Trust me, Imad will be promoting himself to number 5/6 given the gaping hole in the national team in our middle order. If he doesn't, he'll be the biggest idiot of all time.

He probably should but taking into account the last season where he batted at no 7 more often than not, it would be difficult to say. There has been a hole in the national team for those positions for sometime now but, Imad has rarely played himself consistently in top 5/6 even when he could have.

Surprisingly he played at no 4 in the opening match of 2020 season, scored an impactful 50 of 30 balls allowing his side to chase over 200 only to move himself to no 7 for the rest of the tournament. Then again promoted himself to no 5 in the playoffs making 27* off 16 to get his team to a super over.

Wasim Akram barely works with any quicks these days. Some rubbish chats in the morning about line and length don’t count. I also feel Arshad Iqbal is good but overrated. If he was 3 inches shorter, no one would give him any bother. M Ilyas has potential despite being exceedingly short. He’s smart and accurate. But short.

From the batsmen, you’re right that only one will come good. Qasim Akram will be that person, even though I don’t particularly rate him. Mark this post.

Ilyas is more developed than Arshad but he needs to figure out where he's gonna bowl.

Since Jordan has left, Yamin's spot is guaranteed in the playing XI for a pacer who can bowl in the powerplay.

So only one of Arshad or Ilyas will play. Arshad isn't as accurate as Ilyas but he's less likely to get tonked around because any small mistake Ilyas makes in length will cost him big time.

However, I still think that Ilyas deserves to play ahead of Arshad seeing as he was a first choice pacer for MS.

I doubt Qasim Akram will prove himself with the bat at all, his domestic record is awful to say the least.

I think Danish Aziz will get chances early on because KK would want someone in the MO alongside Imad to chase down targets. They are notably missing a power-hitter, and Danish is probably the only person they have in their squad to fit into that role.

Zeeshan and Danish would get rotated frequently until one of them takes the spot.
