Is Islamabad really all that unique? The third world is full of lush green newly built capitals in neat grids and big roads. Caracas Brasilia, Astana, Baku even Tehran though it is older.
Islamabad has nothing outside of the greenery. No public transportation, culture or education. Feels like a boring american suburb or a giant scale retirement home, not a vibrant capital. I guess it could be desirable for the people who dream of said american suburb.
