IU will have to improve a lot from the last match especially the fielding and captain's own performance.

So Amad Butt is being given another game. Good to see trust of management in him, they would be hoping he reciprocates it with some notable performance.

Zafar not playing again. Poor from Misbah.

People will blame Shadab like the kid has any say over the most powerful man in Pakistan cricket.

Islamabad have to play out of their skin against Multan to make it competitive.

Akif with 140 kph and getting decent shape. Just needs to consistently keep it in the channel

Zafar was unpicked in the draft and going away like that until IU picked him. Ofcourse if they think conditions suite they will play him. Commies were saying seamers will get help here.

Musa is much more improved in terms of consistency of lengths with new ball than what we saw previously.

Saw 1 at 150.8 I think it was the first ball.

Yes it was in his first over I guess. Not sure why the broadcasters arent showing speed of every delivery, they sometimes miss few but surely they are getting the data from speed gun.

Musa generating some serious pace. If only he was taller.

Height is important but not everything. Shami has more than 300 international wickets now and is one of the highest wicket takers in last few years and he is only around 5ft9-10

No idea. It's so annoying. They can't do the basic stuff right.

Akif bowling looks mediocre and wayward compared to his spell in Karachi as ordinary Shan Masood is facing him he got away with it

Height does make a difference in SENA countries. The extra bounce usually does make the difference. The reason Shaheen Shah was better than all other Pakistanis in SA despite being as fast as the others.

In Asia the wickets are different and reverse swing plays a huge role. Skiddy bowlers usually do well here.

Is Asif Ali the worst fielder in Pakistan cricket? I mean I have never seen this guy do even the basics right

Wasnt expecting Musa to show such control with new ball in such the matter of couple of months. 3 overs for 16 runs in power play is good stuff. Last ball of the spell was poor where he was trying a slower ball but other than that it was really good accuracy.

In Australia maybe. Dale Setyn is 5ft10.5 or 11, didnt stop him to dominate all around. It helps definitely but Morkel couldnt become a better bowler than Steyn even in SA. In England there are countless examples as well with shorter bowlers doing well.

Even in WI their highest wicket taker in recent times is Roach.

Just needs to work a bit on his rhythm and consistency, he has got the basics.

Perhaps I'm wrong but I heard he has only recently started playing with a hardball? He did seem to come out of nowhere.

With a season or two behind him, he could be phenomenal.

Good start from Shadab but then a rubbish ball to release all the pressure.

He is bowling far too many drag downs.

Taking the captaincy will come back to haunt him as the reason for missing this t20 World Cup and stalling his progression.

I hope he has the mental capacity to go back to basics and improve his game.

You are correct. Was discovered in a NCA Remote Areas Programme not too long ago and was identified as prospect when if I am not wrong Pak current team management saw him in the nets and he was added to Balcohistan's FC campaign as well.

Impressed with how the PCB/ Misbah have handled him so far as well. Credit where its due.

Ammad Butt unfortunately always looks like a bowler who will get smashed. He just has that medium pace which is perfect to hit. Doesn't hit the pitch hard either like Faheem.

His batting is good but his bowling is not up to the level of a number 8.

Steyn is okay. But Musa is 5"9 something or maybe even shorter. Nothing is impossible, but the margin of error does get effected. Now Musa has to bowl a certain spot in order to be effective (compensate for his height) in those conditions. If he even strays a bit he will get smashed to pieces.

Yes, you can be fricking accurate like Steyn, but the fact remains that you are at a disadvantage on such wickets. Ryan Harris is a great example to follow on how to survive on those wickets despite your height. If Waqar can get this in his head Musa might even make it.

Shadab and Faheem Ashraf, both international cricketers, look mediocre. Strange how they have played for Pakistan so many times and yet look ineffective even in home conditions.

I agree. It definitely limits how much you can err in accuracy.

Atleast Shadab is spinning a few deliveries. Lenghts are off

some dumbo bashers were criticising Ammad... lol ... in ur face lol

Yes because 2 soft wickets from slower balls changes the fact that he's a 130km medium pacer who has no real defining attributes in his bowling. Reminds me of Anwar Ali.

Excited to see him bat though.

stop getting so overexcited.
Both dismissals were pretty soft.

He got smashed against Azam Khan out of all people.
How humiliating

Its not about wickets, he has bowled well today till now.

He conceded 50 off 4 overs against a side which have Shehzad, Azam Khan and Sarfaraz as their main batsmen :)))

want a wicket to fall down quickly here.
want to see khushdil bat

and as i was writing, one has fallen

I dont think its the correct way to judge anyone. If Babar gets out to a poor associate bowler will we start questioning his ability as well? A player can have poor days, but should only be judged based upon some number of matches atleast.

What a yorker and that too important wicket of Vince

Exactly.

But simply, its just not always about performance. He could get a 5 for here, while Akif gets smashed. It won't change the fact that Akif has amazing potential and Ammad will not consistently be a threat with the ball.

and hez got Mo-Ali, Rile Russow and now Vince with an inch perfect yorker... talk abt pushing it in haters face lol ...

Khush Dil Shah is a much better batsman than Zeeshan (of wat i have seen of him)

Zeeshan looks like a blind slogger :(

Its easy to watch a game and say 'Bowler get wicket, bowler GOOD'.

However surely its pertinent to make predictions based on the skillset displayed.

Good Yorker by him, he's bowled well today.

Why does he have to compete with Akif? He is being considered and has been considered for a role of pace bowling all rounder in white ball cricket who can hit a few at the end.

Purely as a pacer Amad he wont be making the cut over Shaheen, Amir, Rauf, Hasan, Hasnian, Naseem etc. Its his ability with the bat and decent ability to with bowl that he is being considered.

Hawkeye 3 wicket for ammad so far with one brilliant yorker to vince .Thankfully you are not coach or selector

We were talking solely about his bowling.

He was compared with Akif because he is the other young bowler in the team, and simply to show that performance in one or two matches alone doesn't determine who will have a better career.

Butt will be batting at 7/8. No matter how effective his batting is, he needs to be a very good bowler to be in the team.

They have picked the wrong zeeshan. I said it a year ago that zeeshan ashraf is rubbish and proving again today. Zeeshan Malik is way better.

In national team we dont have a pace bowling all rounder in LOIs and that is why he was selected against BD. He is a pretty decent bowler and can reverse the ball. Obviously purely as a bowler Alif has a much higher ceiling but squads are formed based upon combinations.

Dale Steyn arrival next week will create a good headache for IU management.

That was one hell of a shot from Zeeshan Ashraf
