one of my bats has this crack along the side of the bat. looks less like a crack, and more of a proper split down the side. this is not "normal", right? does this mean the bat was faulty? i have only been using good quality balls, and have never had this issue with any other bat i've had.

and just to clarify, it looks sticky, because there was an anti scuff sheet that i peeled back for the pictures

its not a surface crack though. there actually seems to be a hole on the side of the bat. seems like eventually a chuck of the bat will peel off, which is why i was worried.

Open up the crack very slightly and inject a decent wood glue. Clamp it together and leave for at least 24hrs. The glue is stronger than the bat. Use it in the nets at first. If happy, you've just saved yourself some money. If not, then just use it as a practice bat.
