[PICTURES/VIDEOS] National T20 Cup 2024-25 - Discussion thread

Interesting how current players or players who have recently played for Pakistan, are not really dominating this tournament.

Even looks like PSL has missed out on some talents and the selected players are also there or there-abouts.

Just goes to show we have a huge issue when it comes to talent right now.

We need at 7-8 teams to ensure no talent is missing out in PSL. With current setup, it is difficult for franchises to pick talented uncapped players over international stars to attract sponsors and keeping their P&L positive.

It means either there is no merit in selecting players for the domestic teams and the talented youngsters are left out for unknown reason or we have no real talent left and new unknown players are on par with the domestic and PSL performers that is both are ordinary in talent.

One thing is for sure there is no extraordinary talent on display which makes you say that this player belongs to International level.

Abdullah Fazal seems to have a decent season of FC and have scored in 2 innings so far , didn’t look that much impressive to be honest but perhaps I have to keep an eye on him and see his more innings to find out if he belongs to international cricket or not.

Just watched his ton innings against Peshawar , he can play pace with bounce , played good shots against Ihsanullah bouncers and ofcourse he is very good against any type of spin bowling , still his feet stuck up when playing pace bowlers , will get trouble with swing and seam I think.

What do people think of Saad Khan? I watched highlights of his sixes. He looked decent.
I believe Saad Khan is underestimated a lot given he plays from a smaller team, he seems to have the game to be a very good Test batsman.

Any updates regarding performance of wicketkeeper, anyone threatening enough to knock Rizwan of the perch.

He always looks very organised but his record is not that impressive for some reason

Looks like this Shehzad guy is a good cricketer.

Always a part of the action. The good players usually are.

there are some old uncles playing there but good to see a few good batters and bowlers

The left arm chinamen Momin
Awais Zafar who also can bowl, well built hit sixers for fun
Mohamed Faiq another built guy who also hit many sixers

But unfortunately when thrown into intl , they look like cant hold the bat... so clearly Pak bowling in domestics is super atrocious

Is actually quicker than I thought earlier, seems to be bowling around 128-133k instead 120-125k which I thought earlier.

Arafat Minhas seems very close to international level, just need a good PSL and he should he included in T20is.

He certainly has the quality.

I would have had him ahead of Shadab in the current squad. Shadab can't even bowl properly these days nor does he look interested in doing it.

Regardless Arafat should get a serious look considering both the Asia Cup and WC will be in Asian conditions.

Much improved tournament from last year

That too with so many of the Pakistan players and PSL superstars not on show.

The boys want to play hard this year!

He was included but for some unknown reason dropped after playing few games. He is a good player and seems sensible too

Mirza T Baig was very impressive with his clean hitting. Hope he can do that against better bowlers

I've not been watching this tournament but I have been keeping up with the scorecards.

Have there been any bowlers that have surprised or pushed for T20 selection?

I am not seeing any real talented bowler be it spinner or pacer in this tournament who can trouble good batters on flat tracks.

Not seeing any pacer who can seam the ball on flat tracks or got extra bounce or vicious cutter to trouble the batter nor any spinners with huge revs to trouble good batters on flat track.

Only good bowler imo in this tournament is Ubaid Shah who has that extra pace off the wicket and can swing the ball late ,and Arish Ali got huge revs otherwise no any special or outstanding talent when it comes to bowling, but yeah lots of decent bowling talent who can do well in right conditions.

However there is plenty of modern day batters unveiled in this tournament who can bat at a very high strike rate on flat tracks.

I watched ubaid shah today and he was rushing the batsmen but is still erring in his lines. Isn't quite ready yet but could become a top bowler

Yea and there is no special or international talent on display from either batting or bowling category, just some decent mid tier team level talent who is very much pitch dependent, no such players who can take pitch out of the equation and perform any where against anyone.

Agree, no pacers that have put their hands up. With the fast declining stock of Shaheen and Naseem, would have hoped to see some pacers emerge to act as potential replacements.

As for spinners, it is harder to judge. The Faislabad pitch has been very spin friendly and there are several who seem to have done a decent job. But it is hard to see this type of pitch in international ODIs or T20s.

Excellent Multan

Knocked out a massive team in Karachi

This tournament only gets better and better!
