What's new

Is the Bangladesh cricket team the most unpopular cricket team right now?

does not matter how unpopular they are. If a team is world beater, does not matter if others are unhappy with them.

What Miraz did was stupid and wrong. I condemn. :inti
It was done in poor taste but at the end of the day, it was legal. Players need to know there are no friendships in international matches once the match starts. Agha should have been careful.
At the end of the day, it's an individual's decision whether he wants to claim such dismissal or not.
Some would some wouldn't.
The likes of Gayle, Starc etc have shown in the past they are okay with letting the batters off with a warning.

I don't support Miraz's action just like I didn't support Angelo's timeout. I don't believe in getting people out like this.

Agha is not some jerk like Kohli or Stokes. He is a nice guy. There was no need to do this to him.

BCB should remove Miraz from captaincy as he demonstrated he wasn't suitable to be the captain. He is missing Ethics 101.

Miraz guru is Sheikh Hasina aka indian dalal. Theres no ethics in Dalals. Miraz is a cunning opportunist, just like how cunningly used Kohli and RSharma to do video promoting his bat company for free during Bd last tour to India. He will take any opportunity to make name for himself. But this act of his has brought shame to BD cricket.

Yeah. Noticed that.

These people have no integrity. They chase short-term gratification over long-term consequences.

I personally would drop Miraz and play someone else. Miraz's batting has declined anyway.

What happened bro? Completely missed it. Dont follow anything outside big test series

T20 WC and odi WC

That is the reason why world looks down on bangla boys... Their sportsmanship is nil.

Yeah. They need to work on being gentlemen on the field. I think most players are okay but there are some bad apples who can't control their emotions.

I am someone who believes cricket should be a gentlemen's sport and players should play the sport with ethics/right spirit.

Fools he's your captain not ICT captain,
Nurtured, trained and selected by BCB not forced upon by BCCI or GOI
For once takes responsibility without blaming dragging India into it ...

Try being adults, it's not that hard
:cobra :dav

Miraz behaved like an Indian agent in the past. I personally don't want Miraz in the team. :inti

Tikka Khan -- the famous Rajput General from Pakistan -- cannot defend his actions but sure can understand where he was coming from.

This was unnecessary from miraz

Also chewing gum boy was standing casually way out of crease

One players action as such has rattled so many soft skinned egoistic fools on this forum. Laughable really. I get that the endians will troll as thats one of their favourite past time hobbies. But the some others need to better as muslims you dont judge the whole nation for ones unsportsmanlike act. Yes you can criticise his action for sure but even then what he did was within the rules he grabbed the ball before the batsman and run him out. So stop whinging and get over it, you won the game.

Exactly.

Agha seems a cool dude. He meant it in a nice gesture tried to pick it up to give it back to the bowler but Miraz is cunning if the guy who can trick Kohli and RSharma into doing a video to promote his bat company MKS for free, he can do anything on the field to make himself look great. It’s part of Awami League dna. Jamaat teaches ethics better. Anyways thats for another day.

By rules of the game. Agha is out. As he stepped out of the crease after ball was bowled and he didnt get back into the crease . So he shouldn’t have tried to be the nice dude out of the crease like that cause he is risking his wicket. Yes it was UTTER sportsmanship from Miraz but Agha needs to learn he cant do that out of the crease.

I have never ever seen you support bangla over Pakistan at anything. At one single thing.

I just want your fellow bangladeshis to know what kind of traitor you are and never believe you when you pretend you ever have Bangladesh's interest at heart, you only and only have Pakistani intrest at heart

A Bangladeshi cricket bat company?

I wouldn't even trust it to be a useful toothpick.

When it comes to Bangladeshis. Nope.

BD is South Asias 2nd biggest economy, from once a basket case to (now in 2026) GDP $519billion dollar. They’ve not done too bad since then, Sir. You can keep your evil thoughts to yourself. It wont effect a thing. :klopp

‘MKS’, Miraz’s own bat company he opened along with former player Imrul Kayes and someone else. am sure if you used your glasses you could’ve seen him bat with it.

But you’re legend thinks, “MKS bat khub balo achi” - ‘Mks bats really good. He meant Bhalo ache not achi but Kohli isnt a bengali so understandable.

You kanglus have no standing anywhere .

Indians treat Bangladesh the way Pakistanis treat Afghanistan, with a condescending sense of ownership. The implicit attitude is, you exist because of us, so how dare you challenge us? It's geopolitical entitlement dressed up as sporting rivalry. Both India and Pakistan have made peace with Sri Lanka's cricketing identity. But Bangladesh and Afghanistan are still met with hostility. That hostility only intensifies as these sides get better.
The irony is, Bangladesh and Afghanistan have been beating or pushing India and Pakistan routinely. The talent is undeniable. Bangladesh's young generation is fearless. Afghanistan have already shown the world what they're capable of.
If I were a fan of either side, I'd wear that hatred as a badge of honor. Sri Lanka earned their respect the hard way by winning in 1996. That's the template. The only lasting answer to entitlement is a World Cup trophy.

What d i miss !

If you guys don't like BD cricket, don't watch their games. Easy peasy. :inti

Why do you lot try to seek attention so much? :inti

And both Ind and Pak went insecure after this?
Its not insecurity. Its the opposite. It's the sense of ownership over these countries' very existence, and therefore their success feels like ingratitude rather than achievement.

