..and we are sick of it. We are in 2017 & still stuck with the likes of Kamran, Hafeez & Malik. Meanwhile, Fakhar is warming the bench.

When will Pak cricket ever move forward??

Disgusted.

Kya ghatiya selection hai ours is the worst cricket team old has beens who have history of failure are representing the team these guys should be banned from cricket. shame on the selectors and the captain sarfraz

When will you give international exposure to Fakhar Zaman?
Next is Champions Trophie, of course you cannot ask a new player to come in and score runs there?

Its now or never!

Add Sohail Tanvir as well

Class of 2007 World T20 reunites

And since there is no qualifying masla in T20 right now, whats the harm in playing Rumman Raees and Usman Shinwari?
What will you achieve by playing Wahab?

Pak team is spineless!

How can you complain about Malik being in the side?? He has been our most consistent player, deserves to be in the side

Well with the squad that was picked it was likely that this would have been the final playing 11. With Hafeez not bowling the match up really only was Fakhar as a batsman vs Hafeez the batsman. Hafeez wudnt hv been picked to warm the bench. Fakhar will have to hope he fails if he is to play.

Rumman should have been playing instead of Tanvir or Wahab

You can't complain when half of you kickstart a "Bring back (discarded player name)" thread once they are dropped.

The fans play a part in constantly keeping them in the reckoning.

The biggest troll is Malik.

He's trolling not only the public, but also selectors and the PCB since the 90s!. :))) :))) :)))

Embarassing innings from Hafeez. Tail ender would have done better.

PCB is the greenest cricket board in the world - its recycling policy is unmatched.

True. I mean in every thread you still have Akmal/Malik/Tanvir supporters so why blame the selectors?

im not even watching the Pakistani innings- first time in a long long time when I have time and am not watching a Pak cricket match

its just no fun watching Shehzad, Kamran Akmal, Hafeez and Malik all together anymore

Shobby is a true patriot his performance rises when playing for his country.

Hafeez on the other hand is finished at this level. Needs to be booted out permanently.

Malik and Kami are the only two that can play T20 tempo in this line up.

Deserve to be there.

It is sad. The fact that these guys are so poor in the big tournaments or in big moments, the damage they cause is not just by their performance, but by serving as poor role models to junior players.

These guys are worse than the spot fixers. They've caused far more damage to our cricket team by promoting a culture of nepotism, mediocrity, and sifaarish. Our cricket has reached the bottom because of these TTFs.

Malik merits his place in the team. Kami has earned his selection imo, but I understand those why people don't want him in the team.

Failed thread - as long as Malik is put in the list along with MoHa. Totally different class - today B'waite hit 34 of 27 & he looked like monster, Malik scored 38 of 29 ....... Even today, without Malik, Narine & Badree could have made it really tough.

Kamran & Ahmed have earned their spots, can't complain. Had SK & Latif not spoiled it, these two won't have been playing.

True, disgusting to see the likes of M Hafeez playing for the national team and blocking a chance of a youngster like Fakhar Zaman.

Malik shouldn't be lumped in this group especially with someone as unworthy as Hafeez.

He's been performing well for a while now.

Arsalan Pro his lack of ghairat was shown when he said he performed better as an all rounder in Australia. When he took no wickets in 5 games and had one good innings out of 5. Like many Pakistani cricketers who are hitting the twilight of their career. Hafeez just cant let go his last hurrah was against England in the UAE in 2015. He will carry on shamelessly even if he carries on failing unless the selectors boot him out.

Pakistani players never know when their time is up. Even Misbah is showing this.

Malik has been a beast since his return, and only an idiot would call for him to be dropped right now.

Kamran and Shehzad have earned it, though I'd start Fakhar over Shehzad in T20Is.

Hafeez and Tanvir have no place in the side whatsoever.

And only God knows when the selectors will boot him out, they will keep him for the Champions Trophy saying that he is too senior to be dropped from a major tournament.

Well, two of them were crucial to Pakistan winning the match. I'm not a fan of Kamran or Malik but if they keep doing well, I can't criticize them just because I don't like them personally.

Kammy was horrible in the field today. Scored only 22 runs in a low chase when he should have batted for much longer.

The less said about Hafeez, the better.

Can you please elaborate how was Kami crucial in Pakistan winning today? Did you just follow the match on cricinfo?

Kami dropped Pollard

Kami had several misfields in the outfield

Kami had a slow tuk tuk start to his innings, only increased his run rate by smashing Badree for a four and a six and then got caught well inside the boundary off a full-toss

Indeed helped our cause in the match :14:

Indeed. There timely exits did.

All three of them in the same lineup is just too much.

At least an argument can be made for Kamran on the basis of his domestic performances - despite his 'fitness'.

Malik has been doing well every now and then since his comeback.

But Hafeez - inexplicable.

Oh please stop with this Pakistani mentality. You will only see our country field unfit players.

Not giving the legend :kakmal a pass, just saying that at least he's racked up the runs so at least there is some reason for him to be there.

