Putting aside the politics and the tensions created by politicians and the media, it would appear that, going by the posts in this thread, the differences between Indians in different parts of India (eg North versus South) are greater than those between Pakistanis and Indians, and were it not for politics, the average Indian will get along far better with a Pakistani than with another Indian from a different region of India.
Wrong or correct?

We like to pull each others leg so don't take anything seriously here.

And true the North Indians will get along easily with the Pakistanis because of their language and culture similarities. South India has 4 different languages which are a lot different from each other. People from these states form their own gangs unless they interact in english or any other common language. Same with the north eastern guys.
And occasionally you will get those taunts like "machli khane waale log"etc when you go up north to Haryana.
