LQ are not aggressive they are suicidal and Baz needs to be dropped and out. It is clear that with players like Umar Akmal, Sohail Kha, Cameron Delport they cannot play the brand of Cricket which Baz is suggesting.

Drop Baz!!!

Don't blame Baz, Umar Akmal, Delport and Sohail are more than capable hitters of the cricket ball. This is the kind of cricket Pakistan need to embrace to move forward in ODI and T20
 
100% agree he is a bad captain n a very bad player but its not all his fault that horrendous shot by fakhar was the deciding factor it was downhill after that.
who will replace him?

Umar Akmal is just swinging from the hips and needs to be told off.
 
LQ were 132/3 requiring 10 runs an over in the last five, i would blame squad depth rather than anyone's captaincy style, had shezad not taken that brilliant catch we would all be lauding another fine Fakhar innings. Typical pakistani over reaction.

McCullum was a brilliant captain for NZ. Sure he's not done well so far in the PSL but I have no doubt he will come good this season.
 
I think its worked for some young players to go out and express themselves. Doesn't bode well for the franchise, but look at how Fakhar Zaman has jumped leaped and bounds as a batsman.

He credited Baz Mccullum's aggression as one of the reasons for improvement in his game.

Baz's problem is he is not a great bowling captain. His team has consistently leaked the highest amount of runs in t20 cricket, always conceding the high 100s and conceded 200 even twice in PSL.
 
As as much as I want Mac to be out from the squad, it was Fakhars fault today. If he just stayed in he could’ve easily got Lahore to the finishing line.
 
Mccullum is a great captain for our young batsman. He is not afraid to give them confidence. He remind be a bad captain for Lahore. First Fakhar and now Sohail Akhtar look like an impressive talent.

Just watch Shadab Khans interview prior to playing in the BBL, our 2 best player finds in recent times credit some of their success to Baz. so not all is lost..
 
LQ is such a bad team and Aqib Javed is the worst coach. Sitting on TV all year talking about what they have done. Poor captaincy and playing XI. They deserve to lose.
 
Give FZ the captaincy.... and find some lower order batsmen. It's as if as soon as FZ left there was no more batting to follow.

PSL in the end about producing talent for Pakistan. Mccullum is not afraid to put the batsmen in a situation so that they grow and become better during this whole process of the tournament

Lynn for delport makes such a huge difference.

Just watch how he plays next game. LQ batsmen are never responsible since psl1. Any batting lineup contains UA is always vulnerable.
 
Lahore invest poorly. And have a poor planing staff. They desperately need a fast bowler to excel in this tournament. Fiz is available only for couple of more games.

With Umar Akmal as wk they are giving away 5-10 extra runs too , that's quite a lot in T20 perspective.

If he is going to slog at everything then he should open, that way he might succeed with field restrictions.

This middle/lower order is hopeless. Too many hit or miss players.

Narine has been used to good effect as an opener during the IPL,CPL and at time BBL. I can probably tell you know he is better than most Pakistani front line batters at hitting the ball.

Agreed!! but todays LQ failure is on UA and delport. Especially UA, how many times he got start and throws away without realizing and having a thought of taking the team over the line. Useless cricketer!!

LQ is going no where this psl also.. I am excited for Multan, good addition for psl looking like a very composed team.

Yes, the squad selection is quite poor. Too many similar sort of players. What would you do with 3 of them Sohail, Bilawal, Imran.....none of them efficient in T20s?

Too many specialist spinners in the playing XI also.

If anything LQ need to change their coaching staff.

Fakhar could have also stayed a bit longer. UA has never been dependable and that is very much established. Delport is woefully out of touch. As i said earlier this franchise is making mistakes at planning/strategy level. Too may voids in the squad.
Multan on the other hand have two very good cricketing brains in Wasim and Moody. And have covered most of their key bases. Although they also have a weak lower order but in T20s top 4/5 players are the key.
 
Everyone is blaming FZ for the loss even he had the highest score with 2nd highest SR. And how on earth was he supposed to know they would lose 7 WICKETS FOR 4 RUNS!!! Nobody blames Cameron or Aamer even though they couldn't even pass 3 runs! And even though they were tailenders even for there standards it's bad to fail to put a single run on the board!!
 
Imran Tahir was just brilliant, his variations are one of the best for a Limited overs spinner and our players probably don't get to face this quality very often in domestic cricket. His quick wickets were the turning point of the match.
 
BMac had an awful BBL and not the best of starts for him at the PSL either.

Pressure building.
 
Haha typical Pakistani reaction haha. The butterfly effect is always in full effect in Pakistan and among Pakistani people abroad.

IF Lahore had won. The same people would of opened threads about baz is perfect and plays aggressive cricket and is positive and modern blah blahS

Some would go to the extent to make him batting coach to change our mindset.

