The only rest day they get is Monday, which will be anything but restful. The captain will be occupied with press conferences, while the team will be busy preparing for the big game.

A lot has been said about India’s so-called advantage of playing all its matches in Dubai. But no one seems to be talking about the fact that India will be playing the semi-final with just a one-day gap, which is a significant disadvantage

Final is a week away because we are not sure where the final will be played. It will be decided after the India semi final. So the ground staff and authorities need enough time to prepare the venue for the finals.

Another classic example why hybrid model is not suitable and why Moshin Naqvi should never have accepted it. Pls dnt get surprised if this is the first and last tournament with hybrid arrangements.

There are reports that both Aus and SA players were unhappy that they had to be stationed in Dubai last evening fully knowing one team have to fly back to Pakistan after the Ind vs NZ game. This kind of arrangement and logistic is nightmare and I am 100% sure there will no longer be any hybrid ICC event going forward. Forget Ind or Pak, dnt think any other team will agree to it.

Agree, but you need to understand the dilemma of the ICC as well. India generates the majority of the revenue that essentially runs the ICC. As a result, they tend to give India the best slots, venues, and dates to maximize earnings.

However, this sometimes works in India's favor and sometimes backfires. For example, the one-week break during the WT20 2021 disrupted India's momentum, but the ICC scheduled it that way to prioritize weekend viewership. Similarly, in WC 2023, India was the only team that had to play all nine games in different venues, traveling across the country due to high demand, while teams like Pakistan were comfortably based in Chennai.

The only way this will change is if other teams become more marketable—which they currently are not. Pakistan is performing like a minnow, Bangladesh remains a minnow, Sri Lanka and West Indies are past their prime, and England and South Africa are in decline. Afghanistan is an exciting emerging team, but they cannot play at home for obvious reasons. Apart from India, no other team is truly marketable in world cricket.

More to do with revenue than handing out cricketing advantage. If Pakistan team had such kind of revenue generating potential they would have enjoyed similar advantage. India vs Zimbabwe match had an attendance of 87000 at the G in world t20, 2022. More crowd there than for some of the Australian matches. This benefits ICC which in turn benefits countries who are in financial trouble. India team played at 10 different venues in 2023 world cup. Nobody else did that. BCCI didn't shoe any favoritism.

Aus marketing is pretty much maxed out. And they do a really great job on it. But its still pretty miniscule without additional major growth potential. Compare that to say Pak , Ban - massive populations, cricket #1 sport , lots of growth potential. WI - can cater more to the US market as opposed to WI market. Eng - they do a bad job honestly at marketing it. SA - growth potential still there with the new SA20 league, higher player salaries etc..

I disagree with it being maxed out, but I do agree on it not being a priority. AFL and other events are more important.
