With both superstars freshly coming off ducks in their must win game. I feel like it's going to be between Kohli vs De Villiers, whoever performs with the bat will take their respective teams to the semis. Both have been in torrid form of late, but I feel like both will want to singlehandedly win the virtual quarterfinal.

Although history tells that Kohli is a bigger match winner, its hard for someone like batsmen of De Villiers calibre to have a lean patch for this long according to the stats game.

It will either be a Kohli masterclass to take them home or a vintage ABD destroying the opposition class.

Due to the timid mindset of Saffers, I feel like it will be Kohli to take India to semis while a dejected de villiers will resign from captaincy of ODI team.

For a change I certainly would want to see ABD doing a KP here.

What do you think?

Expect some blockbuster threads tomorrow..

And lots of fan war..

But I dont see South Africa winning it..India are favourites.

If RSA bats first it would work in Kohli's advantage and if they bat second then history proves they are not good chasers in crunch games esp with rain around and their ill fate with D/L.

I hope rain stays away and we have a full match, I like DeKock, ABD and Rabada as players but hopefully India wins this match tomorrow.

Flat track means india will win, otherwise SA.

SA will outbat India on pure flat tracks . If there is assistance for spin I expect us to go through

I hope it's not an out and out flat track and SA bat first on that pitch, or else ABD and SA could absolutely smack India bowlers all around like they did in the decider of the ODI series back in 2015. I still remember that match. That was a very close series with both teams fighting nail and tooth. I was so anxiously waiting for the decider expecting another nailbitting finish. SA batted first and that's it. I saved a lot of time as I didn't have to watch India's innings later. But if India bat first and score 315+, they can choke SA on the same flat track. Hope SA win the toss tomorrow(assuming they bowl first).

If Amla, de Kock and du Plessis do the dirty work at the top, Platform King could bat India out of the Champions Trophy.

If it is a flat track and RSA bat 1st. Kohli will chase whatever RSA post. AB or no AB would be irrelevant.
If it is a flat track and India bat 1st. India will smash Saffer bowling attack. AB might chase it. But Indian spinners can close it.

If there is some swing in air and RSA bat 1st. AB will smash Indian pacers. Kohli will suffer vs Rabada/Parnell tho.
If there is some swing in air and India bat 1st. Kohli will suffer hard, might get out in single digits. AB should close it here.

In any case, a cracker of a game between two top teams. My money is on India (flat tracks). They will out bat a choking RSA side.

Completly opposite with whatever you said. you dnt know much of indian team. it seems like you havent watced them playing at all. Infact if its flat tracks ab and company will smash all indiam bowlers like lankans and many other ocassion and if there is little bit swing or spin in track then our bowlers can atleast contain them and our batsman are technical sound enough to tackle any bowling line up. . its just our bowling needs little bit of help out of the pitch
One thing you said is right india will chase whatever the total and second that it will be a cracker of a game.

Two very good teams but I'd fancy RSA winning. South Africa have more match winners in their team, Hashim, AB, De Kock, Tahir, Morne, Rabada can all single handedly win games, that is even if you discount Faf and Morris.

India as usual will be heavily reliant on Virat Kohli, there are some players who can win games on their own like Rohit and Yuvraj but the consistency is lacking. The top order is also due a failure.

I'll prefer Rahane over Yuvraj and Ashwin over Pandya but I'm not sure if indian team will make any changes.

But also take in account that SA pace battery is very strong as well. Probably stronger than Indian.

In that case, it all boils down to who can play better in swinging conditions: QDK/Amla/Faf/ABD vs Rohit/Dhawan/Yuvi/Kohli etc. --> Barring a choke 9/10 Saffers bowlers will out bowl Indian bowlers and their batsmen have better techniques than Indians.

Hopefully we get all 50 overs and India loses on last ball :jm

de Villiers was just unlucky to play against Pakistan bowling attack to get a golden duck... he will fire up tomorrow for SURE!!! 156 (85) against kumar, bumrah, yadav, and ashwin..

Amla vs Kohli is the contest to watch!

Who will set the record straight this time and will not choke in a big tournament knock-out game?

King Kohli :kohli2 ... From last 2 days he was pumped up for this contest and performed like champion. Seeing decock & Amla play like rabbits under light was torturous being Ind fan, don't know how bad SA fans felt.

So it was just how it was expected to be. ABD crumbling under the pressure and took his team falling with him.

Kohli on the other hand, played a nice little hand to get them to the semi's.

Still believe Kohli is not in his best touch yet. Maybe semi will bring it out from him.

Waiting for ABD to resign and Faf be named the new captain.

The reason Virat is on an another level to others is, his sheer mental strength to absorb pressure. In today's match, he was not at all fluent but still fought it out and helped to see his team through, that is what it separates good players from truly great players.

Just, want him to erase the bad memories of previous English tour in the coming Test tour and keep on working and improving on his off-side game in the channel of corridor of uncertainty and overcome some of his weaknesses, specially for the test matches in England. Today, he shuffled a lot to cover that angle, but in test matches, I think he should have a different approach to counter those deliveries and may be play a little late of the back-foot.

Truly great player, fantastic batsman who you want to play for you in crucial encounters!

I still feel England in Tests will be a bane for Kohli. But as of now, he is putting up the fight and getting his team to win. Maybe India will win this CT, for that to happen the vintage Kohli has to arrive cause England will chase anything around 330 340 on these pitches. A vintage Kohli can turn 330 in to 370
