Now watch them boycott us in football as well. :))) shaz619

Wait a minute... are you guys serious? Was this a game between the national teams or blind, handincapable teams?

I doubt it is u-18. More like club teams from many countries based on the tournament's website.

Have always said there is plenty of Footballing talent in Pak. Lyari in Karachi and Baluchistan are Football crazy places.

I swear to God this is just embarrassing for the Indians. They have a huge, mega tournament and spend so much money on football while Pakistan have NOTHING and we don't even spend a fraction of what they spend YET we won lol. Syed1 Not even kidding, some of the burgers or Islamabad who have grown up playing football are actually QUITE good.

I used to go to a very posh school in Islamabad and they had even personally hired a football coach who was a main player for the Nigerian football team. Pakistan mei yaar log khud he aagay jaatay hain.

lol. take a chill pill. The Gothia cup is made up of various academy teams participating, not as a nation, but as their own academy team. So, some academy team from Pakistan beat an academy team from India. Not some u19 or a national side.

should have gone and researched a little , why do you guys just believe anything .

The Indian national teams U-23 and U17 are preparing for Asian cup qualifiers and U-17 WC , they have been regularly playing top sides from South America and EU . The last match I believe they drew with US though they lost to chile and Columbia , trust we are they will not lose 12-0 to Pak blindfolded .

it looks like some Academy team from Pak ( IAF ) beat some unknown club (RSSA) from Ahmedabad and this is news in Pakistan .

Lol look at the happiness of our friends from other side of the border.. Indian national/U-17/U-23 teams are doing extremely well compared to the past.. Football in India is on the rise we won't be a top side ever but can certainly be a top 50 side in next 10-15 years..

The result does show there is potential in Pakistan to expand football now it's up to the authorities and government to invest in football.

Too many Pak fans posted without reading who played who. 2 unknown clubs played each other and Pak fans thought their national side beat India :)))

It's embarrassing that Govt of Pakistan made this announcement.

Islamabad Football Association (IFA) clinches Gothia U18 Football Cup

Islamabad Football Association (IFA) team has clinched the ‘Gothia Under 18 Football Cup, China’ after beating Zhaoqing Lixun FC 6-5 on penalty kicks in the final match.

According to a press release on Saturday, in the 14th minute of the first half, Chin Lee scored the first goal, but Mohammad Ahmed of IFA quickly equalized in the 19th minute.

Both the teams fought well, but the match ended 1-1. Each team took five penalties. Both teams were accurate in their penalty shoots as nine out of the ten penalties found the target. IFA scored all five of their penalty kicks, while Zhaoqing Lixun Club missed one, handing IFA the victory.

IFA team will return from China to Lahore Airport on August 22.

Islamabad have the most talented football players in Pakistan after Lyari and Chaman. Football is played like crazy here. A close friend of mine has played u-17 from Pakistan and always tell the talent Pakistan has but no support especially in poor areas.

I wholeheartedly agree with Imran Khan when he says Pakistan have a lot of talent and potential. Despite zero facilities and support people emerge from nowhere here. And a main reason for that is you will find people who are crazy and absolute passionate in their fields.

Already booked my ticket for FIFA U17 world cup in Kochi, India. Brazil Vs Spain is our 1st match on october 7th. Must be good.

Pakistan is ranked 200 in the fifa rankings.

It's really really bad considering the only teams Pakistan plays are other teams from the neighborhood.

So to think the u18 suddenly wins 12-0 against India who is actually investing and preparing for WC u.17 is a bit uptimistic.

200 ranked in football alongside Somalia lol.

That's a bit optimistic. The investment has to be much more aggressive if you dream of making it to top 50 in football in 15 years. Not gonna happen if you ask me. It takes much more time.

Ofcourse I am optimistic the interest in football has been gradually increasing since early 2000's with rise of cable and EPL.. One would hope That this increase in interest can result in more kids taking up football and with proper investment can only improve are standing internationally..

Ofcourse there is a chance we might drop back to 147th rank in next 5 years woh India you never know what can happen but there is no harm in being optimistic..

India has such a massive population that even if 0.1% population takes up football that would be greater player pool than half of the countries of the world.

Well India does not have a sporting culture mate.. It's not about the population it's about the culture which I believe is the same in Pakistan.. Growing up in school how many times was the games period cancelled for another teacher to complete her course? How many times did your parents not let you attend sports training in order to finish your homework? Before exams were you allowed to go play outside?

The lesser said about diet the better.. I think the new age parents from what I've seen are more open to let their kids pursue sports as a career compared to our times that's why I'm optimistic we can be better in next 15 odd years.. But we still do not have a sports culture compared to other countries mainly due to the population of our country 1.3 bill is just too much competition..

Ranking in football does not hold much value.
Unless you are ranked 200 like Pakistan which tells you the story that football does not exist in the country.

Fx Iran is ranked 24 but that is because they play asian team which are much weaker and therefore their ranking has gone up. If they regularly played EU teams or South American teams they would be well below top 50.

Top 50 I was talking actually being among the 50 best football nations in the world.

Lol you went way too technical I meant the same thing let me rephrase it for you in next 15 odd years I am optimistic of India being one of the best 50 football countries in the world..

However it would not totally surprise me if India regresses and becomes one of the worst 50 football playing nations..

India has great potential and so has China.

If they become as crazy about football as they are about cricket and IT and doctors/Engineers they can become a top football nation.

That's difficult because football is not seen as a career there is too little money in football unless you are a top national player.. We don't have a club football culture like europe wherein apart from top clubs players of second lower division clubs are not paid enough to see it as a culture.. Nor do we have government benefits so if let's say someone fails to be a top level footballer would be very difficult for him to flourish so people chose the easier option of IT/ doctors where opportunities are much more..

None of this means anything. Every few days we hear about some junior Indian or Pakistani team doing something in some random tournament but it never materialises into anything significant in the real footballing world. Both countries are still ranked below 150 along with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and below countries with a fraction of the population and even more limited resources like Sierra Leone or Suriname.

And then we have people giving bogus reasons as to why none of the countries in the subcontinent have managed to make the slightest of impact in football such as it not being a viable career option or poor governance.

Yep heard about him. You guys are lucky!
Btw even the small clubs here have some good coaches.

Haha, I'm long done with school. This was a long time ago..

However, I do agree, I will forever be indebted to my parents who did everything they could to induct me into the best institutions available.
