Trade war with China, words spoken against Russia, taking on Iran etc - all examples of what is confrontational politics/policies by the US Admin. Is that bad news for the world or simply negotiation tactics?

It's nothing new. The US has been involved in hundreds of wars since it's existance. Add to this the numerous nations they have runied via covert means.

It's not bad news or tactics as China, Iran and Russia will continue with policies for the benefit of their nations. America cant defeat the Taliban, so is no real worry to those powers.

Trade wars can start shooting wars. Very irresponsible by Trump.

Why just blame Trump? I know you feel the US are heros because they saved Europe from Hitler, although it's not as simple as this but the track record of this nation is one of causing conflict, killing people and destroying nations. Trump is just more honest than someone like O'Drama was.

Overall its beneficial. I believe Trumps policies are badly damaging the US image across the world particularly in Europe. We will see countries come together under a number of camps now.

The US/ Israeli camp. By extension this includes gulf states.

Irani/Russian Camp.

European union.

I believe that the main body of Europe will soon be freed from the shackles of US/Israeli politics and will be able to deal with Iran and Russia directly.

War is the ultimate negotiation tactic, one that the USA has never been afraid to resort to when push comes to shove. China and America are too powerful to confront each other directly, but war can be fought through proxies, and it would be naive to think that stoking conflict won't be a part of the arsenal deployed further down the line.

When Trump invokes the Make America Great again, his followers will be thinking back to times when their military power dominated the rest of the world, and no one would question their status as the world's leading power. Do we really think they will sit on their hands while China and India grow to challenge that status?

Britain and the Soviet Union saved Europe from Hitler, they were both directly under attack and acting in self-defence. The people at home, and not just the soldiers, died heroically in their millions.

The US meanwhile only ever planned to join the war when it personally suited them to do so, hence why they helped to facilitate the Pearl Harbour incident.

I agree. History shouldn't forget those who died fighting for freedom against fascism and not forget why the US got invovled.

I think the world needs a new UN where so much power(veto) isn't given to a few. This would help stop conflicts or at least show those who are going against International law to start wars.

I’m very grateful that they helped save Europe from Nazism or Soviet Communism. That doesn’t mean I’m uncritical of all they do.

Obama didn’t start any trade wars and extricated his country from two massive overseas embroilments.

We are on the brink of world war. The world is such a hostile place. Has there ever been so much hostility in every continent or region at once in human history? It's just a matter of time. Time bomb is ticking.

But is this an issue of current administration or has this been happening for a while?