It seems like Bangladesh live rent-free inside sanghi heads 24/7. :qdkcheeky

They can't stop talking about Bangladesh even though they claim Bangladesh cricket team is terrible and boring. :qdkcheeky

He showing off as if he’s a star after a couple of okayish matches.

Well, learn to be grounded you long kid. You’re not even better than our Dahani. So don’t you ever show us attitude.

As usual, you are taking things out of context like Indian fake news media.

Prior to this wicket, Nahid got hit for a six. He was venting out his frustration.

Anyway, I don't support this this type of swearing in cricket whether it is done by Nahid or Kohli. Cricket should be a gentlemen's sport. :inti

Based on what I see on social media, India is the most hated because of all the perks they receive from ICC and behaviors of their fans.

Bangladesh is not a big team. Apart from the salty loser Indians, nobody is really obsessed with Bangladesh. :inti

If majority of the Indians hate you, no matter what you do, they will win the online polls for having the large number of online users. So usually, if they voted against you, you are doomed. 😜

It is surprising to me that many polls had them as one of the most disliked teams despite collectively they usually outnumber others in polling. It just tells you that most people around the world hate them quite a bit.

India is always about quantity over quality. It is true in cricket and outside of cricket.

:inti

Bangladeshi players for years acted arrogantly , their fans 10 times worse when it comes to arrogance. That is why Bangladesh teams is disliked. Otherwise no other reason. Severed head of MSD really did not go well with Indian fans. It is not srilankan fans love Bangladesh team. They also hate them. If you go through social media feed after Miraz's incident pakistan fans also hate them.

Dude you have 60k posts and almost all of those posts are useless scorecard readings. It's funny, how you talk about quality over quantity.
IN terms of cricketing nous Bangladesh fans are poor. Listen to Athar Ali khan. Has he ever analyzed technique of plaeyrs? Never. He doesn't want to make a fool of himself. They are just ignorant.

It is funny when Indians make fun of Bangladeshi heights.

Average Indian male height is 5'5'' or 5'6''. :qdkcheeky

They write like they are tall like Africans. LOL. Very stupid.

Here is a different take of average cricket players' height of the same region. 😀

They just can't win there even despite having big economy, and hence meaning better nutrition opportunities.

Yup. Sounds about right.

Indians are not in a position to make fun of anyone's height. Indian average male height is 5'5'' to 5'6''. Tendu is 5'6''. :inti

Many teams, including Pakistan, have had their fair share of instances where they went against the spirit of the game. Bangladesh, too, has done some really silly things:

Here is Shakib throwing a tantrum, kicking, and throwing the stumps during the Dhaka Premier League. He was 34 at the time, not a child.

Then there was a time in 2016 when Mashrafe Mortaza and Sabbir Rahman were fined 20% of their match fee for an on-field row with Jos Buttler. The two Bangladeshis ran up to him after he was dismissed, giving him an overly aggressive send-off. Stokes and Tamim refused to shake hands after the match.

Mortaza doubled down after the match, saying, "Actually, we didn't do anything wrong, so we shouldn't apologize."

There was also another instance when Mushfiqur Rahim was about to punch his own teammate, Nasum Ahmed, in a Bangabandhu T20 Cup match after they almost collided while taking Mushfiqur a catch.

There was the latest incident where Bangladesh cheaply dismissed Angelo Matthews by timing him out because the strap of the former Sri Lankan captain's helmet broke. This was the first time that this had happened in the history of the game. Shakib showed no remorse, saying, "If it's in the rules, I don't mind taking chances."

Lastly, Shakib was also banned from participating in cricket for 2 years (he had a one-year suspended sentence) for match-fixing allegations as he did not report approaches from bookmakers.

Do you think these instances make the Bangladesh team the most unpopular cricket team right now?
Cheat skipper once again endorsed what you said so many years back ..

Hoping BD loses all the series after this and loses the qualifiers too. The recent T20 WC was awesome not only because India won but also because we didn’t have to see BD.

Tendulkar is 5ft 5. Few inches taller than our Mushy.

Look at Indian bongs where Joshlia is from their tallest bowler in wesr Bengal history is Ashok Dinda at 5ft 7. 😂

In Social Media Lankans hate them the most atleast on Instagram and Facebook, but they are pretty pathetic.. look at Hridoy thinks he is Bradman.

It is funny how sanghis are raging just because BD won a series. :qdkcheeky

It is always fun to see them agitated/enraged.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named former captain Habibul Bashar as the new chairman of the men’s selection committee, succeeding Gazi Ashraf whose term ended in February.

Bashar, who captained Bangladesh in 18 Tests and 69 ODIs, had previously served as a men’s selector for over a decade before leading the women’s wing for a year. Most recently, he was overseeing age-group cricket until being offered the chief selector role last month as Ashraf’s tenure concluded.

The board has retained Hasibul Hossain from the previous panel, while also bringing in former internationals Naeem Islam and Nadif Chowdhury. Naeem, still active in domestic cricket, has amassed 11,253 first-class runs with 34 centuries, while Nadif transitioned into age-group selection last year after a brief international career.

The BCB had opened applications for the panel last month, interviewing several ex-cricketers including Javed Omar and Mohammad Rafique. The newly formed four-member committee will serve until the conclusion of the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.

Stop playing the Muslim card, it's a sports forum and your team is one of the most hated despite being an irrelevant minnow. Maybe it's time to se what's wrong with the Cricketing culture rather than calling upon the Ummah.

Had watched him in an Asia Cup programme with legends in India today. Looked to be well mannered and soft spoken gentleman.
