A 24-year-old Kashmiri student was assaulted by a group of youth in southeast Bengaluru on March 20, a media report said today.
Absar Zahoor Dhar, a resident of Srinagar, suffered grievous injuries to his hand, head and face in the assault, reported Deccan Herald.

Dhar, a student of civil engineering, was attacked in AECS Layout near Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Bengaluru.

The Bengaluru police has said that all the four accused have been arrested who were identified as Nithin (25), Manjesh (21), Gautham (26), and Abhi alias Santhosh (20), all residents of Kundalahalli Colony, Bengaluru.

“Trouble began for Dhar, a civil engineering student at the CMRIT College, on the evening of March 19 when he had gone to the gym. As he was having coffee at Madouk Cafe, a group of four to five people, one of whom identified himself as Nithin, approached Dhar and accused him of eve-teasing. Dhar politely refuted the allegation, following which Nithin and his associates warned him and left the cafe, the report quoted Dhar as having said.

The accused armed with iron roads caught hold of Dhar the next day at an an ice-cream parlour in AECS Layout, dragged him out of the shop and began assaulting him without any provocation, said the report.
This time, the accused said he was riding his bike rashly. “My friends rushed to my help or else they could have killed me,” Dhar told DH.

Dhar, who sustained injuries to his hand, head and face, was rushed to a nearby hospital by his friends.

Dhar, according to the report, said that he was not attending his classes, as all the four accused have obtained bail.

Its horrible situation where Kashmiris continue to suffer in different parts of India.

Indians wonder why kashmiris don't like them. You guys abuse innocent kashmiris regularly. What do you think this does to the people of the valley the hate will only grow stronger.

Feel for such Kashmirs. They simply should refrain from travelling anywhere else in India. After all, they don't even consider themselves Indians, they hate India .... so why travel to a city/state in India for any of their purpose? Most of them love and support Pakistan. So why not travel to Pakistan instead for education?

The Kashmiris students studying in one Uni should get together and form some sort of united front. These Hindu extremists cant fight and a good beating will make them think twice.

You dont feel for them , otherwise you wouldn't be asking such a stupid question. Well done for understanding they hate India, so give them their own country which will improve very quickly so they wont have to travel to a Hindu extremist backward 3rd world nation.

So why exactly they don't travel to the 1st World glamorous Pakistan instead, which is so close to them? Why do they prefer India instead? I mean, Pakistan bleeds along with the Kashmiris, they all live and breathe together. So why travel to other states of India? Why not travel to the 'superior' Universities of Pakistan instead?

If they want to and Pakistan can help them in their education they should. At least they will be safe from extremist thugs.

A friend of mine knows about this guy. He is a model, just like his elder brother.

But i heard this particular incident is related to a girl. My personal sources are telling me that this case isnt an attack on Kashmiris per say but more of a personal conflict. Nothing confirmed yet though.

Put on your orange jumpsuit and ask them. How am I supposed to answer this.

So the big brother who cares so much about their Kashmiri brothers, and the Kashmiri people who love Pakistan soooooooooo much ..... Neither one of them have an answer to this question?

You question is stupid. Asking people the thoughts of others.

Let me ask you why do Hindus attack Kashmiri students?

Are you stupid Or what it's almost impossible for kashmiris to get Visa for travelling to pak leave aside studying there.

They have to get a Pakistan visa for that which is not easily obtained, it'd be much easier to go after independence or merger with Pakistan :D

Never used to hear such news 10 years back. What has changed? as far as i know, nothing has changed among indians or the government.

Media twists everything, a conflict amongst students it's very common and back in my college days we had plenty of fights but never was any fight labelled based on religion or region. Nor was our motive ever to fight based on religion or region.

When you are in college fights are common and none of the fights ever get reported by any news agencies. However in current environment media is portraying such fights as communal.

Maybe not all fights are of communal nature, but there are many which are communal, so can't blame people for always assuming the most common reason for fights which happen in india.

In colleges fights are mostly about girls directly or indirectly.

This is a case of college fight so you can't assume it's communal because majority fights are over girls.. But if I think about it there is a good chance that the guys who beat up this guy only beat him up because he was an "outsider".. If he was a local and had enough clout he might not get beaten up but since he was an "outsider" that too from Kashmir (with current setniment), the guys who beat him up might have had that at back of their minds. But this is just an assumption.

