What's new

Is Shaheen Shah Afridi now at the start of the peak period in his career?

If he does have a slight injury then he should bat only if they still have a chance to win and then should rested for the second test.

As per a respot:

Shaheen Shah Afridi suffered a strain in his leg after which he underwent Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) here on Tuesday.

Reportedly, Afridi suffered a strain in his leg while fielding on day 3 of the ongoing first Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Afridi, who picked up four wickets in previous innings, managed to bowl just seven overs in second innings and had to leave the field following pain.

After failing to recover from pain despite ice treatment, team management decided to get Shaheen's MRI done.

Omg. Will he be ok for next test?

Missing his ability to get us those initial breakthroughs.

Fast bowler Shaheen Afridi is another Pakistan player to gain in the latest weekly update for Test bowlers, moving up one place to a career best-equaling third position after grabbing four wickets in the first innings. Hasan Ali and Yasir Shah have gained a slot each to reach 13th and 32nd positions, respectively.

Speaking in his interview with PP

PakPassion.net: Would you agree that Shaheen Shah Afridi is a role model for young bowlers like yourself?

Mohammad Hasnain: There is no doubt that Shaheen is one of the top bowlers in the world and I really appreciate his skills and look up to him as someone I wish to emulate in terms of what he has achieved for Pakistan. He is playing in all formats and putting in equally good performances without fail. Whether its regular bilateral series or major ICC events, he has put in amazing performances, and this makes him a great role model for our youngsters. A lot of the up and coming fast- bowlers have been inspired by his success and wish to bowl like him. His pace, line and length are immaculate and my advice to anyone wanting to succeed as a bowler in all formats is for them to look up to him. I am in awe of his skills and really appreciate his consistency and how he performs so well at the highest levels of the game.

Seems Shaheen is fit, as per Shahid Afridi:

“Shaheen was with me the other day and he is going through rehab at the moment. I think he will go with the team [to Netherlands],"

“Trainer and physio will work with him during the tour. He wants to keep himself fit for the upcoming Asia Cup which is why I think he will go with the side"

To Netherlands?

I hope just as a tourist and doesn't play a single game even if he is fully fit.

Brilliant once again today.

Shaheen Shah Afridi last 3 matches:

2-24
4-22
3-14

That knee injury was so badly managed by the PCB. It has set his development back massively. From late 140 to late 130s. I hope he gets back that rythm but that injury has really pushed him back.

He was quicker in the psl. Don't know what he's doing right now. Maybe easing in.

I was watching old clips of him clocking 148 kph and upto 152 kph in full flow. He has filled out nicely but not got the flow back. Knee injuries are bad.

Yeah I was surprised when I went to watch the game. He's filled out a lot, looks like a proper athlete.

Shaheen Shah Afridi should only impress his wife for batting purpose while playing leagues but not for the international team as he'll automatically will be useful by playing in t20 leagues..

He really needs to focus on his bowling and get his rhythm going..
