Thing is, fans do not have patience with him given that the man made his debut in 1999 so anything less than a 40-50 in ODI's or 30 in T20I's will be considered a failure. After all these games we'd actually expect a high level of consistency from him but in the instances he doesn't score or does score runs fans will overly criticize or overrate.

The three of them combined are not a way forward. Its a mediocre lot in general. I dont like the fact that these guys are the seniors guiding a team. All three are know to have frailties when the going gets tough. Against the grain, Pakistan needs to make a clean break from the past.

I dont criticize Malik, but its easy to see when his runs come. When chasing a low total he goes out there to see us through at strike rate of 110 - 120. on the rare occasions when we bat well, he is sent to boost the score and is typically dismissed with a 10 off 5 balls. Much like hafeez, barring that one odi in australia when Pakistan was chasing a low score, he failed all four odi's when the going was a little tough, even when he had the cushion of a rapid start by sharjeel
