Just because Shoaib Malik did not perform as captain does NOT mean Sarfaraz Ahmed is a good captain

I agree with this. Sadly people will use Sarfaraz as an excuse for the 2 defeats. We were in a position in both games to chase the score. The captaincy from Malik has not been great , he could have done better. But we still should have won the games.

Sarfraz is a very good T20 captain.

While Sarfraz is very animated, Malik is the other extreme I feel. When the going gets tough, he disappears.

Dude, what are you on? Sure we won CT but that had nothing to do with his captaincy - our players like Amir, Fakhar, Hafeez all performed out of their skin.

After that he's been Terrible in ODIs - Asia Cup debaxle 5-0 loss to NZ etc. He's ok for T20s but awful for Tests and ODIs.

Sarfaraz is great as a T20 captain where he doesn’t have to think a lot, but he is clueless in ODIs & more specifically in Tests & that talks a lot about him as a bad strategist. We should retain him in the ODIs till the World cup (for lack of better option) but not beyond that.

Sarfraz is not a good captain because Malik failed.

Sarfraz is a good T20 captain because he took Pakistan to no1 in that format, winning 11 series straight.

Sarfraz is a bad ODI and Test captain because has has taken Pakistan to 6th and 7th in those formats.

Conclusion, drop him for ODIs and Tests and play him only for T20s.

Pakistan were 8th in odis and 6th in tests when he took over.

Now we are 5th and 7th in these two formats.

Dont understand how this makes him a bad odi captain when we climbed 3 ranking places under him.

It just means that whoever the captain is, its the team that matters more...

Both defeats had one very common element..

The bowling performance.

How can you blame bowling if you lost by 6 and 7 runs. Bowlers will not always restrict opposition to 160 and under.