But the point still stands the start of fight was not because of him being from a specific state it was because of some girl which is the reason in almost every college fight.

PS: outsider means non locals from the area this fight took place in.

No, you simply don't have a proper answer.

It's a simple case of college fight over some girl, why are you indulging in useless arguments with known hatemongers and trolls who have nothing else to do?

These kind of fights happen almost every week in some college. Generally in my experience the person who gets beaten up takes revenge like a man rather than getting reported in media. But maybe times has changed.

Nice attempt at whitewashing. I have known indian students from their elite colleges and they hold communal beliefs. Just take example of the standup comedian rivaldo, whose communal believes are normal among the college students over there. It is only the JNU and Jadavpur which have survived so far from the poison, no wonder they get a bad name among the nationalists.

I already mentioned the same thing. Some of my sources said this fight did not have any other angle than a usual college fight.

Fully agreed with KKWC.

Pathetic comments from you Hitman. It is India which keeps on saying Kashmir is an integral part of India but refuses to acknowledge kashmiri muslims as their own.

By these acts, India has ensured kashmiri youth remains isolated and has no attachment whatsoever with us.

No wonder they chose to celebrate for Pkaistan. At least the Pakistanis call them brothers.

The only way Kashmiris and indians can have warm relations is when indians support their right to self determination. With the empowerment of hindu extremists, there is a fat chance of that happening.

I got very surprised when I read Bangalore in the heading and had a hunch that it might be related to something else and not bcoz the guy belongs to Kashmir. And then I read the OP and I was right, the guy was beaten up for alleged eve teasing. Why are people politicizing it as if he is beaten bcoz he is from Kashmir?

The reason I got so surprised reading Bangalore's name bcoz South India is the last place where people wear nationality on their sleeves. Someone who been to Bangalore many times, they simply dont care if you are from Kashmir or Pakistan or China. As long as you respect their culture and don't impose Hindi/Urdu on them....they dont care. I can bet you wont be assaulted based on those unless its your own fault.

There are more chances you would get beaten up being a Bihari or North Indian in Bangalore than being from Kashmir.

Because India has occupied their land and does not let them do what they eant

The question is why they don't?

Because they’re not allowed to. You think India will allow them to travel to Pakistan and back? Why should they leave their illegally occupied land ?

Are you being purposely this dumb or have you always been like this?

Eve teasing? Where did you get that from? I have heard of this guy from a close friend of mine. A very humble and cheerful guy.

India should deport the perpetrators to UP, that state already has a terrible reputation for abusing minorities, this way at least the good name of Bangalore will not be sullied.

I think Canford bhai is just being diplomatic. When he says Eve teasing, most likely he really means love jihad. That fellow is quite handsome and has a devil may care look which Indian girls might find criminally attractive.

you never know. i had a kashmiri batchmate during my undergrad and he was so nice and helpful that am sure it was fake and he was different deep inside. can't believe someone can be so nice.

Nothing really except it's a lot worse now for non-cow-pee consumers as Adolf Modi emerged from his Pond and got into power.

Are you guys even reading the OP or just reading the title "Kashmir" and starting rona dhona? Its clearly written that 4 guys attacked him outside coffee shop accusing of Eve teasing. The way I look at it is typical teenage college fight for crush/girls etc. It has nothing to do with him being from Kashmir

I think Kashmiris should remain in the valley if they want their freedom fight to be taken seriously. Working of studying in other parts of India is very hypocritical.

It seems it wasn't a communal issue but a college fight over girls, other Kashmiris were with him but they weren't touched. Media should be more responsible in covering such stories because they can lead to frenzy and public resentment.

These guys were all Hindus and they approached the Kashmiri fellow about "Eve-teasing". As we all know, Hindus don't even believe in Adam and Eve story, why would they use Abrahamic terms for women in that case? Furthermore, if you read the story, you will see the handsome victim politely denied any wrongdoing, and the group then warned him and left.

The following day they returned armed with iron rods and bats and set about him with makeshift weapons outside an ice cream parlour. This time the reason given was that he was riding his bike rashly.

They must have had a premonition that he was going to be riding his bike erratically and came prepared with implements to set about him. :91:
