What's new

Islamabad United v Peshawar Zalmi | PSL 2 | Match 12 | Sharjah | Feb 18, 2017 | Match Thread

Metronomic stuff from Hasan Ali. Been impressed with him in this tournament.

So Billings gets promoted to open for 3 games (the position he now occupies in international cricket) after Sharjeel gets caught and scores more runs than anyone else in the team in those 3 games combined and then gets told he's being put down to 6 in the order to make way for a 40 year old hack? Bet he's happy.

Exactly makes no sense. This is what friendship 11 is all about .
Talat for Asif would have been a straight swap which wouldn't have debstabilsed the team.

But he is a cracking bowler, what a pace and line man! obliged!

Irfan is the highest ranked ODI bowler, now you'll be more obsessed lol...

Pakistan has talent but in the form of 30 years old guys because here your parents will force you to complete studies first unlike England etc.

then it takes a long long time to be recognized in the domestics unless you are in the SIALKOT STALLIONS, but now since we have PSL on the line, you'll get to see a lot of youngsters who actually are young.

How many graduates, engineers & doctors are there in PK team or domestics? Complete opposite logic - since Akram, PAK had been led by defensive & shaky Captains who didn't have the vision, gut neither the security to play youngsters. In 90s, Akram won a WSC against WI & AUS with a team of average age 23.

Here few young bowlers are picked and the outing is not bad - take few U23 batsmen instead of those seniors - same will be story.

bro if you think that babar azam and M. Nawaz are really 23 and not around 28, then I'm sorry...Doesn't matter what the class of the family is, but they'll always force you to study despite your disinterest.

We got youngsters like Afridi, Malik in the early 2000's because at that time things were different.

Muhammad Amir is the only one I believe 23 because he exhibits it.

Did anyone mentioned IPL or about Indian batsmen on this thread. We talking about PSL and it's players. And you come and comment about IPL and Indian players yourself and when we reply back you say we put down IPL and other leagues. Stop behaving like a 5 year old child and grow up. Don't know why you so jealous about.

That's not a fair comment. Someone else first mentioned that the Lahore match reminded him of the IPL. Another poster then commented saying that the reason there are such high scores in the IPL is because the quality of bowlers isn't as good as in the PSL. The Indian poster simply pointed out it's the quality of the batsmen that's the main reason and frankly he is spot on.

One of my old friends who was a really good student but failed to continue with those grades and the increasing expenses decided to play cricket lowering his age by 5 years in the documents

Ben Duckett should have played instead of Dwyane Smith. Whilst he has his flaw at least he is more fluent and isn't as easy to bowl against compared to Smith

Duckett isn't in the squad to face the West Indies, so hope he replaces Smith in the next game.

That only tells that PCB has to do what Imran did - debut bowlers between 16-19 & batsmen under 21. Drop batsmen when he reaches 35 (even if he is Majid Khan or Zaheer Abbas) & bowlers at 30.

That wasn't on this thread. I had a debate with him yesterday too about same thing and he was moaning that someone mentioned IPL and other leagues in PSL thread. But I made no comment on IPL or Indian players or any other league and he comes and mentions Indian batsmen and IPL himself and when anyone replies he moans about us bringing up IPL.

Just told him make a thread and we can discuss the IPL vs PSL debate.

Idk if Billings leave for England duties or not?

If he has to leave, not trying another opener here would have been a stupid tactic IMO.

If he isn't leaving, then Smith, instead of Billings, should had been moved down the order.

Why bring Junaid back in the attack. Poor and useless bowler. Cost PZ first game and probably now again.

PAK shouldn't pick JK, already there are lots of image issues around PAK Cricket.

he was the 2nd highest wicket taker in the last BPL, he didnt play the final otherwise would have been the highest, he's better than a lot of other guys, he's not in form right now

yes
People bash Islu for Oldies but Zalmi is also not giving enough chances to youngsters, Asghar , Khushdil, and Irfan leggie who is not a youngster but talented
Syed1 , same rules apply here? Or doesn't it fit your agenda?

Smith was playing like Shafiq but now hitting boundaries, very good innings

I am not talking about his form .....

No need for that shot from Misbah, the RRR is manageable, just get there sensibly.
