Brilliant batting from Mohammad Hafeez. He made sure Lahore get a good chunk of plus NRR.

"Hafeez played a cool head here" - Waqar Younis.

Hafeez and Dunk shown it was not that bad of a pitch. poor application of QG batsmen. It was at least a 140 odd pitch.

M Hasnain is the worse bowler I hve ever seen hes Wahab Riaz 2.0.

We overrate our bowlers. We have Shaheen who is decent to start in any team in the world. However, the only worldclass bowler we hve currently is Naseem.

Hasnain, Musa and few others have a long way to go to work on lengths

Said it a few weeks ago. He is Mohammad Sami 2.0.

A lot of pace but no bowling intelligence. He will never make it in Test cricket.

According to the table after this match;Multan, Karachi & Peshawar should go through,so only 1 slot is vacant. Who'll it be? Islamabad and Quetta have very few matches left, and if Lahore can manage to win 4/5, they can get in playoffs

Lahore Qalandars need to win all their remaining games to qualify straight forward without calculation the equations of NRR and washed out games 1 point.

11.5 overs 100 runs for 2 wickets. Was it as difficult a wicket as QG made it out to be? I dont think so

Quetta struggling big time in the tournament here. It´ll take quite a lot of effort on their part to make a comeback in the tournament. Still though, given Lahore´s iffy batting, all that they required to make a match out of it was at least a 135-ish score. A required run-rate above six on that wicket wouldn´t have been easy for any team I suppose.

Lahore Qalandars’ Samit Patel recorded his best bowling figures in T20 cricket against Quetta Gladiators to help his side to their second win of the HBL PSL 2020 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.

The left-arm orthodox returned four for five in four overs, which also included a maiden, in Qalandars’ eight-wicket win.

Patel’s all four wickets came inside the Powerplay as Gladiators reeled at 21 for six by the end of the sixth over.

Gladiators managed 98 for nine in 20 overs and that their bowlers had something to bowl at was due to Sohail Khan’s 35-ball 32. He hit two sixes and two fours and crafted a 34-run partnership with Zahid Mehmood, who made run-a-ball 19.

Qalandars’ chased down the target with 49 balls spare with Mohammad Hafeez (39 off 32) and Ben Dunk (30 off 21) taking them over the line.

Their innings got impetus in the second over as Fakhar Zaman (20 off 13) smashed Mohammad Hasnain for three fours and a six.

Mohammad Nawaz was the only bowler to take wickets in the run-chase as the left-arm orthodox accounted for the wickets of Fakhar and Sohail Akhtar (five off five).

For his match-winning effort, Patel was named man of the match.

On Super Sunday, the much-anticipated contest of the season – Lahore Qalandars v Karachi Kings – will be held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium at 7pm.

Earlier in the afternoon (2pm), Islamabad United will host Multan Sultans at the Pindi Cricket Ground.

Scores in brief

Quetta Gladiators 98-9, 20 overs (Sohail Khan 32; Samit Patel 4-5, Shaheen Afridi 2-20, Raja Farzan 2-24)

Lahore Qalandars 100-2, 11.5 overs (Mohammad Hafeez 39 not out, Ben Dunk 30 not out, Fakhar Zaman 20; Mohammad Nawaz 2-9)

Result Lahore Qalandars win by eight wickets

Sarfraz should be binned. Such a rubbish batsmen. Can't belive selfie boy is still playing along with nawaz. Always a pleasure to see barking clown lose.

This is a great example of having a genuine home and away system in the PSL. For lesser teams, you should be able to tailor your home pitch according to the strengths of your squad. It make a team as poor as LQ effective in home conditions. But because teams don't have a fixed home ground, the lesser teams stop having a competitive advantage.

Lessons for the PSL next season. Need atleast 6 distinct venues for the teams

Zafar Gohar bowled well today, why IU were keeping him at the bench so far ?
