All eyes on Fakhar today, he has absolutely nothing to lose. Let’s hope he does well and sends Ramiz a message.

Unless i am confused i thought the Central Punjab game was Game 2 ...maybe i am wrong

23 Sep - Balochistan-Northern; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-Central Punjab

Good game coming up.

Let’s see what line up is played CP have the best and experienced players in one team.

Should beat the rest by a mile on paper.

Not all yk.
Wahab, Iftikhar, Hafeez, Faheem and Malik could all be potentially playing.

After the PM meeting with the players for the WT20, I don’t think they’ll make any changes now. Because if they did then they’d have to admit that they made a mistake when first picking the team.

Fakhar is in the reserves, so he’s probably the only one that could still get in.

Last year Malik, Hafeez and Wahab were in the KPK team for some reason with Abdul Razzaq as coach when they won the National T20.

This year they're all in CP who finished last year if I recall.

I stil think they need an extra batter instead of a pacer.

Okay. All eyes but IK's eyes then.

Central Punjab won the toss and elected to field at Pindi Cricket Stadium

No hafeez as well...actually looking at Punjabs side it looks very unbalanced for sure.

Babar is even worse than Misbah. For some reason Babar hates younger players but has sever obsession with older players.

Muhammad Haris and Abdullah Shafiq were part of ODI squad and not good enough to play t20 local matches

Ahmed Shehzad and then people wonder what's wrong. Absolutely brain dead selection.

This especially after Abdullah carried CP last year till Babar came in the later half.

Wonder if Babar is going to get a call from Ramiz for dropping Abdullah, who is 21 and was their highest run-scorer last year.

Razzaq has played with Ahmed Shehzad

Samjo bhai

They need to get these youngsters, who are warming the bench for CP, to play for Balochistan or send oldies like Malik and Hafeez there.

Is this guy Musadiq brother of Iftikhar? Stark similarities between the two and they both have the same surname as well "Ahmed"

Amazing catch

KP reach a very impressive 187/5 (20), thanks in the main to Mohammad Rizwan's 65 (40) and an excellent contribution by Iftikhar Ahmed 40 (25), with Hassan Ali 3/30 the standout bowler for Central Punjab

Fixer Akmal goes. On a serious note this is exactly what is wrong with our cricket 2 guys selected to play for Pakistan but are not good enough to play this tournament. Both decent talents too. But here we have 40 year old uncles playing.

Babar's upper cut kind of shot to Shaheen for a 6 was freakish

Ball was clearly missing the stumps.

Watch the match, before writing the comment.

It was inconclusive given the lack of ball-tracking but the next ball he should have been caught out.

Ok, I respect your judgement but IMO it was clearly going outside.

Second one was a very good ball though.

This Akhlaq guy is a a keeper surely drop kami and put abdullah in he cant do any worse

Tariq Saeed seems to be a very good knowledgable commentator.
Is very articulate, well uptodate with domestic & international cricket unlike other, and Clear listenable voice for Urdu Commentator.
He corrected Sana mir many times during the commentary like when she said in last his last match IK snr took 5 Wickets vs Aus in Sydney, He replied whole Pakistan team were not able take 5 Wickets in match.
He also said he was very surprised at the exclusion of Abdullah Shafiq and how Faheem is not with hitting.
He seems to have more common sense and game awareness than the whole bunch of Coaches at CP Camp.

Agreed. He seems more knowledgeable then these so called coaches. Last year he embarrassed azhar regarding asad shafiq

What a treat

Mohammad Rizwan struck a sparkling half-century and Iftikhar Ahmed hit a quick-fire 40 not out as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa began their National T20 title defence with 36 runs victory over Home City Central Punjab in a match produced by the PCB and televised on PTV Sports.

Rizwan slapped seven fours and a six in a 40-ball 65, while Iftikhar’s 25-ball 40 included six fours and a six that helped the defending champions to collect 187 for five in 20 overs after being put into bat on Thursday evening.

Needing a positive and solid to stay in contention, Central Punjab lost Kamran Akmal (three) in the fourth over to Imran Khan Snr, Babar Azam (29) in the seventh over to Asif Afridi and Ahmed Shehzad (24) to Arshad Iqbal in the 10th over to slip to 71 for three at the halfway stage before finishing at 151 for nine.

Muhammad Akhlaq fought a lone battle with a breezy 62, but lacked the support and big-hitting from the other end as the required run-rate continued to climb. When he eventually departed at the total of 128 in the 17th, it was all over for Central Punjab who ultimately fell 36 runs short.

Akhlaq’s 35-ball cameo included six fours and four sixes.

For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shaheen Shah Afridi was the pick of bowlers with three for 25, while Arshad Iqbal and Imran Khan claimed two wickets apiece.

Earlier, Fakhar Zaman (26) and Rizwan provided Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a solid 67-run start before Adil Amin (18) and Rizwan stitched up a 45-run partnership for the second wicket. Iftikhar then featured in two useful stands – 39 runs for the fourth wicket with Sahibzada Farhan (12) and an unbroken 29 for the sixth wicket with Mohammad Wasim (11 not out) as the reigning champions added 91 runs in the last 10 overs to finish at 187 for five.

For Central Punjab, Hasan Ali was as impressive as ever with three for 30, while Ahmed Safi Abdulllah and Wahab Riaz picked up a wicket each conceding 23 and 31 runs, respectively.

Scores in Brief:

He is Babar's Cousin. Ye ghre to ghr ki baat hai, outside family kisi ko dakhel nhi dena chahiye.

PCB is such a pathetic board. There is no concept of player development

They keep on changing regional coaches every year, it disrupts the development of youngsters
