Whilst I agree that Hafeez's career is nearing its end but I don' think Sohail keeps Hafeez out.
If anything it should be Malik looking over his shoulder.
Last two matches of the CT, Hafeez bowled more overs and made more runs and you're only as good as your last game.

I think haris has scored something like 6 50s and a 40 odd in 7 of last his 8 ODI matches. He needs to be inducted in the side soon.

i do feel the same and MA will go with IMAD as he is the younger and equally decent with the ball..

the thing that goes wrong about hafeez was his S/R in batting and he is adamant to play slow.

Yeah I think Hafeez will be chucked out for Haris, Haris is a better middle order batsman. I honestly think Azhar's the weaker link but Azhar's a bit younger and is a gun at tests, it's a bit strange to play only one format. And I don't think Hafeez can open anymore. Ideally I'd replace both Azhar and Hafeez, and I'd keep Malik as he looks in decent form and has the best record out of the three in recent years SR and Average wise despite by far the worst in CT.

Let's not forget Haris Sohail actually was in the CT squad. So nothing wrong with squad rotation within that squad. Can pick the 11 on a horses for courses basis; on UAE pitches I guess we can try and fit in many spinning all rounders and 1 less pacer. Hafeez' amazing innings in CT final has cemented his place for another 1-2 series.

Haris was never a bowler but was forced to turn into one when Ajmal and Hafeez got banned for chucking. Still his bowling is surprisingly good for a part-timer but he shouldn't be a main bowler if that's what we want. Hafeez can still play ODI's given he performed good in his last game but I don't see him lasting long.

Haris is quality but can’t have him while Malik and sarfraz are there let alone professor. I doubt those two will be dropped

As you said we need a hitter. My hope was for Talat but the Professor isn’t even picking him in first class

Harris inclusion should end Hafeezs international career. With the World Cup being in England, there isn't a need to have 3/4 spin bowling all rounders. I would rather go with Harris as he offers much more with the bat then Hafeez. Hafeezs bowling is hardly utilised due to him becoming less effective with his new action.

Hafeez should only bat at no.6 - which was his CT final role and he carved out a late order dash that few others could do for Pakistan (we had no hard hitters). He showed he has all the shots in the book and is an aggressive batsman when given a free hand. The way he took on Bhuveshnar Kumar, took him apart like he was Chetan Sharma. That was one of the best Mohammad Hafeez knocks I have ever seen. Either that or he should retire.

Hafeez should have been eliminated from the side long time ago. I don't see him going until after the 2019 World Cup. But if he continues not perform than it will be interesting to see how the PCB responds. Hope is that he performs badly in 2018 which will make PCB question whether he should be a part of the team. I hope Haris gets a go and is picked ahead of Hafeez but that won't be happening.

He’ll come back as opener, you can mark this post. 12th Nov was probably the date acting testing results came out - you can check, since then he has started to open in domestics - needs just one innings to make it to the Test side.

And this is not nepotism - it’s genuine respect - in PAK ranks, people who had seen both playing, rates MoHa at par with Mazid Khan - that should be enough clue.
