yehi shot pe 4 lagta to tum logon ne kehna tha ke aggression hai larkay mein he is taking steyn heads on

he has the same shots, the same selection from the previous match.

back him my friend rather than pin pointing. He is the one batsmen who has played without fear :)

technical issues will be ironed out, what you need is heart and courage :) and that is something this guy possesses :)
 
i did say after last game don't get too excited...one hundred partnership doesn't mean a thing...they were still very unconvincing alot of the time - and the 2nd innings was a reality check....still not convinced

Dude chill... Nobody will say drop him as he has cemented his place for some time and deserves a run but that shot was atrocious. Hopefully he will improve and do better in the second innings... alot of people need to do better in the second innings. :P
 
I guess blowing kisses is costing him :P

Shaan and Khurram both seemed to have failed badly.
And the issue is there's no better opener than them in Pakistan.

Farhat has the highest average and is a beast. Better than them in FC.

This all shows Pakistan is LACKING IN BATTING TALENT.
 
There is a good point in being positive and trying to get after the bowling but KM has played 3 pretty poor shots in his last 3 dismissals, like most of our openers when ball is fuller and swinging he doesnt have a clue where his off-stick is!
 
Pair him with Jamshed who was stupidly dropped after having his debut in the hardest conditions in the world

Khurram gets another tour IMO

We are short on options as it is. Shezhad I have serious doubts on. I hope Babar Azam can be ready in a year so.
 
Khurram has failed after that century but still i think we should stick to him for some time....


Shan on the other hand has been plain pathetic, Apart from that 75 (In which at least 50% runs were scored in edges) he has to be replaced

Or are you trying to imply entire Pak batting lineup has terrible technique, so that they couldn't score?

This makes his technique a better technique than other Pak batsmen, no?
 
looks like stage is set for :hafeez and :farhat
poor from Khurram , he has got carried away after that 146 , that is not end of the world
 
why wil a batsman who is yet to establish himself in the team blow kisses to an atg bowler..
 
He is clearly better than majority of the over-hyped young batting talents we have dished out recently. Needs to seriously stop flashing outside the off stump though.
 
looks like hafeez when he bats, the guy scores 146, 4, 0 & 0, do not need him in the team, even some guys on this forum wanted him in the odi team, we have to stop this hyping up of players, go back to the old days and pick youngsters, they can improve but these 25 + year olds can never improve has they would of played cricket of about 10-13years with poor technique
 
He had a hundred in his last game, why the talk of dropping him?

Fair enough, he needs to stop flashing outside the off stump but surely deserves the SL series in January.
 
not knowing off stump is a big problem for a opener, just reminds me of hafeez,
 
has had 2 good games and 2 poor since his return. Khurram somestic record shows he gets a kot of single digit scores but makes up for it by scoring big whhe gets in.

Looks nothing like Hafeez. Hafeez looks quite elegant in his shots which is mixed by edges and dodgy technique at times in tests.

Khurram's 140 or so was a very good innings, where Khurram looked comfortable. Showed much better temperament. Certainly better than the edgy one by Masood, hence probably why Khurram went on to score twice of what Masood did.

Khurram does have technical flaws but in general the man had a good series, he got a century. And averaged 50 as a result.

I stand corrected at the bold part... Why are people asking him to be dropped? Before these three abysmal scores he has a a 146 and two fifties consecutively. He has done good and he has shown potential. should be be given a good run and should be stuck with. He has a few kinks ( major ones) but hopefully he will work them out as he plays more. We cant just keep on jumping from one guy to the next.
 
Both Masood and Manzoor showed signs of great potential, but they were inconsistent.

The SL series will be an important one for both of them.

I am not against the prospect of giving two youngsters chance. But, thing is they are batting at important positions and therefore I feel at least one should be given a chance, whilst the other opening batsman should be a more experience one (ie Taufeeq, why was he dropped btw?)

It's like back in 2010, Azhar and Amin were given debuts, but no experience around them when at the crease.

Anyways, I agree.. Both were poor, despite the opening stand. Should be given another chance. Wish we could just bring Saeed Anwar back. :))

I missed his effort in the first innings but his second innings effort was horrible to say the least.

Anything that seemed to move away from him he was struggling with. Footwork was all over the place also.

Agreed. He planted his front foot before the delivery as a trigger movement and thereafter the only two things that were moving were his back leg and his bat all over the place. Horribly exposed against the new ball.
 
tbh i dont like manzoor, masood and sherjeel. All these three needs to be axed and we should give debuts to Haris, Sami aslam.

Next match, Shehzad, Hafeez open with Azhar coming next.
 
Now that he is in the team, he should play at least the whole series and then a decision should be made. Too much chopping and changing is no good to the team.
 
He got a good delivery in the second inning. Should be given the whole series I think.

Like most of our openers looks very poor against the moving ball and needs to improve majorly to be a possible longterm option in the side.
 
Should play the next match he got an unplayable delivery
 
Averages 29 after 22 test innings SR of 43. Embarrassing to have him in the side to be fair.

Pakistan need to make a decision here. Is he really someone we can invest in for the long term if he has a technique like this? There was only a hint of movement around and Khurram was getting squared up, hopping around - not a pretty sight. I don't see him succeeding in overseas conditions with that technique so that's why Shan Masood should replace him next game. He's a lot more compact and recently pulled off a century on a wicket where the opposition were bowled out for 65.
 
Was jumping around all over the place, possibly the worst innings i have ever seen from a pakistani opener. Give him the series, but needs to be told to work on his technique against swing asap.

What did he made Dale Steyn look when he scored 140? Paul Collingwood? OTT reaction by PPers as usual. He did played Lakmal well in the 1st innings. It's a mental thing. I think he was confused with his approach. Just need to get it right and he will be OK.

You blindly defend Karachi batsman but when its a batsman from Lahore e.g. Shehzad you are the opposite.

I think you should support the Pakistan team instead of individuals.
 
Regionalism etc is irrevelant so please take that into timepass/politics.

I have said that despite a hundred v SA that this guy is rubbish. I saw him in Nz a few years ago. He was pathetic. No talent. All over the place. Rubbish. We need to discard this kind of player always.

Agreed.

These people always support cities not the country.

Thats why I respect you, you support deserving players like Ahmed Shehzad, Umer Akmal, Riaz,Babar Azam, Sami Aslam, Jamshed, Adnan and Kamran Akmal regradles of the city they are from.

Although Manzoor has an atrocious technique, it is refreshing to see that he plays positively and not go in a shell. That seems to be the only reason why he is out scoring other Pakistani openers.

A good innings would have been better if he had converted into 3 figures :(
 
He is not great, but miles better than Ahmed Shehzad the hack.

We need to replace both of them with quality and dependable openers.

Sadly, there's dearth of them. In ODIs though, we can include Sami Aslam.

And people wanted him dropped for the nightwatchman. Some people here either have no clue or are all about their regions.

But yes he is a terrible batsman and its so weird that he has a ton against best attack in the world. A test ton that is.

But would never have him back even if he scores 10000 runs this season.
