Don't want to jinx him but in the odi series he is getting the shape away from the right hander which is making him much harder to predict also his average pace is 5-7 kmph higher in Australia then what he was bowling in England.

Maybe its just the white ball effect but its good to see there is improvement there and gives hope he may once again discover his pre ban magic oneday. Even Starc first gained mastery on the white ball before translating it to test cricket. So its baby steps for now I guess.

One thing he should do more is vary his length and look to target the stumps more often he has the pace for it maybe its Misbah tactics but he is not suppose to be a L&L merchant which he tries to do too much in test cricket.

His Odi form has been fine since comeback. The test form is still not there.

his method of operation is wrong he is not a L&L merchant aka Hazelwood that he tries to be in test cricket pre-ban he bowled much more aggressive lengths.

Never lost it.

A lot also depends on how the air is behaving.

in England he never got the shape over here in Australia during tests did it albeit consistetly however in odi's its happening regularly maybe you are right but I think it has to do with rhythym or a different colored ball.

It is just the white ball he is swinging away. Remember T20 vs India in Bangladesh ?

He is definitely improving. It will take time and he will be back to his best.

The white ball generally swings more especially when it's new, the red ball lasts longer but doesn't swing as much except the Dukes in England & SG when it's reversing in India.

At Test level he's bowling slightly too short.

He needs to pitch it up a bit more because that's kind of bowler he is. Look for LBWs and bowled - he was bowling the perfect length more often than not pre ban but let's remember he Had Asif on his side who quickly figured out the right length and must have given him handy tips.

Since his return, he has been poor in Tests and decent in Limited Overs, so I won't look too much into this series.

He has been emphatically impact-less in Tests and I'm not interested in the excuses, so I'm looking forward to how he fares in the Caribbean and beyond.

Do you ever have anything positive to say about Pakistan cricket and any of our players? You seem to always predict negative results when we play, and whenever someone does well you are always downplaying their achievements.

If spelling out facts = negativity, then I'm sorry to disappoint you. Besides, I'm not making any negative predictions here, just stating the obvious i.e. Amir has been respectable in LOs but poor in Tests.

Whether he will remain poor in Tests, I don't know, but what I do know is that he needs to improve a lot and that too quickly, if he is to justify the absurd amount of hype.

The air has no effect on how fast the ball is being released from your hand.

I do not think that they measure the speed this way.

Check the speed of half volley /yorker vs the speed of bouncer and you would notice a considerable difference.

IMO, they just divide the distance between the crease by the the time from the bowler's release to batsman crease.

He is back to his old rhythm and pace, bowling consistently around 142-145 and now putting the ball in right area. Not surprisingly took him about a year after the comeback but he is there now.

I haven't seen him bowl in this ODI series, but I certainly hope he is getting it to move away without having to scramble the seam.
