Islamabad United vs Quetta Gladiators | PSL - 9th match | Rawalpindi | Feb 27, 2020 | Match Thread

The Hundred will be far better than PSL. We can only hope to be the third best league.

It could be. But there is a lot of uncertainty about that competition.

PSL main problem now is player quality and age.

The Hundred has the potential to be the best league.

It is a great concept which could inspire many youngsters to play cricket.

No one can touch IPL, which is as big as international cricket now.

However, The Hundred is indeed a great concept and will be massive.

Next step should be to replace these oldies by some elite T20 players like Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, Maxwell etc.

Problem is PSL is held during the peak of international cricket calendar. It may need to change to attract the top players. I think franchies go for oldies as they are available for all the tournament.

For instance Van Der Dussen was signed by IU but had to pull out due to South Africa having games.

Is Steyn joining us for the next game?

ECB is addressing the uncertainties. They are promoting it aggressively and the top players in the world (except Indians) will be a part of it.

It is bound to be great.

Why no Indians?

The rules are what make it uncertain for me. Doesn't really seem like cricket. I will give it a chance but would rather they just went with 20 overs than change rules.

It is a bit of a risk but they had to something different instead of copying the IPL like other countries.

If the concept takes off it could threaten the long-term future of T20 cricket, similar to how ODIs evolved from 60 overs to 50 overs.

It won't threaten T20 cricket. It will be a franchie league and that's all. I know you love over hyping anything English and Indian but you can't make such a claim when a bowl hasn't even been bowled.

Australia lack a finisher to complete their T20 team. Honestly Cutting wouldn't be the worst option.

Got gifted a VIP ticket for the PZ vs IU match on Saturday. It might be a washout and we are IU’s bunnies so I might not go.

But if I do, I hope we can fluke a win. I have a 100% record of watching my team win whenever I have been in the stadium, although the sample size is embarrassingly small (only 2 matches).

Hmm, yes PSL does clash with international cricket calendar.

A bit unfortunate though.

100 balls shootout sounds more interesting than 20 overs. Nothing stays forever and the T20 format will not exist in its present form perpetually.

If the hundred concept succeeds, it is quite possible that T20 matches will be reduced to 100 balls.

The 10 ball over is very interesting. Every team would love to have its premier bowler bowl the last 10 balls of the innings.

Remember when yousaid PSL was a poor league and now its number 2. Jeez, make up your mind Raj.

Faheem is absolute garbage. Seeing him on the team sheet makes my blood boil. Shadab needs to do us a favour and drop his best friend.

Isn't The Hundred clashing with England's series with Australia & Pakistan?

I said it could be the third best, not that it is at the moment.

At the moment it is a poor league with very few quality active cricketers. It can get better if we get rid of the dead cricketers instead of giving them honorary citizenship.

Than the 100 will get boring and than they will go to 10 overs or something. It's not even cricket. These experiments are for franchise cricket. Not international cricket.

But I understand their stance, they play too much international cricket and have the financial capability to compensate their players.

It's not just for players in their international squads. Reeks of insecurity.

Same was said about T20 cricket initially. Change is the only constant.

Replacing Amir in the CT semifinal is the only thing Rumman will achieve in his career.

Should have signed a back up overseas bowler. Steyn may not be able to play all the games. Faheem and Ruman can't be trusted. Ingram and Malan do the same thing so you don't need both of them. Also what is the point of Salt if he is not going to play?

Some weird recruitment decisions by Misbah.

Despite the NB, it's a great over so far by Raees.

Faheem ruined it for us.

Dot last ball please.

He was our worst bowler during the ODI series in NZ in 2018, if I’m not wrong.

Nothing too impressive by Rumman.

Cutting should be considered by Australia for the WT20. Not the most gifted player, but his wealth of experience is handy. Smart cricketer.

Suddenly the bowling has become too weak for ISLU.

Can't rely on Faheem and Amad Butt FGS!!
