Is it time for Mohammad Haris to depart from Peshawar Zalmi?

Fakhar has been killing it in the PSL two seasons in a row before this season. Why are you guys making excuses for him not to open??!
Fakhar zaman averages as an opener before he was dropped.
Year 18/19 13.57
Year 2019. 7
Year 19/20 2
Year 2020 18

Not sure how can come with sort of averages for year could be brought back as an opener?

So then how else is he supposed to prove he is an opener? He scored 500 runs two seasons in a row when Qalandars won the title. What else is he supposed to do????

I’m glad this time your responded back. Last time you chickened out when I should you which players of other teams have played at different positions. He should continue playing at number 3 and number 4 spot that suits the most, since he has been a failure at international level opening the innings.

Ok

And Pakistan can continue to suck as a cricket team. That’s how we will roll

Pakistan cricket won't see improvement if individuals believe that appointing Harris or Asif Ali as captain is the solution.
Says who? The one who doesn’t want it to improve anyways by backing mediocrity??

Harris with the highest score of 31 is epitome of quality?
Even a 5 year old won’t come up with such a nonsense.
So Mathew Hayden was a 5 year old nonsense guy who forced Pakistan to play Harris in the T20 World Cup????

Something is cooking?

Mohammad Haris is not following Peshawar Zalmi on X. I am not sure if he was following them in the past or not. Cannot see the name of Peshwar Zalmi here.

He follows them on instagram though. I wouldn't read too much into such things because usually their accounts are being run by media managers and not by them.

If there is one thing Haider Azhar can do right, is to get the trade done for Mohammad Harris and make him the captain of Karachi Kings.

I would give Irfan Khan Niazi for him. Rebuild your side with Mohammad Harris as your captain.

Bhai let me move away from Karachi first then you can suggest this disaster. As Karachiites we r already suffering with Sir Shan Bradman so I cant handle another heart attack. :p :ROFLMAO:

You are being overzealous here, but yeah KK would take anything good.

The talent is there and the fearless approach.

However, he needs time in FC to hone his skills of scoring runs and not just the odd 20 runs.

Learning the art of scoring hundreds and staying at the crease in 4-day cricket will be massive for his development.

Mohammad Haris ignored and not made part of the 15 member Pakistan Squad for the T20 WC 2024.

Very unfortunate

Let’s see who bails Pakistan out this time

Like he has been carrying our number 1 side for which he was especially accommodated in
Sorry bro I can't resist I just wanna do this again. Here goes.

Rizwan will surprise you this time, mark my words and bookmark this post when Pakistan reaches the final, Rizwan scores the 100 and hits the winning shot.

Explains the perfect English in their tweets.

Maybe it’s time for this guy to move to USA and become eligible for them in 3 years.

He has no future in Pakistan cricket. They don’t want players like him. They want guys like Haseebullah

I'm a big fan of Haris but he has done absolutely nothing to warrant selection. He had a bad PSL, he flopped in the Emerging Asia Cup against India and Sri Lanka, and did nothing in the Champions Cup.

It's amazing how certain deluded posters use the Champions Cup when it suits their narrative but completely forget it when it doesn't. Atleast stay consistent.

I'm gonna assume you're referring to me since I'm the only one that constantly brings up Champions Cup or at the very least, mentions it more frequently then the rest.

Did you see me placing Haris' Name in my team of the tournament for that cup?

He’s the only 360 player I know off in Pakistan, if you aint picking him in the final team he should be in the squad regardless and maybe play a dead rubber here and there, if somebody is out of knick, you can help them, this lot do little in that regard to help him when he is out the team and therefore least they can do is keep him with the squad, talk about demoralising a player of his potential it’s just such a waste. But this regime is more about picking players who they get along with and want to tag along for evening meals, this Haseeb fella poses no threat to the seniors whatsoever and they pick guys who they know can’t replace them even if they suffer an injury.

