Khyber Pakhtunkhwa coach Abdur Rehman: “I have worked at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for 10 years and I am very excited to be returning to the players with whom I had been working after spending two years at Southern Punjab. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has maintained high standard of cricket throughout the last season as they won every First XI tournament. For national T20 I think this would be a decent lineup:

In this lineup, Iftikhar and Ghulam to share 4 overs between them. Otherwise instead of Musadiq who did really well last season as hitter, Mohammad Mohsin/Mohammad Irfan Khan can be inducted to get that leg spin all rounder in an effort to get some variety and 5th bowler.

Incase of Iftikhar, Wasim Jr and Haris being unavailable due to international commitments with the NZ tour coming up, KPK has some options with youngsters like Nabi Gul/Aamir Azmat, Abbas Afridi/ Sameen Gul/ Irfanullah and a keeper in Rehan Afridi or Khayyam Khan (Inducted from city cricket who scored at SR of 92).

Most new inductions from city cricket will possibly have to play and perform in 2nd XI to get a chance unless the combination specifically requires a certain kind of player or the head coach is considers one of them a real find already ready for a step up.

Seems Fakhar Zaman not available for next 2 games due to injury

Pakistan cricket team's fierce opener Fakhar Zaman suffered a thumb injury during the Match 12 of the ongoing National T20 Cup.

Chasing 151 against in-form Sindh, Fakhar opened the innings for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and made a blistering start to the innings. He played a match-winning knock of 49 runs from 32 deliveries, which included 4 fours and 4 sixes.

While receiving the Man of the Match for his splendid innings, Fakhar came to recieve an award with a bandage on his left thumb.

It was later revealed that Fakhar was hit on hand after he faced a bouncer from Mohammad Hasnain. Following the completion of the match, the physios advised him to take a rest otherwise the injury might not heal in time.

Fakhar has been advised a 5-day rest and will be out for the next two games for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This is a huge blow for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but Fakhar's fitness is extremely important especially with the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup right around the corner.
