Dallas police said the 37-year-old accused Cobos-Martinez placed the victim’s severed head in a dumpster before being arrested.

Chandra Nagamallaiah, Indian national managing a Dallas motel, was brutally attacked and beheaded by Yordanis Cobos-Martinez with a machete in front of his wife and son.

Investigators said the 37-year-old accused placed the victim’s severed head in a dumpster before being arrested. Dallas Police officers, who found him wearing a blood-stained T-shirt, apprehended him shortly after he fled the Downtown Suites motel where the killing occurred, the NBC 5 reported.

Taking cognizance of the matter, Indian government on Friday expressed deep sorrow and concern over the brutal beheading of Nagamallaiah. The Consulate General of India in Houston said, "We are in touch with the family and offering all possible assistance.”

Witnesses described the crime as “sick and disturbing,” while police said the accused, Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, cut the victim “several times” before decapitating him.

Argument over broken washing machine turned deadly

According to CBS News, An argument broke out between Nagamallaiah and Yordanis Cobos-Martinez over a broken washing machine. A co-worker told police that Nagamallaiah had asked Cobos-Martinez not to use it and later instructed someone else to translate his orders.

The argument reportedly enraged Cobos-Martinez, who left the scene, returned with a machete, and launched a brutal attack.

Grisly beheading

Police and witnesses said Cobos-Martinez chased Nagamallaiah outside the motel and struck him multiple times before decapitating him. According to NBC, the suspect kicked the victim’s severed head into the parking lot and later dumped it in a dumpster.

Dallas Police Executive Assistant Chief Terrence Rhodes said: “The preliminary investigation terms that the suspect cut the victim with an edged weapon several times.”

Witnesses described the crime as “sick and disturbing.”

Attack in front of wife and son

The 50-year-old victim, known as “Bob” to family and friends, was attacked in front of his wife and son, witnesses told CBS, adding that his family members tried to protect him, but the suspect continued striking with the machete.

Friends of the victim said: “This unimaginable tragedy was not only sudden but deeply traumatic. Bob’s life was taken in a brutal attack that occurred in front of his wife and son, who bravely tried to protect him. The shocking nature of this event has shaken our community.”

Suspect has history of crime

Records show that Cobos-Martinez had previously been arrested for auto theft in Florida, and for indecency with a child and assault charges in Houston.

NBC 5 reported that US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said Cobos-Martinez should have “never been free” in the United States. The agency blamed the Biden administration for the lack of deportation flights to Cuba.

He had earlier been released on an order of supervision after being held at the Bluebonnet Detention Center.

Terrible and senseless and my thoughts and prayers are with the affected family

When you allow mass illegal immigration without any background checks.

You will hear crickets from the likes of AOC, Kamala on this incident. But they will be out in full force when an innocent gets accidentally arrested by ICE on suspicion.

Its too late anyways to deport illegals with criminal records. Even if they get deported, they will be back again. Illegals showing up at the border is just a symptom. The human trafficking mafia in cahoots with politicians are the real problem.

I reported this incident here in the morning but the post was removed @BouncerGuy

Horrific incident. One thing being crazy with an automatic gun. But to go after someone holding a machete and beheading him with it right in front of his wife and son is sick to the core.

I watched the video and I feel traumatized today. I can’t even imagine what the two family members who witnessed it must be going through.

I guess it’s best to avoid altercations with crazies over small matters. Losing your head for a freaking washing machine.

Too many crazies in America to be honest. It’s a very unsafe country. Sadly this is the kind of stuff which justifies having guns in every pocket and every household in America. You have all these characterless weirdos in that country.

Instead of immediately carrying out his sentence and getting rid of this scum, he will rot on tax money for decades probably.

He Already had a charge of grand theft and indecency with a child, now was back to roaming free. Wth kind of laws do they have 🤦🏼‍♂️

Some of these latinos are like animals. Remember Mexican cartels also do these things.

There is a latino politician (Valeltina Gomez; originally from Colombia) in USA who burned Quran and is openly Islamophobic. Some of these latinos are massive troublemakers and dangerous.

A few months ago, another latino guy killed an entire Indian family.

This is sickening and horrific. I feel so bad for the wife and son.

I am not really a big fan of Latinos. Many of them are dangerous lunatics. It's best not to argue with them.

Happened in my city, even the police officer was shocked , the witness as well.

He had been in the custody of ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations at the Bluebonnet Detention Center in Anson, but was released on Jan. 13 under the Biden administration, an ICE spokesperson told The Post.

“This barbaric criminal was released because Cuba would not accept him because of his criminal history,” they said.

This is 100 percent death penalty in TEXAS, but that won't bring the decreased back. Death penalties should have an equality - let the victims family member hunt the crazy down with the hands tied down in the same manner. I am sure this offender has cartel background.

Make the man work like a donkey in prison, whatever he earns, give it to the family of the victim and may be 10 yrs later, hang him.

Just to remind everyone, they shot this sikh guy few days ago, but they won't kill this Cuban trash. :inti

The irony is two different cities, Dallas for its all issues and conservatives the police is very respectable across the DFW area .

LA for its liberalism , the police is extremely trigger happy.

Generally speaking it has become the norm to feel desensitised towards Indians when they are the victims. This is because the majority of them on this forum are pro-genocide when it comes to Palestine, however it's important that we do not stoop to their level and let justice prevail regardless of what the backgrounds are of the victim and perpetrator.

