What's new

Islamabad United (129/4) secure a dominating 6-wicket victory against Karachi Kings (128/7) in match 10 of PSL X

To be honest Karachi were never at any stage in this game. PSL has become really boring , each game has been one sided.

Criticising is fine but no fan has right to abuse any player with disgusting remarks.
Naw I agree with @followed . He's a sportsman who's literally destroying the very identity of what it means to be a sportsman.

It's not just Azam, guys like babar need to be attacked to for letting go of their fitness but Azam is definitely an extremity.

It turns cricket into a joke.

Not debating fitness but disgusting abusive name calling.

Aamir Jamaal is not good enough to be called an all-rounder. He need assistance from pitch to be effective . He looks harmless so far

He has tools to bowl well but may be has not bowled enough since his come back from injury. Pakistan has no proper all rounders.

Shadab Khan is the god damn Ricky Ponting of IU. Just can't lose 🤣🤣.

This dude has made IU damn near unbeatable. It's crazy cause on paper they don't look strong at all.

It's a team filled with players who PCB considers ex rejects like Imad, Shadab, Haider Ali, Azam Khan, Shabzada Farhan

Yet their the most dominant team in PSL and the 2 worst teams are the ones who are considered the pride and parcel of international cricket. Aka Babar, Rizwan, Shai Hope, Saim Ayub, Iftikhar Ahmed( has a massive following on PP, Kamran Ghulam, Mitchell Owens etc)

Tbf it's not Owens fault, his PZ team is mismanaging him but the rest are all playing in their positions.

it franchise though

I was thinking why Muhammad Nabi is not being introduced to the attack. He came and took broke the partnership

Friends still get rewarded, why Nawaz needs to bat early, especially when he has no future for Pakistan now.

Big match tomorrow

Not an ideal time to play Karachi after such a poor performance by them. They are going to improve for sure

PZ will look very different if Babar gives up his ego and bats at no 3

Their is no threat from PZ and MS. Their only here to provide free points.

Im not aware of previous PSL editions as I stopped watching after 2019, but I watched the previous edition(2024) and this one.

Last year Rizwan got lucky due to Usman Khan going berserk mode in 90% of his games but now that everyone knows to juat bowl short to Usman that one trick pony nonsense is over.

Similarly saim ayub heavily contributed to Zalmi's success but hes rusty due to being away for so long and hence it'll take alot of time for him to get his rhythm back.

Both these franchises relied on one man to seal the deal for them. The weird thing is IU. Their team is a total mess on paper.

A team filled with Azam Khan, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Haider Ali, Colin Munro, Shabzada Farhan, Muhammad nawaz etc etc has no rhyme or reason to be this good. But they gell extremely and unbelievably well.

No they won't. Babar is out of form and has been since 2022.

In 2022 he had possibly the worst t20 run of all time from a Pakistani opener in t20. Flunked asia cup and t20 wc. Pakistan didnt reach the final thanks to him.

In 2023 all his godly performances come up against Nepal and a c team NZ. Both of these series were played on curated road pitches to avoid spin.

Chacha hinself smacked a 100 on these pitches which showcases how poor quality said pitches truly were for bowling.

Otherwise we all know how asia cup and world cup ended for the King. His best performances being soft score 50's. Same case with test series vs Sri lanka.

Then in 2024 same story, Soft 50's in odi, followed by crap t20 performances and crap test performances and 2025 follows the exact same trajectory.

opening, 1 down, 2 down, etc etc, Doesnt make a difference.

Lol man. Why so sensitive? Are you familiar with desi culture?

This woke thing is destroying culture and heritage. No need to be so sensitive in every matter.

I m a pendu I don't care about these little things.

Islamabad United extended their impressive run in HBL PSL X, registering their fourth consecutive victory with a commanding six-wicket win over Karachi Kings in a low-scoring encounter at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi, on Sunday night. Skipper Shadab Khan led from the front with a stellar all-round performance, helping his side notch their ninth straight win over the Kings.

Chasing a modest target of 129, the in-form Sahibzada Farhan gave United a flying start, smashing 30 off just 18 balls, laced with five fours and a six.

Hasan Ali provided a brief spark for Karachi, dismissing both Farhan and Colin Munro in the fifth over — the latter falling to a sharp in-swinging delivery that rattled his stumps. However, United remained untroubled, as Shadab Khan and Azam Khan stitched together a crucial 65-run stand off 52 balls to take the game away from the hosts.

Although Azam (31 off 30, 3 fours, 1 six) was dismissed by Mohammad Nabi in the 14th over, most of the work was already done. Shadab, who scored a composed 47 off 40 balls (5 fours, 2 sixes), stayed at the crease until the penultimate moment, falling to Mohammad Abbas Afridi with just one run needed for victory.

Earlier, Karachi Kings struggled on a pitch offering variable bounce. Naseem Shah set the tone with a brilliant opening spell, including a beauty to dismiss David Warner.

United’s spinners then applied the squeeze, with Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan tightening the screws in the middle overs. Tim Seifert was the top scorer for Karachi with a sluggish 30 off 37 balls before falling in the 13th over.

Shadab finished with impressive figures of 2 for 17 from his four overs, while pacers Naseem Shah and Jason Holder also chipped in with two wickets apiece, contributing to a disciplined bowling effort.

Karachi's only real spark came late in the innings from No. 9 batter Abbas Afridi, who struck a quickfire 24 not out off just 9 balls, including three sixes and a four, lifting the total to 128-7 from 20 overs.

Shadab Khan in the post-match presentation:

"As a team, we made some plans after the draft. We brought Nawaz today as we assumed the pitch would be a bit different from the Karachi track, and we assessed the conditions well. Azam and Sahibzada gave us a great start.

On this wicket, playing across the line was tricky as it was keeping a bit low. The message for the batters was to play straight. The energy was always high on the field. Our execution in both batting and bowling could be better. We’ve made changes to the playing XI based on statistics and data. Hopefully, we can keep the momentum going."