The major problem with unfit players is their attitude. Didn't have an issue with Sharjeel being in the side because he was improving his fitness with time. Sadly, others seem to be headed in the opposite direction.

Hafeez, Tanvir, Akmal and Shehzad add nothing to the team. Malik still does his job decently well.

All four of these players should be dropped. Might as well play a youngster who has potential and can develop over the years rather than continue with the dead weight that contribute nothing and have no growth potential either.

Funny how people will pick on Shoaib Malik and Sohail Tanvir and not Wahab Riaz. Wahab has consistently been our worst LOI bowler since WC 2015.

Wahab Riaz in last 2 years in ODI:

Played: 23
Wickets: 24
Average: 42.54
Economy: 5.50

Wahab Riaz in last 2 years in T20

Played: 17
Wickets: 20
Average: 27.30
Economy: 8.46

Compare this to Shoaib Malik in his last 2 years in ODIs:

Played: 28
Runs: 1058
Average: 55.68
Strike Rate: 101.73

Shoaib Malik in last 2 years in T20s

Played: 24
Runs: 627
Average: 44.78
Strike Rate: 128.74

But Shoaib Malik is a curse to Pakistan cricket and a TTF while Wahab Riaz is considered a potent bowler and indispensable to our attack. Shoaib Malik gets hate on this forum just because he's Shoaib Malik. He's our best LOI player right now.

International T20 as a format is taken seriously by Pakistan only, as demonstrated by the number of senior players who are holding on to it like a lifeline. Most other team use the format to blood new talent or future leaders.
So by that account, the fact that you have three guys who have been playing well over a decade, in the squad is overkill.

Shoiab Malik is the only player who managed somehow to replicate his batting according to modern day cricket. He is serving in a best possible manner for Pakistan. On the other hand Hafeez, Shehzad ,and Kamran is nothing but just a backward step. We need some new blood in atleast in T20 format.

Love how Malik keeps getting grouped with people like Hafeez who have been deadwood for a couple of years and Kamran who has been deadwood for a decade but let's see how he does this time.

Malik has been our best player for two years now and played a key role in the our two ODI wins in England and Australia, dispelling the myths that he can only perform against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

Not Malik's biggest fan but he has been scoring runs, in England he was average though tbh his average was boosted by the not outs and he scored some runs I believe in a dead rubber. Thing is, fans do not have patience with him given that the man made his debut in 1999 so anything less than a 40-50 in ODI's or 30 in T20I's will be considered a failure. After all these games we'd actually expect a high level of consistency from him but in the instances he doesn't score or does score runs fans will overly criticize or overrate.

The three of them combined are not a way forward. Its a mediocre lot in general. I dont like the fact that these guys are the seniors guiding a team. All three are know to have frailties when the going gets tough. Against the grain, Pakistan needs to make a clean break from the past.

I dont criticize Malik, but its easy to see when his runs come. When chasing a low total he goes out there to see us through at strike rate of 110 - 120. on the rare occasions when we bat well, he is sent to boost the score and is typically dismissed with a 10 off 5 balls. Much like hafeez, barring that one odi in australia when Pakistan was chasing a low score, he failed all four odi's when the going was a little tough, even when he had the cushion of a rapid start by sharjeel

But like others he also failed in the other 4 matches. His knock of 37 at a SR of 75 when chasing 360 was cringeworthy to watch.

He is useful to have when we have a good start and spinners are bowling in tandem or when we are chasing 5-6 RPO but otherwise his weaknesses get exposed.

Still one of the better players we have but should hope to find his replacement soon.

why is Malik in this list, and Kamran has proved himself domestically like it or not, he may have failed previously in int. cricket, but if you do not give opportunities to people to go back and work on their game and come back stronger, than what is the point, regardless of whether it is once or thrice or however many times.

Hafeez has been dropped today, how long it will take us to drop Kami who is a proven failure at International stage no matter how many runs he makes in domestics & PSL.

What a glorious knock today

This is pretty much how Malik operates these days unfortunately. Mediocre batsmen all around and fans have to find scraps of comfort in his middle of the road nothing type score

Yes! I agree with you finally

Shoaib Malik is our solid batsman right now.

I think he has made slight adjustments to his batting as well particularly with his pull shot and batting stance against pace, Even looked ominous in Australia series. Too bad that he has been shinning when he is 35years of age and not earlier. Nevertheless, Hope he can perform till 2019.

Enough is enough. Pathetic Hafeez & bottler Malik need to go.

But I am willing to bet at least one of these blokes will be around for the next world cup due to their 'experience'.

Remember when our two "senior pros" in our ODI middle order was Inzamam and Yousuf ?

Well now our two senior pros are Hafeez and Malik - god help us.

Two bloody bottlers when the going gets tough. 33 years of international experience between us. Please LEAVE NOW and end the torture of your two utterly mediocre careers.

Hear hear

STILL not able to take any responsibility..after all these years.

This is going to happen soon, Akmal is going to be back in the Pakistan team after this series
