"Junaid Khan's bowling action is questionable" : Basit Ali [#82]

The action has always been the same. A little jerky.

Not sure he'll get called on it.

Looked okay to me from the side on view. From the back angle it even looked like Hafeez was still chucking.

Yeah Hafeez looks like having gone back to his old action
 
It looks fine to me and besides its impossible to tell over TV. He's bowling and hasn't been called so suggests to me it's fine
 
Hafeez's looked fishy many times.Junaids was always like this.So believe he will get away with this
 
He's bowling in 120s. Not sure why he needs to chuck (if he is indeed)?

He's been getting away in the past. But today on many occasions it was as blatant as it can get!

May last a few series more if he doesn't do it too often. But there's a high probability he'll get called.

Hafeez is less than Junaid.
 
His action was fine in the first 4 overs then suddenly it became worst.
Hope he gets away with it, he seem to be in good form for us.

Was chucking at the death, and always does when he bowls his effort balls, i.e. when he tries to bowl very fast or fire those yorkers in.
 
Will get called by the end of this year if he doesn't mend his ways.
 
Why do you want to get medicore bowler banned? If batsman doesn't have a problem with it then who cares...

when we question the ashwin bowling action you were repeatedly saying at that time there is icc and

umpire panel who is there and watching the bowling action of each and every bowler closely does not you

should apply this formula their .you personal hate is again showing against junaid

Ashwin WAS chucking in the Asia Cup to make a point, he even hinted at himself in an interview during the tournament... There's nothing wrong with his action now IMO.

How can Bumrah even chuck with that action? Bumrah action is unsual like Malinga( not same but unusual) and both can't chuck with their natural action.

Ashwin has the cleanest action of a spinner in world cricket. Anyone who questions his action has absolutely no credibility at all and is just using a *** for tat approach

Bumrah is slingy action like Malinga and no one can chuck with that action

If Junaid were chucking he would have been reported right after the 2nd ODI. Post Ajaml, there's too much scrutiny on Pak bowlers. Some youtube experts 's comments "his chucking is so blatant" blah blah are OTT like suddenly all cameras and umpires cannot catch what they can on youtube lol

Let's stop being biased for a while.

Any cricket follower can spot his blatant chucks -- you'd have to be quite biased to ignore that and claim he doesn't.

I saw him bowl for the first time this series and I was shocked how he's getting away with it.

Will be reported soon.

:) you know the clue. Even Mac was borderline 15 degree ......

No Umpire'll ever catch a fast bowler unless there is a noticeable "jerk". JK is a medium pace BOWLER; not sure I'll say the same if he is fast-medium .......
 
He has been chucking from day one. Some posters were in denial. Chucks even more now.

Probably, only reason why he is still going to play 5th ODI :)

ICC gave Ajmal highest level of leniency, almost unfair to any other nation - check that WC T20 match against WI - he wasn't called even then.

As usual, some Buzurgs advised him, so he went to County & in front of MCC elite snobs bowled 600+ overs with that action .............

Ashwin doesn't chuck.

As far as Junaid is concerned, he has hardly played international cricket ever since ICC got serious about chuckers in August-September 2014. Had he played regularly over the last two years, he would definitely have been reported by now and that is why I believe that if he doesn't fix his action, he will get reported by the end of this year.

Can he get away with? Maybe, since it is difficult for the umpires to stop >15 degree straightening in seamers, but at the same time, the likes of Taskin etc. did get reported.

What is not disputable is that Junaid is 100% beyond the legal limit.

Agree. Remember when BCCI 'rested' Ashwin? On his return, he's bowling action had been modified.

PCB are incompetant.

They also got rid of Ojha who was suspect. The problem is that even if Ashwin gets tested, people will still complain that he didn't get banned because of BCCI. Some people will be satisfied only if he gets banned, even though he has the cleanest action in the game today.

My brother and I have been discussing this from the start of this series and we both think that Junaid is chucking. I will be surprised if ICC do not take any action after this series.

I think if he was chucking he would have been called already in Australia.

Although not useful chucking or no chucking.
 
Difficult for the umpires to call out pacers who chuck, but he was lucky that he missed international cricket during 2014-2015, and that is when the chucking crackdown was in full force and all the suspects in the international circuit were caught.
 
So Chucker retains his spot in ODIs. Looks like the inevitable thrashing in the Champions Trophy will finally close his chapter.

He has always been a certified choker and has never performed in any ICC tournament, and I don't see the tradition discontinuing in the upcoming Champions Trophy.
 
Lol not surprised who have bump this thread .According to icc rules he is still clear and crystal and only bowler in the pakistan team currently who have average of 27 with the bowl after 70+wickets in odis

Embarrassing. Junaid is not a chucker if he is as mediocre as you make him out to be because his failures are then down to his mediocrity rather than him choking under the pressure.

As for his action, he should have it checked on his own accord and have it rectified if necessary. Would be a big blow if Pakistan don't have him and Amir opening the bowling in England.

I hope he gets called in the West Indies and cleared before the CT so we can get this over with.

He is a chucker, and he is mediocre in bilateral series but absolutely rubbish in tournaments. Hence, both a chucker and a choker. Indeed it will be a big blow to see him waste the new ball in the Champions Trophy in England due to his inability to swing the ball an inch. We already saw that 4 years ago, when all seamers were able to swing the ball in the 2013 Champions Trophy except for Junaid.

Did you see him swing the ball in Australia or have you been in hibernation ever since that 2013 Champions Trophy? If you have been, you must clearly remember him destroying India in India and South Africa in South Africa as well.

Junaid Khan has hardly played 60 ODI matches. Out of that, a very small portion has been played in these tournaments, you speak of. I would say that you're being totally unreasonable but at the end of the day, you are simply Mamoon.
