Just 20 years and what I have seen of him so far has been impressing. Looking forward to watch him against India in that T20 match!

Your thoughts on him?

excellent hitter, innovative morgan type player. could be a killer player on flatter wickets.

Looks like a very good bat, can hit it big with ease, very impressed

Looks good, but county cricket is different to international scene. Only time will tell if he is really good.

Definitely one to watch.

It also says on cricinfo that he was born in England. Typo?

His wikipedia & cricinfo profile both state that he was born in Taunton, but I'm sure i remember reading someone that he's a Saffer.

Collapsed under pressure like a Saffer in the semi, and final :kallis

If I remember correctly, he was hitting Imran Tahir out of the park one over :13:

Looks to be a good prospect. Let's see what he does in the upcoming T20 match.

Clean hitter of the cricket ball isn't he.

Looks yet another good English prospect.

He is a power hitter but resorts to harebrained lap shots. :umarakmal

Very promising talent. This wc is his chance to make a name for himself

Someone here has eyes for talent :)

Anyways good batting by the youngster, but he struggled against Ajmal and Gul and he will probably struggle again on the slow wickets of SL.

Some of those sixes, wow!!! I have rarely seen sixes hit with so little effort. Serious talent.

Jos Buttler´s sixes were just unbelievable man:O! What an innings yesterday:14:!

I think he will struggle in SL against spinners. He was owned by our spinners in UAE.

Very good start to his NZ-tour. Scored in both side matches at an impressive rate and also today he played a good cameo. Must be one of the cleanest hitters in world cricket.

Crazy hitting by the youngster beauty! 47 runs from 16 balls today against kiwis! Had he connected better on the last ball it would have been the fastes half century in ODIs.

Batted really well today under pressure. Rode his luck a bit but took England home in the end.

great innings by him yesterday, but still feel sick and will never forgive him for the 1st ball duck v India

Jos Buttler's future in ODI?

I was looking at his list A average and strike rate and i am still in shock :p 51 average and 123 strike rate!!! when i checked his one day strike rate it's more than many players t20 strike rate i mean 126!!! although his one day average is in 20s

.

Need to give him a really consistent run, he will come good eventually. Age 23 so plenty of career in this kid.

Jos Buttler future in ODI?

He is improving and may be reach his average to that of his list A average in future. His recent last so innings were impressive.

He has tremendous hitting ability however it will be much much harder to retain that kind of strike rate in International cricket hence his current average. He will need to improve his shot selection otherwise will get dropped.

I liked him as a limited overs players until he played what I think is the "worst shot"to be ever played in cricket by someone with batting ability in that CT final game. He is a choker of the highest class and England can not rely on him to finish games. Either bump him up the order or drop him.

Consistency is his problem , but no doubt he is an impact player. he can win you games.

Can't expect clutch from a dude who looks like Ryan Philippe. :nasser

power hitter, saw him belting some gigantic sixes against India. Looks sloppy behind the stumps thou !

If he sorts out his shot selection and doesn't try too many innovative strokes he will be one of England's best in the shorter formats.

Has great hitting ability with very quick hands.

I rate Buttler. He's a really key LO player for ENG. Love that 'ramp' shot he plays over the keeper's head.

Hes a good hitter and England need players like him in LOI

A solid hitter when in touch. Will struggle against slow bowlers. But still perfect for Poms at number 6 - 8

45 in 36 balls today to help his team post a total of 290+ today. He is improving!

Jos Buttler's future in ODI?

I see his future as a fantastic ODI batsman. I see him averaging above 40s in ODIs for sure!

Last 5 scores in one day: 49, 34*,42, 65*, 75

a very handy batsman in lower order

He could be called up to tests soon he has really matured he doesnt try any of those stupid ramp shots anymore that much. Handy keeper

Going from strength to strength.

I generally distrust limited overs specialists and suspect that ultimately they are mentally fragile cowlashers, but it's difficult to argue with this much good batting.

Very good player indeed. Has a bright future in all formats.

Fantastic power hitter and has also shown that he's capable of adapting to different situations.

he is very very good player since the beginnin , when he debut test made 80+ score, and i am watching him Friends life torunament which was england t20 tournament, really a good batsman

very good player and a sensible head too, but i must say i am mighty impressed with james taylor. some great young batsmen to come out of England root, ballance, now taylor. no other team has such quality young players coming through. Good for eng

A very good limited over batsmen...He is on his way to become at least a poor man's Ab De Villiers.

Should look to play along th ground. These chips in the air are dangerous.

He's a game-changer. Only a matter of time before he wins England a Test by smashing a double hundred in 2 sessions. England have a supreme talent on their hands.

Yeah, he's got that Botham factor with the bat. Not against strong fast attacks, but I can see him smashing moderate bowling sides in the way you describe.

7 years on, Buttler is showing his class:)

He was always class apart in limited overs cricket. His strike rate & ability to hit effortless sixes always stands out among English batsmen.
Now with more experience he is playing more mature knocks.
If i am not wrong yesterday was first time he played 100+ balls in odi hence scored his slowest hundred.
Compared to all England players he looks most natural player against spin bowling.
One thing I noticed is that he rarely plays sweep shots & I believe he is yet to master that shot hence we don't see him playing sweep against spin/fast bowlers like ab devilliers plays. Hopefully he master that shot just like ab devillers did during middle of his career.

He is a power hitter. The andrew symonds of today. There is nothing more to his game. He doesnt even move his feet to have a decent test career.
