So both are fantastic openers who have helped modernize LOi batting for England.
I believe both have similar stats in ODI’s. Roy averages 38 with a 105 SR whilst Hales has a 37 average at a SR of 95.
The question is who do you think is better?
Hales without a doubt is a better hitter of the ball and a clean striker. Destructive on his day as we have experienced ourselves...
However, Roy is a better stroke player with a better balance and technique. Definitely more orthodox but still maintains similar stats to Hales and keeps up with the modern game.
Personally I prefer Roy and if he were to make his Test debut for England - I would think he would have a longer test career than Hales.
