Sarfraz Ahmed speaking after Pakistan beat WI in the second ODI:

"There's a lot of pressure when you lose a match and the series is on the line. The team played well, it was an outstanding innings by Babar and then Imad helped to finish well. Hasan Ali and the bowlers did really well too."

"It's not about scolding players but there's a few young players in the team and they are trying to learn. I am treating them as my younger brothers and trying to take them along so it's necessary to push them a little. It's an important series for us and we can't relax otherwise things will become difficult for us."

"It's a good sign that the youngsters are coming forward and performing and helping Pakistan to win matches."

"We will give our all in the final match. We'll sit down and talk about our mistakes in this game. If one of the openers had stayed at the crease then our score could have been better."

"In the first match, the pitch played really well but today it was slower and there was some turn. It's becoming slower day by day."

Babar Azam:

"My aim was to give my 100%. After early wickets fell, I just wanted to make sure we bat the fifty overs and we finished well."

"When Saifi bhai was with me, he emphasised on the need to take the innings deep. My plan was to stay till the last over."

"I wanted to build partnerships after the early wickets and make sure I finish the innings."

"I bat at whichever spot the teams requires me to play at and give my all."

We need to introduce young bowlers like Bashir, Irfan and Ehtisham in the team to put pressure on Amir. He showed urgency in this match and we'll see more of it the more he's challenged. If they outperform him then he deserves to be benched/dropped.

So his shouting and yelling and disappointment after each delivery is only for the youngsters? :shafiq

As per him. :malik

This guy is going in same Hollywood route - all the speeches for audience. Younger players are coming forward & he is pushing them down .....

Anyway, sometimes keeping calm is more helpful fuel for a bowler than constant chattering. Sarfu should realize that he is not only WK now, he is the Captain as well.

Continue to be excited by Babar Azam.

With multiple successful tours under his belt, he isn't fading away like the rest of Pakistan's batting talent.

It sure is a good sign and Pakistan should look to give chances to more youngsters in place of TTFs.

just like i thought. babar saying and diing the right thing.
at 125-4 we have seen many a pak innings subside to 220 all out. he had to stay there and leave any risk taking to others.
people wanna call it selfish when it is the right call.
if and when we are 170-2 after say 30 overs u will see a different tempo

Disappointed with his performance?

Disappointed with his performance?

No, I can see the gradual improvement but he needs to show more urgency. Can't just carry him because he has great potential. Introducing actual competition will only make him develop faster. Regardless, we need to introduce young bowlers anyway. Those three are the future.

His pace has increased but control is not good

Rashid Latif said a interesting thing about waqar's analysis of Amir that bowling machine can swing the ball without having hands or head. He says that most important thing is release.

Babar does great again at #3

dunno what the heck is wrong with team managemment

PCB pushing on with finding more raw talent. Had to share this. What a great effort Pepsi have done. Cricket is coming back strong in Pakistan again. Good signs.