He was wielding a weapon and did not care about the warnings from the cops.

He could be mentally deranged. No Sikh does this in the west. It is unfortunate, but it was bound to happen.

I can't even bear to think how the wife and kid must have felt.

I hope they get support that somehow makes their lives normal.

US seems to be full of crazies. Any small thing can trigger someone to go on a killing spree.

The thing here is, no one is seeking pity from Pakistani posters either. It was a brutal crime and the culprit will get the hard fist of the justice system.
Dallas has enough Indians to support the family and raise funds for the victim’s family.

You could have just done the sensible thing and stayed out of this thread instead of boasting about your large heart.

did you forgot to include something very "important" in that post ? :inti

What the hell is going on in Dallas....Cops were nowhere to be seen this time...why?? because it was a white man??

This should be top news on most US national news outlets/channels but I'm guessing they've ignored it.

Not only ignored it, I guess the Indian guy for sake of ease kept his name as Bob, so the local Dallas news gave once his full name but then referred to him as “Bob”.
Many Indians have called him out for only repeating the name of the killer but not the victim but its useless.

Oh that was disturbing to watch:cry:. How will wife and son cope with this, I really dont' know. They should get all the help and more so. There are so many sick people out there.

Has anyone here ever experienced a moment of murderous rage?

Such incidents demand deeper study into human psychology. When a person crosses the line from anger to extreme violence, it doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Early exposure to violence, normalization of brutality in culture or media, uncontrolled temper, lack of emotional regulation, and even broader societal breakdowns can all act as triggers.

This is a grim reminder of how rage can spiral into the unthinkable. What makes a person decide to take a life, especially over something so small?

I would want to see a thorough interrogation of the killer. Does he truly regret what he has done? What kind of upbringing and life shaped him? What stressors, traumas, or failures accumulated until this tipping point? Understanding these layers is essential not to excuse the crime, but to map how an ordinary human being can descend into such horror and how we as a society must improve on it to ensure this madness doesn’t affect many people.

Because unless we confront the roots, these eruptions of extreme violence will only repeat.

Its the most heinous and despicable murder you will ever hear about. I feel so sorry for the victims wife and child, their mental state will be damaged forever.

As for your post understanding a motive is a waste of time, such evil people have no justification or should be given any understanding.

It reminds me of a hadith

"
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
By Him in Whose Hand is my life, a time would come when the murderer would not know why he has committed the murder, and the victim would not know why he has been killed."

Sadly we live in such dark times now.

I’m more interesting in avoiding further incidents like these, gun violence’s, terrorism etc.

Obviously this man should be given the harshest punishment.

Its not going to happen, these type of wild crazied lunatic murders will only increase.

The only thing you can do is to ensure you and your family are safe but you're in India so are ok. For those in the west , its important but one can only do so much.

Finally a reaction from Trump on this. I still cannot believe how the mainstream media tried to brush it aside as just another news. This is the most gruesome incident in a long time.

Even here it seems like Trump is making it more about his own policies rather than showing any genuine remorse about the brutal murder.

What did the Indian guy say or do to the perpetrator prior to the murder?
Not to use the washing Machine but from what it seemed he was using a translator(another employee) in between:

Man accused of beheading Dallas motel manager who told him not to use a broken washing machine

He was 50 and unfortunately in shock already when the guy slashed him first time, but i wonder if he assumed someone might interfere and save him because only his family tried , I do wonder how i would had reacted but I'm neither 50 nor slashed, hopefully fought back , very hard to tell.

America has many mentally challenged abnormal people. Worse than any other western country in my opinion.

I am glad I don't live in USA. Land of crazies.

This guy was a Cuban national who Cuba refused to take and then got released, the entire thing is very weird. America does have mental issues but can't be blamed on this issue.

He should be executed in my opinion.

He killed an innocent man. So, execution is justified.

America (and other western countries) makes simple things complex. Violent criminals should either be deported or executed. It can reduce taxpayer expenses and other issues.

In Texas most probably he will be executed, Texas is very strict on such stuff. This guy will be a nuisance even in jail.

The perp was wielding a machete. Would make it pretty hard to intervene without putting yourself in extreme danger unless you were carrying a firearm and just shot him. Twice just to make sure.

Yeah the only time people in Texas didn't have a firearm unfortunately.
Also I didn't expect people to interfere the murderer looked like he knew what he was doing but I wonder how i would had reacted as a 50 yr old just slashed out of nowhere and running for my life, I saw these things in old movies and i always wondered why wouldn't the guy fight back and instead keep running but i think it just isn't possible.

If the guy had a weapon and I didn't, I would probably run. LOL.

But, if my loved one was in danger, I probably would intervene.

Anyway, this is why I don't like the idea of living among Latinos. I am glad we don't have many Latinos in Canada. Keep the amigos to Mexico and USA.

Yeah, exactly what if it was my partner or my parents, also what if I knew the killer won’t stop until he kills me, I would hopefully be able to fight back.

Also all Latinos are not same bro, I have many Latino friends esp from Mexico but i do I try to keep a distance from Cuban and Colombian ones, I had bad experiences in Miami and they are majority there, ofcourse not all are like that.

Always carry some pepper spray, wherever you go. Very effective.

You should buy some @JaDed.

Did you see the video of the subway incident where the Ukranian refugee girl was stabbed from behind by this gigantic black man in a hoodie ? Another shocking incident.
