I hate to admit it but our upcoming young batsmen are well below par. The most hyped batsmen by PP such as Talat, Farhan, and Asif have failed badly. Forget international cricket, some of these batsmen aren't even PSL standard.

Umar and Shehzad have far greater ability than almost all of our batsmen. I know they have their issues such as discipline, strike rotation, and mental block, when it comes to international cricket. But these issues can be solved. However, The lack of ability and talent, in other words almost all of Pakistani batsmen, are not something that can be easily fixed.

Pakistan's batting talent is very mediocre, and this something that we see every year in the PSL. As a result, we are not in a position to discard the likes of Umar and Shehzad for good. They are not world beaters, but they are fine by our standards and have quite a lot of experience in spite of being fairly young. If they are in good form, they should get an opportunity.

With Hafeez and Malik set to retire, there are opportunities for them to cement their place in the team. I am happy to see Umar getting picked for the Australian series, but I wish Shahzad should have been there as well.

Wow, pure madness! One of the greatest PSL matches of all times and possibly the greatest anyway, given the stage. It´s the PSL, a cricket match in Pakistan (a rarity in itself), it´s Karachi Kings playing in Karachi, them needing a win to confirm their place in the play-offs, and they do so by winning by one run, defending five off the last over. Surely, God could never have written a better script than this! I mean, how else do you explain the brain explosion on the part of Quetta? Fair enough, Shinwari deserves credit but just tell me how many balls of his last over were unplayable or very well executed? Maybe just one, that being the last ball I´d say. All the three wickets that fell in that over were more or less down to careless batting and poor shot-making. So yeah, this was just written in fate. Such unbelievable things happen sometimes without explanations.

Congratulations man for witnessing such a drama from so close. Congratulations to every Karachi Kings fan. must´ve been an electric atmosphere. The roof must´ve gone down after the last ball! Very happy for the home fans over there.
