Just a quick check through the squads but where are Minhas/Saad Masood/Mohammad Faiq/Abbas Afridi? I could sift through and find more notable names missing but this is to highlight PCB poor development. Even if some of them are going to BPL, that tournament starts December 26 and this tournament will be wrapped up by December 25th.

Ghani as a captain for a department run by his daddy is a pure nepo pick. Shameful stuff for real.

What a sham of a tournament. Garbage squads with undeserving captains and underprepared pitches.
A team scored 140 runs and they defended this with the other team getting all out for 40. In just 8 matches, there have already been 5 instances where teams are being bowled out for below 200. What is the point of preparing such pitches that you will never encounter at the international level? Who does this help?

This is supposed to be your main List A tournament and it's completely shambolic.

They look absolutely abysmal. Clearly zero maintenance work done on it for years and yet, they are forcing players to play on these horrendous unmaintained grounds with under prepared pitches. It's not day/night matches which is generally how most, if not all ODI's are played nowadays and played on flatter pitches, not some slow, spinning type pitches like Sharjah. The goal should be to emulate what the players will face at the international level and prepare them for it. They should prepare good, batting friendly pitches where we can see totals like 300-375 on the regular and batting/bowling groups knowing how to chase or defend it on a regular basis.

This is why a huge gap remains between domestic and international level.

This is why this whole department setup needs to be completely banned. Look at these blatant and awful nepotism picks.

He is not playing premier domestic tournament, he practically owns a team and can do whatever with it as long as he provides salaries on time.
I saw him yesterday and was appalled and shocked. If he took a couple of overs, then that is just about bearable. But he took 8 overs and deprived Professional players of precious opportunities

This is supposed to be a premier domestic tournament. It's like the only List A tournament they even have this season and its wasted on nonsense like this.

Good to see Maaz, Shahzaib and Shamyl continuing their prolific form. Azan, Shamyl, Shahzaib and Saad Baig should be a permanent part of Shaheens for the coming year. Ideally, Maaz should be given a chance in the upcoming T20 series with a view to the T20 WC but seems unlikely.

Bowling remains worrisome. Apart from Muqeem, and Arshad's return nothing much to speak of.

Shahzaib is scoring plenty of runs but shocking to see how low his SR rate is. FC SR is low too. Personally, I am not willing to buy stock in him until he shows significant uptick in his SR.

Shamyl continues to standout in domestic. Scoring plenty of runs and doing it at an incredible SR. Same goes for Maaz.

Very disappointing and shocking players like Arafat Minhas, Saad Masood etc aren't selected and playing in this tournament when they're better than a lot of the players.

Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) secured their place in the final of the President’s Cup One-Day Tournament after clinching a hard-fought 13-run victory over SNGPL in the semi-final at the National Bank Stadium. The highlight of the encounter was a brilliant bowling display by Arshad Iqbal, whose five-wicket haul dismantled the opposition's chase and turned the tide in KRL’s favor.

After being invited to bat first by SNGPL, KRL posted a competitive total of 255 runs in 49.4 overs. The innings was anchored by a superb performance from Waqar Ahmed, who fell just short of a century with a commanding 94 runs, including eight boundaries and a six. He found excellent support in Saad Baig, who struck a fluent 77 runs decorated with 12 boundaries. Despite their dominance, SNGPL’s Mohammad Salman kept his side in the hunt by tearing through the rest of the lineup, finishing with impressive figures of 6 for 42.

SNGPL’s pursuit of 256 began with promise as Omair Bin Yousuf (57) and Shan Masood (37) built a solid 76-run foundation for the second wicket. The momentum continued through the middle overs as Saad Khan and Kamran Ghulam shared a 90-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Saad Khan played a particularly aggressive role, scoring 66 runs with the help of seven boundaries. However, the dismissal of both set batsmen sparked a collapse that saw SNGPL lose their grip on the match.

The final stages of the game belonged to Arshad Iqbal, who produced a match-winning spell of fast bowling. He finished with figures of 5 for 43, systematically breaking SNGPL’s resistance and bowling them out for 242 in 48.2 overs. Hamza Nazar assisted with two wickets to ensure the victory. For his decisive contribution with the ball, Arshad Iqbal was deservedly named Player of the Match. KRL will now face PTV in the grand final on December 25.

KRL is a well reputed national organisation same as ptv or ogdcl and they have a long departmental cricket history

How do you expect people who don’t follow Pakistan’s domestic cricket as closely as others to know that?

I was more interested in our domestic games when the team names were based on regions. It had a lot more meaning to it. It gave the fans something to cheer about.

No one’s rooting for KRL, mostly because they don’t even know what city that team is based in.
