Pakistan comfortably won the test series vs NZ in NZ in 2010/11 - 1-0. (Misbah's second series as captain). They also won the ODI series 3-2 in that tour.

Last time Pakistan won a ODI series in SENA was 2013/14 vs SA where they won 2-1 in SA

I'm getting really tired of the term SENA. Not sure who coined it on PP.

Why can't we just call it outside Asia, which is always assumed to be those countries anyway. :usman

But regardless, it's nothing surprising and is reflected in our #7 or maybe #8 ranking.

Where did they win Test Mace ?
And ICC Champions Trophy ?

Oval, England. It is in SENA.

The problem is outside Asia also means Zimbabwe where Pak recently won the ODI series 5-0. :yk

Test mace was due to our achievements in UAE and a drawn series in England.

CT was a tournament in which Pakistan always up their game, we are talking about series.

Nah dude, nobody thinks of Zimbabwe when we're judging an Asian cricketer or team's performance 'outside Asia'...

You're a very sensible poster, I wonder why you don't post often.

After home Test series defeats in 2017 and 2018 my motivational levels have gone down a bit, i do come occasionally now here and there.

Wait... I had quoted Arsalan Pro I think

Yeah, due to Misbah(mostly) and his failed heir leading us to the dumps in that time.

We've been improving consistently since Sarfaraz and Mickey took over. Much better showing in SA this time. Results could've been a lot better with Haris there.

What a genius.

Misbah wins the series against SA in SA for the first time in Asia's history, and PP Einsteins think this disaster was better.

What's ur eleven for the world cup?

Yeah what world tournament did Misbah even come close to winning?????

The worst ever team that Pakistan put out in a WC was under Misbah in 2015, if you do not remember I can happily post the highlights of the India, WI or Aus games.

Don't need to change much. Haris comes in to replace Malik or Hafeez. If he's not healthy, slot in Shan.

I think we need 6 proper bowling options. I used to think hafeez was a viable option but he isn't showing the same levels post ban. You can not trust him, Malik or haris to bowl 5 overs for 23 if someone is having an off day. Somebody will just seriously get after them.
And we don't have a hitter
I think we have to back faheem for the next 5 months giving him maximum exposure and get him in the line up in place of Malik or hafeez ( Imad can start batting higher) his bowling is ok

I'm not sure how they're gonna develop Faheem. While he has a lot of potential, he hasn't shown any discipline or mental shrewdness in the batting department. Currently, the optimal choice would be to play him as a third seamer and just slot him up the order if there's a base set and tell him to bat out the overs.

It's hard to win in these countries where you don't have batters who can play pace well.

One win and a thousand losses.

I think the best way to sum up Misbah's ODI captaincy is the team's showing in the 2013 CT - Waqar Younis also played his part as well. There with some horrid selections - for instance with Farhat and a very raw Umar Amin.

This was by far Pakistan's worst ever side on paper and inevitably the side's worst ever showing in an ICC tournament. Speaking of which lets run through the side's showing in England over the last 20 years:

1999 WC - Runners Up
2004 CT - Semis
2009 WT20 - Winners
2013 - Group Stage & Lost every game - Misbah's team
2017 CT - Winners

It is apparent from the above that England is Pakistan's happy hunting ground, having reached at least semis in every tournament, except in 2013 - and it is of no coincidence that side just happened to be led by Misbah.

It's imperative that even the most staunchest supporters of Misbah (especially Major) come to terms that this wasn't just any failure, but like a criminal offence in cricket terms to come up with such a showing in Pakistan's happy hunting ground. It's not like the other captains in those other tournaments (on the list) were exactly Imran Khan calibre, not even close as a matter of fact, they were also very mediocre like Inzy and Sarfraz needless to say. Anyone with an impartial cricketing mind will see that this epitomises Misbah's incompetence as an ODI skipper.

What? We've done much worse with Sarfraz and Mickey. Misbah was a far better test captain and was a very consistent batsman who scored runs a lot. He was the reason we beat NZ in NZ in 2010/11.- stabilized our batting order back then. And of course we were difficult to beat in UAE

Sarfraz is a terrible captain in comparison.

What did Misbah do for Pakistan's future? All he did was bring a bunch of old heads that served his purpose in UAE. Sarfaraz has no reliable batsmen. Misbah left him with a mental midget and a limited turtle.

Not only did Sarfaraz have to take over captaincy, he, along with Mickey, also have to rebuild the team which takes years.

And people expect them to start winning immediately? Please.

We won that series unfairly using the services of chuckers Ajmal and Hafeez, the first match we won clearly shows that and the 1 run win we barely scrapped by in the second ODI isn't convincing.

I am much happier with this result because the only chucker Hafeez barely bowled now, and its a 5 match series compared to a 3 match one which is not a strong metric.

Because they don't like to include Windies
