My Two Cents on this tournament:
Pitch and Heat:
Was this tournament suppose to help us play against England?? - Are we playing England in UAE or England...
Conditions are anything but England like
Openers are having time of their life on these conditions. Don't tell me Pakistan has no problem in facing new ball, this is still the biggest issue... No matter how many 100s they make, that does not tell me anything about their skill against new ball... If all they do is score on these kind of wickets in domestic, well no wonder we are so crapy at international level...
Playing all matching on a single ground was huge oversite... Why they did not play in Pindi, where weather is much better?? - Baking players in Sun is not going to make them fitter, England is a whole different country...
Every match is win toss, bat first, win match... This is very predictable, teams are balanced but conditions are doctored
Also, new ball bowlers are looking worse than they are in first innings, its difficult to bowl well in 40 degree heat and that to on a phatta... In second innings wickets get slow and slightly uneven, grips too, that helps second team to bowl much better than first... This is again poor pitch development, why we cannot have same conditions for 100 overs??
Amir's issue in LOI when conditions are flat are continue, imagine Strac bowling on same pitch... He would still do much better than Amir, because he bowls yorkers and fuller length that does not require pitch... Amir was bowling defensive length(back of length most of the time), not a single delivery pitch up or yorked... He got to develop those skills, otherwise he will not get much wickets in LOIs.... I am disappointed at his lack of variety and creativity to stay the least....
No Power Hitters or Finisher
Even though these are batting tracks, we don't see any power hitter, a guy who can hit boundaries at well, specially 6s... Sharjeel is the only guy who can hit six, rest don't have muscle or timing.... This is pretty poor show... No wonder we are worse team in the world
