Both are two different type bowlers jofra is regarded as hostile express fast bowler while shaheen has decent pace bounce can swing the ball both ways
and can also reverse swing the ball.their stats are similar at this stage who do you think is better prospect jofra statsj.jpgsh.jpg

Shaheen can easily become Pakistan’s best fast bowler of the last 15 years. He has everything in his locker and the only thing that stands between him and 500+ international wickets is fitness.

If he can keep himself fit, and avoid doing stupid things like Asif and Amir, he will be in the team for a very, very long time.

However, Archer’s potential is mind-blowing. He can easily reach the level of Ambrose and other Caribbean bowlers of the 80s.

The pace at which he can bowl with his silky smooth action is unbelievable.

West Indies cricket shor themselves in the foot by letting him go and not giving him chances at the U-19 level. England have struck gold, but it’s important that they manage his workload.

He shouldn’t play T20s outside WT20s and IPL.
 
Dont insult Ambrose by comparing him with archer.Ambrose is top3 windies pacer ever along with Marshall and Garner.

Archer at best will be a wes hall or patrick Paterson good bowlers but tier 3 amongst windies Pacers

Archer is nowhere near Michael Holding or Andy Roberts, let alone Courtney Walsh. How are you even comparing him to a GOAT contender like Ambrose?

Both are top class bowlers and will rule the bowling charts in future.
 
Archer is being slightly overrated. He is talented, but I don't see him becoming an ATG. Maybe an England ATG, but not a world ATG. He failed miserably in New Zealand last year. South African pitches would have suited him better but he was injured.

Shaheen has pace, swings it both ways, accuracy and height. At the moment I reckon Shaheen will go further than Archer, Shaheen also has the advantage of age. By the time Shaheen is Archer's age, he will be much better than what Archer is at this age.
 
Actually archer' performance has gone down since first three test matches and for shaheen situation is exactly opposite he looked ordinary vs sa but has improved with the time

Man u seriously need to stop hyping up english players to the moon.

Its the same as PPers hyping up pakistani players.

Archer has great potential but so does shaheen. Infact shaheen potential is higher since most likely he will be injured less often compared to archer.

Especially since ur golden boy root is captain i dont see his career lasting longer then 7 years.

If archer wants to have a long career, he will need better support bowlers and a smarter captain who actually knows how to rotate bowlers.

You over hype and ovverate Indian and English players way too much. I doubt Archer will be better than Cummins. Never mind Ambrose.

Shaheen and archer will be the 2 stand out performers over a long period but shaheen looks less injury free

yes he will be as good as joffra archer. I really don't know how good he can be. Sometimes he looks as good as Courtney Walsh and some days he looks like Ravi rampaul.

shaheen can become better than shoaib from what I have seen. Ball is in his court.

Archer would be injured more often than not

His body is not ready for rig outs of test cricket. Hence I don’t see him playing enough cricket to become comparable with greats of the game.

he has attitude issues. He has a superiority complex. He thinks he is some macho Westside gangster lol. Even root was getting annoyed with him. He is built like a twig slender bender. Thinks he is some real tough guy cause he bowls fast.

The only thing I see standing between Shaheen and greatness plus 500 wickets are 1. PCB medical department as he is bound to be injured someday 2. Pakistan fielding

Your analysis is mind-blowing to say the least.

I've seen you say a lot of exaggerated stuff but not many come close to what you just said about Archer. Close to Ambrose? LOL. Idk what you have seen of him but he's not that different skill-wise and talent-wise compared to Shaheen. Don't bring up his wc winning nonsense either, that doesn't make him better than others who did not win the wc.

Hmm interesting.. that doesn’t match the trumpeting here by the biased fans who don’t consider Virat Kohli greatest of the game as he did not win a World Cup for his country. And the mind blowing thing is that he already is a World Cup and champions trophy winner

archer has been ruined. bowled into the ground like a junaid khan.
stress fractures can be career ending.
 
Both Archer and Shaheen are fairly new. It is too early to compare.

Both are talented and both should do great.
 
Probably not enough sample size to determine at the moment. The only thing I can think of that separates them is one plays for England and the other Pakistan. That may help Archer in terms of having a longer career/ playing more matches and proving himself. Pakistan unfortunately have had a lot of their promising players have their careers cut short recently, but that doesn't mean it'll happen with Shaheen
 
Archers breakthrough period was amazing, what an action - smooth, untroubled
and fast.

Overbowled now and already too much expected, the amount his name crops up when examining bad games/days in English cricket is too frequent - does England/Root now how to manage quality express pace?

Similarly with spin, no one on par with Swann, but aside from odi middle overs (containment), they struggle when attacking with it - Rashid might get more joy.
 
Naseem breakthrough period also exciting, quality of opposition when he has had success is low but there’s no doubt he catches batters out with the nip he gets - it’s onto them quickly.

Think he can have success in England this summer.

To be fair, the 2020 world cup final was a tie. Many, like me still can't easily grasp that England "won". Also, when you are discussing the GOAT, world cup titles do come into play.. but you have to significantly contribute for it to mean something.
 
Shaheen has got tremendous potential, pace, height , I think he will go on to become Pakistan's best quick over the coming years.


Archer a bowler of immense talent, effortless pace , repeatable action, reminds me of former Windies paceman winston benjamin who like archer was hot and cold, hopefully over the coming years archer will get more consistent in test cricket
 
Shaheen will be the better bowler. Shaheen actually seems the ball quite a bit and bowls intelligently. Archer is very reliant on pace . Archer just has shown the ability to sustain anything- even pace - in tests.
 
Before windies series, I went with Archer,. But now, I'll go with Shaheen, Archer is erratic, Shaheen is consistent and adapts really well.
 
Both are supremely talented but the at the moment Archer has delivered more. In all honesty im still not fully convinced that either will have long term careers!

Pakistan has a habit of producing bowlers who smash it on their way to 50/100 wickets then get found out and crumble. I really hope Shaheen doesn't end up being the same but will have to wait and see.

Archer seems very erratic and defensive. I wonder how he will cope after the inevitable 2-3 bad series that bowlers have. Will he be able to deal with the pressure? At the moment I think its likely that he will throw his toys out the pram at same point.
 
Shaheen post the acl injury hasn’t been the same

Poor guy

They over bowled him to death post injury.

I would say he needs a full year of recovery

Pace is up but where he lands now is totally different to what he used to.
