Just 2 50s this year in 13 innings at an average of 24.5, despite mostly batting on the flattest of tracks.

Even in T20s, he averages just 17 this year.

What's going on?

Out of nick. He has lavish natural ability and 'touch' players look all at sea when the touch isn't there. Remember Stokes' run of ducks? Now look at him.

you don't get "found out" after 100 odis

he is a terrific player and is simply going through a rough patch. he will bounce back.

His job is to tee off from ball one, he plays a high risk role in the team and these dips in form will happen.

Out of form. Given his ability to hit the ball anywhere in the field, how can he be found out when the pitches are mostly flat these days.

Jos buttler and david miller are two of the biggest chokers in world cricket atm .
Two talented cricketera but hardly ever come good in crunch situations . Absolutely lethal when there is hardly any pressure though

Temporarily out of form, but given the quality he possess it won't take much time before he gets back into his groove.

out of form maybe just needs to make some tweaks in his game and get a better mental approach to the game.

Out of form i guess but the lad is a huge underachiever

He's one of the natural striker of the ball i have ever seen, has got immense ability to play any strokes with ease but he haven't done justice to his talent yet

He's had a shockingly bad time in India, averaging under 13. Let's hope it doesn't change when he plays Pakistan next!

He's the sort of player who swings in the extremes. When down he cuts a despondent figure and it's written all over his face. On the other hand when he hits form, he can be devastating. Can never write him off, has played crucial roles more than once in wins against Pakistan.

He’s a nice lad but a fair weather star.
He’s not built to withstand the pressure that exists in the subcontinent.

Moeen should have been the captain after Morgan retired. Butler was always a terrible captain as I said from day 1. His form was ruined because of that.

He should have been the greatest limited overs cricketer in the world and this tournament should have been his prime. He's as good as devilliers and ahead of Maxwell and Klassen etc yet underperformed.

Moeen is fighting to barely be selected and you want him as captain?

Extremely poor form. He should have opened with Bairstow all through the tournament though. He was not going to regain his form batting No.5 or 6. Total waste of his talent.

Always been a master flat track bully who would have utilised the power plays much better than Malan.

Him batting at 5 made no sense.

Just a terrible run of form, luck and confidence this world cup.

He really isn't batting so badly, it's just the first time he looks to move up the gears either he picks the wrong shot or gets a pearler.

Somewhat comparable to Inzy's horror run in 2003.

He's an alltime white ball legend so will be back by next WT20

He loves batting against Pakistan.

Getting the feeling that century is on the cards.

Moeen shouldn't have been anywhere near the ODI team for years let alone captaining it.
