive debate on religions including Islam is insecure. The likes of Dawkins, Hitchens, Harris, Dennett, Krauss, etc. are just trolls wasting their time.

Thanks. As an "ex-Muslim" I found your rationalising of Hinduism most enlightening, although as predicted in my earlier post, not that surprising. It would be nice to have more threads debating the religion of Hinduism, in fact I already did start a thread but not that many felt motivated by it for some reason.

Are Allah and Yahweh the same ? I don’t think so.

Also, Jesus called Yahweh as Father. He always referenced Yahweh as Father. Can we call allah as Father?

Allah to me is an Arab God. Allah was residing in Kabah before Muhammad made him the only true God. All Muhammad did was kee Allah and destroy all other idols. Hard to buy into the theory that all Prophets below were praying to Allah when nobody ever mentioned the name of Allah or Kabah before. Allah and Kabah only came into prominence after Muhammad. Did Jesus ever visit Kabah? Did Moses ever visit Kabah? They never said Allah either.

recitation vs content?

There are different words which makes the meaning different and content different. Let me know if you want examples...

Also Quran was published couple of decade after Prophets death through the deliberation of lots of companions of the prophet.. Hardly sounds like an act of God.

Its all about upbringing. Can you publicly say in a Muslim country that you doubt the existence of God?

There is no questioning the faith in Islam. Islam is bigger than anyone according to Muslims. Their teachings are taken seriously and are believed that no other texts come closer to the quran. In my background Tamil, the language is very old, there are tons of literature that have been passed down that teach you how to live and let live. Therefore religion takes a step back in Tamil Nadu. Pretty sure it is the same for Sri Lanka in tamil areas. Also Hinduism and its practices are subjective, if you ask what is the holy book of Hindus in Tamil Nadu most will fail to answer. Our Hinduism is different than the mainstream North Indian Hinduism.

I heard someone else also mention this during my time in Southern India. Is tamil version of hinduism different from north indian (vedic) hinduism? How so? I have never lived in the north of India except for short visits, and I find this interesting.

From a religoous point of view, you will see different practices, sometimes even contrasting ones, in dofferent places be it in north india or south india. The only common factor that you may find is, all are hindus. Some hindu branches prohibits people going to durga puja or temples. But they too are hindu.

I do like the fluidity in how they have structured - "EFF" to any of those religious whackos with rigidity and claim "my way or the highway" even on paper. I do hope that they also practice the fluidity and openness in practice and it is not just in paper.

I have heard Sufi version of Islam is also similar in fluidity, would be great to get some thoughts on that as well.

Anyone care to respond to this? KingKhanWC and other knowledgeable posters?

Are Allah and Yahweh the same thing? Oh my, I'm crying in laughter.

Allah and Yehweh mean God but in different languages. Allah in Arabic, and Yehweh in Hebrew.

And before people claim Jesus called Yahweh as father, I suggest said people read the Bible in Aramaic!

Frankly if people do not understand the fact that something can be described in multiple languages, makes you wonder how these people can speak multiple languages to describe one thing!

Oh the torture!

Nice job beating around the bush. Are Allah and Yahweh the same God? Answer in Yes or No.

What about Bible in Aramaic? Do you read Aramaic? Silly argument.

Resounding YES!

I didn't beat around the bush, you clearly have not read the Torah, Bible, and the Qur'an dare I say.

Keep it up. Don't expect others to provide you closure for you misunderstandings and insecurities. You have your own brain, use it once in a while.

Allah SWT has 99 Names. Is Yahweh one among them?

He has 99 names in Arabic, and more in other languages.

Which part are you not understanding?

Please read the Torah, Bible, and the Qur'an so you have some understanding of what Abrahamic faith is (all pray to the SAME god).

Honestly.

Nope. Not true.

This.

Preaching their believes while criticizing other for doing the same.

Kingkhan, which verses in bible and Torah are corrupted?

There was never a word called Muslim before Muhammad showed up. It’s like me coming up with a new religion and claiming to be Abrahamic and say that all Prophets were xyz and I am the final prophet. Proof is nothing. But I present them a book that I wrote.

Again show me where in Bible and Torah was Allah and Kabah are mentioned.

If I go to Mecca or any Mosque and say yahwehu akbar, I will never see daylight again. Don’t be naive. Muslims will be the first ones to reject Yahweh outright.

Yes, Islam is a true religion. Even though I was born in a very islamic household wherever everyone prayed 5 times a day. However, by nature, I was not into religion. By nature I was very liberal. I always used to question the existence of God. I always asked God could you show me your existence. I wanted to feel your existence. One day it happened to me. It was more like an electric shock sort of experience after that I got fever for a week. People may call me a nutjob but I felt something out of ordinary that I could not put itno words.

Some of the incidents occured in my life that had led me to believe in the existence of God. I think I believe he has the ability to do anything if he wants. Something that defies logic.

Seems you are confused. Allah is simply an Arabic word for god. Same way Khuda is the Persian word for God. They mean the same thing.

Read post mentioned #226. Also "Hinduism" and all the ** caste nonsense was brought by Brahmins from North India when our Kings for some reason brought them over as they believed they can talk to god. You will rarely see people worship Ram for example. Shiva is the #1 god technically, origin of Shiva's son Murugan is barely worshipped in the North. Bunch of gods/goddesses just got mixed together. If you go to rural villages, they will have their own gods.
