Rizwan with a solid matching knock. Below 100 SR too. Hilarious.

Rizwan - 36 runs off 37 balls
Usman Khan - 61 off 40 balls

That difference of 20-25 runs will likely be the key in the match.

50 runs partnership , this is good going , need to milk the bowling for next 6 overs , they will be in strong position to win easily.

Tayyab Tahir and Kamran Ghulam punished with batting at 7 and 8 because of Rizwan’s poor innings?

I feel Riz should have bowled Ubaid earlier. Why save 2 overs when you have already lost the game

If Sultans were going to win, it would have been because of a spell from Ubaid.

Poor captaincy

Nawaz should be in the squad for Pakistan OD Team, very useful player , a long with Aga can be a good pair to have batting all rounders.

Wouldn't have made a difference. Riz lost the match with his batting when he chose to bat with zero intent at a SR of 97(!)

I hope IU slip up in this tourney (its not like IU is nuturing some young local talent- there realiant on a top three of Sahbizada, Gous and Munro), a win for them will convince PCB of Shadabs superstar status- he'll get a national captaincy gig off of it 100%

Agreed — but my point was that the only way Multan were to have a chance would be if their express pacer bowled his 4 overs before the match was already lost. Riz only have him 2

168 on a pancake flat pitch. In what world do you expect to win with a total like that? That too against a side on a 9-match winning streak .

Hopefully Ali Tareen can keep his mouth shut now. He has been embarrassed and made to look like a fool twice in the space of a few weeks.

3 more home games to salvage 6 more points

They will probably bottle 1 of the 2 against QG and probably 1 against PZ

Karachi will not die easy against them either on this deck. One of the top 3 can easily just smash them out of the park.

The question is not whether IU will win the PSL or not. The question is whether they will even lose a single match enroute to a fourth title win?

They haven’t faced Finn Allen yet

He can win a game against them all on his own.
Allen is great but also very hit or miss. Either he will bash a bowling attack to pieces or get out cheaply. He needs to be batting on a flat deck to really hit his peak. And so far he hasn't batted against a high-quality bowling attack like IU.

He will line this bowling attack up and delete it if it’s his day.

Naseem
Holder
Shadab
Imad
Meridith or Dwarshius

Then you have Russow, Chapman and Mendis to have a go if he doesn’t fire.

All you need is a brave skipper willing to go with an all or nothing attitude against IU on a flat deck. Get them or they will get you attitude.

Let's see. I'm interested to see how he does. But I feel like the IU bowling attack is in amazing form and it won't be as easy for him against them as it was against Zalmi

So far IU has broken every preconceived notion about tosses and pitches.

Defending champions Islamabad United extended their dominant run in HBL PSL X, securing their fifth consecutive victory with a seven-wicket win over Multan Sultans at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Wednesday night.

Led by Shadab Khan, United clinched their 10th straight win since HBL PSL 2024, successfully chasing down a 169-run target with 17 balls to spare. Opening batter Andries Gous played a pivotal role, remaining unbeaten on 80 off 45 deliveries, smashing six fours and five sixes.

No team has ever recorded ten consecutive wins in HBL PSL history, with Multan Sultans ranking second with an eight-match streak.

Gous reached his maiden PSL half-century but lost his opening partner Sahibzada Farhan in the third over after an initial 29-run stand. Colin Munro then joined him and launched an aggressive counterattack, forging an 81-run second-wicket partnership in just 48 balls.

Munro contributed a brisk 45 off 28 balls, laced with five fours and two maximums, before Michael Bracewell dismissed him in the 11th over. Mohammad Nawaz (21 off 19) then partnered with Gous in a crucial 55-run third-wicket stand to bring United closer to victory.

For the Sultans, Bracewell, Ubaid Shah, and Chris Jordan picked up a wicket each.

Earlier, Multan Sultans opted to bat first after winning the toss. Their openers, Mohammad Rizwan (36 off 37) and Yasir Khan (29 off 17), stitched a solid 51-run stand in 6.4 overs before Nawaz struck to remove Yasir.

Usman Khan then arrived at the crease with intent, smashing a 29-ball fifty. His 65-run stand with Rizwan ended in the 14th over when Shadab Khan provided a crucial breakthrough, leaving Sultans at 116/3.

United’s bowlers tightened their grip in the final overs, conceding just 42 runs while dismissing Bracewell, Iftikhar Ahmed, and top-scorer Usman Khan (61 off 40, four fours, four sixes). Kamran Ghulam finished the innings with an unbeaten 10 off six balls, including a six and a four.

Nawaz, Jason Holder, Shadab, and Riley Meredith each claimed a wicket for United.

Islamabad United will now lock horns with Lahore Qalandars at Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday, 30 April.
