Why do people like Anwar think they are better than the proper batsman on the other end.

This is just pathetic. And this is a notion, I have only seen in Pak players like Anwar, Gul or Tanvir.

Others would take a single and let the bstsman do the batting.

You never know - the match is on balance, because Sanga left pre-maturely & other "big guns" bolting under pressure. QG still can put 175 - Sami should have been used to knock early wickets. His last over was more of Anwar's failure, rather than strategic brilliance.
