Hopefully these two and Russel can atleast take it to somewhere just below a par score.

TBH, over the years IPL has been played on variety of tracks. Some notable ones are,

Kolkata's spinner/slow bolwer friendly track
Bengaluru and Mumbai's belter of a track
Chennai's mixed bag of track (some days spin friendly, some days belter)
Dharamshala and Mohali's sportive track

I'd call it garbage. It is a 'belter" for batsmen. IPL in the last 2 years had decent about of grass for an Indian pitch. Bengaluru is a hell. I'd hate to be a bowler there.

Just got back home and hometown # 2 is getting clobbered. And what in the blue hell is an ouy hoy boundary?

A low scoring match in the opener is not a good precedent for the crowds coming in, in later matches.

Just got home, watching it on YT, looks decent and crowd is charged up.

Though not a very exciting match

Smaller boundaries (straighter ones in particular) on these two grounds is another major issue (affects spinners the most).

Newer (relatively) stadiums like Pune, Nagpur, Ranchi have got bigger boudariers and somewhat balanced pitch.