Look I think he's a highly talented player but fact is that he has done nothing in the last year. If an unestbalished player like that isn't even performing in domestic you can't select him. It's unfair to the guys that are performing because they have earned a right to be ahead in the pecking order.

Sometimes being overlooked is the best thing that can happen to a player because it gives them motivation to prove everyone wrong.

Do you just discard a player of his potential and invest in resources which have next to no upside, there’s no forward thinking or leadership there. Like I said, you don’t want him there for the key games or whatever, but what’s the plan from here for Mo. Harris? It’s not like you shake a tree in Pakistan and players of his potential fall off trees imo unless am out of touch with the talent and am in for a shocker in Australia with the new blokes playing like Butler

you seem like someone who values runs in big games. This guy has been backed quite a bit played lots of emerging cup matches vs India. Yet to make the most and perform on the big stage. Not saying Haseebullah is better, but this guy needs to deliver.

If a guy isn't even performing in domestic, conventional wisdom dictates that he will not perform in international cricket either. This is not discarding, if he performs well in domestic he should be selected. But his numbers in the past year are quite poor and don't warrant selection for the national side. I agree with your larger point about our inability to nurture talent and give special focus to players that have something special. But at the end of the day, this is a sport and there is no excuse for lack of performance.

I value guys who I know can do the job and play for their team first.

I agree Harris has had some poor shot selection of late, but he still wants to play cricket the way Pakistan needs it to be played.

As I said, I don’t think Pakistan is the right place for him, it’s a nation obsessed with the final outcome in terms of how many runs made but doesn’t give two hoots about strike rate or impact.

When a high impact player fails, you replace him with one that is similar when it comes to that impact…maybe the replacement will come off.

In Pakistan, the high impact player is replaced with the safest and most cowardly option. They don’t look to improve, they want to go backwards!

Pakistan isn't the right place for anyone

That’s the thing. That’s the most Misbah/SNGPL/Markhors thing to do.

Either throw him at number 7 or replace him with someone that really makes no difference if they play or don’t play.

It is for 1970s players bro
More like 1800's. Viv, sunny(excluding that one 36 of 174 game which he gets memed on), Zaheer, were playing much much faster in the 70's then the current crop, Even though that was test 🤣🤣.

Heck bradman era batters were playing faster.

Their isnt a single era where you will find modern era pakiatani rubbish

Am not sure you’re understanding my point, I’m recognising the recent performances and I’ve said you can justify not picking him, but I feel it’s a cop-out as well not having a way forward with him, and I’ve said it’s no harm to try him in the dead rubbers once Pakistan have lost the series or maybe give him a chance or two if it arises in Zimbabwe, I am suggesting this because it keeps the moral up keeping him in the squad and also because there’s no system in place to ensure or help Harris can rediscover his form.

Those are fair points but the lad needs to play those impacful innings now and then on the big stage. Check out his last two emerging Asia Cups. He even bottled it in that low grade t20 series in Aus. Filled his pockets vs UAE and bottled vs India and Srilanka.

He may want to play cricket the way Pakistan needs it to be played, but he can't deliver.

Stuff like that is best done behind closed doors. And it is their responsibility to do that. But selecting him in the squad sends the wrong message because while you or I may think he is talented, not everyone else may feel feel that way, least of which the players playing domestic cricket and performing better than him. Pakistan has not had a way forward for much more talented players so its futile to expect they would have one with him. But at the same time he bears some responsibility too for where he is at right now.

This guy is another version of Shahid Afridi who just dont want to use his brain while playing... just want to smagh everything like a hulk! now sit peacufully at home and sell samosas in bulk.

Yes Harris has been in shocking form but he was horribly mistreated during Wahabs tenure and dropped when he shouldn't have been.

He is a good keeper, can bat ( even though he has been horrible recently) and should have been with the squad for the past few years as a back up keeper.

Needs to play FC and pile on the runs. He won't improve until he gets regular FC cricket. KP realised this when he stopped playing FC and lost rhythm in his batting.
