What's new

"It's always been my point of view that we need foreign coaches for the National team": Najam Sethi

Mickey Arthur has a contract with Derbyshire till 2025. Is he willing to break that for Pakistan especially since the Pakistan job has zero job security and the manner in which his contract was not renewed in 2019?

He signed a three year extension with Derbyshire a few weeks ago.
He would be crazy to throw that away for the insecurities associated with being Pakistan coach.

I think the reason why he has asked some time from the PCB to make his final decision is to work out how it is contractually possible to work for PCB

Yes because this will solve our long term problems. The whole issue we have is long term and we need a plan. A vision. Sethi is a baba from the 20th century. He has no idea. I mean appointed afridi just shows is how much he knows. Its all talk. These people sit on the side lines and say "mujhay putta hay etc etc.. " he's a traitor and a incompetent.

Taking us back ten years then claiming he knows what he is doing..

Like KingKhanWC said. This is adhocism and short term thinking.

You see most people on this forum have the same or perhaps more knowledge than sethi..but we are fans who want instant wins. His mentality is that of an Internet cricket fan. No real vision or care..hell these people don't care about anything but the next 6 months. We are done. Back to 2010..welcome to the past..

I mean just imagine these babus main slogan was welcome to the past..I mean just think about that for a second..who in their right colllective mind thinks improvement means going back to a broken failed system? I mean would you uninstall windows 10 and install windows 95 just because you could use that version?

It reminds me of an incident many years ago. I was working I higher education and was tasked with replacing all the old Microsoft pcs with new software upgrades and getting virtual machines etc setup..I met an old professor who's work was stored on an old pc running windows 95. I told him we could port everything off it and install a virtual desktop so he could access his old program and work from anywhere..he refused. To the point he demanded we stop missing around with his stuff..

Ultimately we prevailrf but nor after some "sur kapahi"..this is sethi baba and the other useless babay. These people should be sent to jail not given high posts..

Finally what coach? Who cares? Do you think a foreign coach can sort out our domestic structure? Or our youn players? Or the pitches? No..end of..two days have proven sethi knows diddly squat..just like his useless babu boss..

Micky Arthur favorite to take over Saqlain and end the farcical tea sipping regime, radical steps being taken in PCB but the irony is this may go haywire with Federal Govt. Walking on thin ice

Short termism at its best...

What are they supposed to do?

“Oh we might not be in power very soon so let’s not do anything about this mess!”

The coach whether Foreign or local will not make any difference without having the raw materials. They will be no better or worse than Saqi.

Coaches make a huge difference. In Todays time, every player is carefully studied through data and visual analysis to make right plans and counter the strategy. There is a team behind all this.

I feel Saqlain was doing Zilch, just vibes and a motivational speaker

So let's assume we pick the best coach in the World, tell what difference he will make. Will our pacers stop breaking down, will our batsman dominate good bowlers, will our spinners spin the ball. Its the captain that will or won't make a difference.

We get your point coaches make little to no difference.

In cricket that is true. Ultimately it comes down to the captain. It doesn't have to be the coach that says we will be positive. Afridi can instill confidence into players by saying that no matter what you won't be dropped so go and play

The selectors and team management gave a lot of confidence support to the likes of Khusdil Shah, Asif Ali and Haider Ali inspite of their inconsistency. Eventually their continued selection turned out to be damaging for their confidence and self esteem. Sometimes players have to be dropped for their own good.

Which is what should happen because when you chose someone you need to give confidence. If that doesn't work onto the next guys. The bit that people forget is that you can't manufacture natural talent, your domestic and management can maximise its impact but as they saying goes you can't polish *****. Most of our fickle fans get sucked in by the latest fads and obviously the success of BM for England has raised the question of why can't we do it, well for a start England have a lot of talented players, we don't. By going helter-skelter isn't going to work for us because we don't have the players and if we pick Sharjeeel or Azam, will that work, not in my opinion. What we do need is Babar and the management to be positive and not play on terrible wickets. You may lose on good wickets but eventually we will find players that can play.
