You can already tell he's back to near bowling fitness
Like I said in the thread of first Lahore vs IU match thread people need to give Shadab some time as he has not played much over past couple years because Pak do not play many matches and he has been off quite a lot with injuries or played half fit. He is a quality player and if he can get some form in his bowling you can also rely on him to score some useful runs what when batti g in lower middle order.
As far as his captaincy is concerned he has always been good as shown whe he captained Northern and IU. He leads by example in the field with his energetic and effective fielding.

he will have to do a LOT to justify his position... but by the looks of it, he has accepted the fact that his place as a bowling all-rounder is under serious threat , not becz of any indivdual, but due to his own performance. so he is trying to prove himself as a batting all-rounder ... which isnt working as well

for a no5 spot, he has to compete with likes of Malik, Azam Khan, Haider Ali, Sarfraz, Imad, Fahim, who are all superior batsmen to him ... it will b real poor if he gets to play ahead of any of the above mentioned names

he should focus on his bowling...and once that starts delivering, his batting will follow from the confidence he gets...

at the min, its xtremly disappointing to see how far he has fallen from where he started...

I wonder if Babar will single handedly lose his team the game again if the target is above 170

Definitely I really like shadab he is good player and he's young but people expect to much from him but I think he is nearly back to his best. he was In my world squad
Even when he had injuries I knew he would come back strong.

Rumour is Amir has made himself available for National Selection so maybe he will want to prove he still has it in him.

He won't be batting in the top 6 in international.in domestic he would be thou.

he will be tied up with Harris Rauf .... which shld make him available for selection in XI .. he is def behind SSA, Hassan Ali and Faheem (Faheem an automatic choice due to the all-rounder tag)

might be a good idea not to play him and go with 3 spinners ... Imad and Shadab(dont want him to play but he will) and Usman Qadir should be a better option than imad + shadab + Aamir

Will be interesting to see how Babar bats at the top this time..

Islamabad United have won the toss elected to bowl first against Karachi Kings

Hassan Ali , Muhammad Akhlaq and Akif Javed are in playing XI for Islamabad

Muhammad Akhlaq is today's debutant for Islamabad

He was gonna join his family but then got talked out of it. He’s not left the bubble so is still eligible to play and doesn’t need to quarantine again.

Thankyou I fought it was confirmed that he's left.

I'd be disappointed if imad play ahead of shadab but to be honest both will play come the world cup.

Imad as a bat is Far superior than most in the XI , bar obvious ones....as a T20 batsmen i think he is 5th behind Fakhar, Babar, Rizwan n Haffeez... on bowling he is much more effective in UAE conditions ... as a new ball bowler .... only place where Shadab trumps him is fielding

i personally hate imad .. esp how he behanved in NZ when he just walked off during a game...tht was shamefull to say the least.. but he deserves to be in there

Islamabad United:

Munro, Khawaja, Shadab, Talat, Ifthikhar, Asif Ali, Akhlaq, Hasan Ali, Ali Khan, Waseem, Javed

Karachi Kings:

Imad, Babar, Sharjeel, Najibullah Zadran, Thisara, Guptill, Walton, Abbas, Maqsood, Amir, Iqbal

Imad can only slog at the end hence why he never promotes himself.i would back shadab as he can actually play apart in all three formats.shadab has a bigger ceiling whilst imad is limited but makes use of the limited skill he has.

we dont have much of a sample size to prove what you said above...
he hasnt scored tons of runs in domestic
he hasnt scored any runs in List-A games

based on above, Hassan Ali has more claim for this throne than shadab ... (not saying he shld) but atleast he can claim it with runs to back it

Not sure what Qasim did wrong to be dropped. Even if they thought they dont need an extra spinner, they already had 4 pacers now they have 5.

Dont mind seeing Abbas Afridi playing though but, feel for Qasim.

Rohail Nazir has been dropped in favour of the debutant Muhammad Akhlaq it seems

Hassan ali averages 22 in tests whilst shadab averages 33 with the bat in international yes the sample size is small but shadab has shown in international that he has a decent technique and can score runs against decent attacks.

Akif got the both inside and outside edges of Babar’s bat in that over.

Sharjeel so much more intent to go after it! goes for 6 as a reward!

Top bowling from Akif. Was extracting edges of both the openers bat with a little bit of movement

Akif is already much more polished than most young Pakistani bowlers. Doesn't just bang it in. He thinks about his bowling and has skills.

His control is phenomenal I can remember an over he bowled to Watson I think last season it was world class over

Babar takes the final over of the powerplay for 17 runs. Full array of shots on show there.

Good to see Babar not just looking to increase the tempo in the last few overs of the innings.

At this point in their careers, Babar is well ahead of Kohli who is on a downward slope for about an year now. Kohli's best years are behind him.

Wasim JR has taken Du Plesis and Guptil in a space of days

Both akif and Waseem are making good bowling look so easy. Not too much focused on pace but line, length and seam

There comes the usual short ball from shadab right when pressure was building

I don't know what is the role of Shadab in the side? Is he a bowler, batsmen or a specialist cheerleader?

Babar plays with more confidence and freedom in the first innings.

Each time a commentator is forced to say "You can win a washing machine" they really struggle to control their laughter after saying this ...:))):)):)))