I believe there are infinite number of universes and in one of them Lahore would of won and everything I just said is happening. All praise to science.
 
Lahore need to move on from their whole batting except Fakhar.

Their batting is all or bust and so are prone to collapsing. They need someone who can hold the innings together if the situation requires.
 
Lahore's biggest mistake was not drafting a good Pakistani captain when they had the chance. Left it till late, then chose Azhar as a left over pick.

Mcullum can't communicate and strategise with his players as well as say Sarfraz, Malik, Misbah etc. as he can't speak the language. He is also more alien to the conditions, given he's from NZ.

Sammy gets away with it as he knows how to win a world cup T20, conditions are more similar to WI. And his team has a lot of Pakistani seniors to help form the backbone.

Lahore have other problems no doubt, but captaincy is a big issue. It's little wonder why all the rest of the teams pretty much got their captain down in their first pick.
 
I like this suicidal approach, it is entertaining. They just need to select an extra batsman in place of Raza Hasan. Our national team should follow the same approach in ODI and T20I cricket, if they wanna match the modern standards.

The most overrated captain and batsman in recent times.

Just because he set ridiculous fielding after every 2 overs does not make him a great captain.
 
Its a complete 180 from what our cuttlefish players are used to, it will have growing pains, but pay dividends if it works later on, Baz is an excellent leader and mentor for the youth and performed with the bat today, this thread is absolutely ridiculous
 
Good captain but as a player he's finished. Surpised he was selected for the IPL this year as well.
 
BMac needs to be dropped as Captain and Umar Akmal dropped as a a player!
 
They need to move on from Umar Akmal. The guy had the perfect opportunity today to see his team home. The platform was set, the RR was beyond comfortable but nah.

His supposed agressive captaincy is overrated. It seems anything agressive sells among fans. Lahore needs to sack him and appoint someone young who could lead them for many years. Kinda like Rohit Sharma have been for Mumbai Indians.
 
McCullum is not working as captain. I think he can play as a specialist batsman for one more season. Qalandars and Zalmi need to swap Fakhar/Hafeez and Haris/Umar.

Captain of Qalandars is Hafeez’s rightful place in the PSL. It would probably have happened in season 1 but they made the blunder of picking Azhar and giving him the captaincy. Haris and Hafeez can hold their batting together at 3 and 4.

Fakhar looks out of place in Qalandars. He belongs to Zalmi, it is his team. Moreover, Umar will be a better fit than Haris for the number 5 position in Zalmi.

It is a win-win situation for both teams.

Baz is a fantastic player and had a decent BBL. But I guess as a player there is a certain time when things don't work for you and Baz probably is reaching that stage in his career. He can probably move into coaching roles or move on to a career behind the mic. And as far as Umar Akmal goes, he seems to be a lost case, I don't think anyone who has been around at the highest stage for 10 years needs to be told how to play. If that is what he requires, then he should stop playing competitive cricket.
 
Mccullam is not the problem, the players are just not clicking.

Please explain what is the benefit of appointing Hafeez as a captain of LQ? :13:

I will refrain from using the word TTF because he is not but he is clearly past his best, no longer has any future in LOI and was never even a good T20 player anyway.

Hafeez is a safe and reliable option in the short term. He can play in the PSL for another 2-3 years.

He is a good captain and can hold their batting together in the middle overs with his selfish approach.

I do believe that he will make Qalandars better. The other option is to make Zaman captain, but he needs to play for Zalmi.

Numerous times, in the IPL, BPL, BBL etc. It started out as an experiment but he's gotten so good that he is a fixed opener for many teams.
 
He is not the problem.In fact he scored decently in 2 matches.Other batsmans need to step up.I would try umar instead of sunil at opening. He might do well there. Hoping for the best!
 
@OP McCullum is the best option any team can have
They need to get rid of :-
a) Aqib Javed (in the words of IK, he is complete Phateechar)
B) Atiq u zaman (can't believe he is fielding coach)
C) Akhtar (will just do talking and nothing else)
D) Inzamam-ul-Haq (maybe if it was ODI or test league it would have been ok, inzi isn't needed in T20s)
E) other Pakistani guy, cant remember his name

Only guy who is fit enough to have some coaching job is kyle mills, rest are useless.

There have been lot's of reports that Fawad Rana is meddling too much into team affairs and even selects the team, he needs to stop that and stay away completely from the team and only come to watch match in VIP box.

Give this same team Mickey Arthur and Azhar Mahmood and you will see them as the best team in tournament.

Lets take an eg (only eg not comparison)

Lets look at recent Australian T20 team, they have no accumulator at all maybe except Warner lol
And lets say Fakhar is playing Warner in LQ and just like Aus all other batsmen are what we call here HACKS and see the recent results of Aus T20I team.

The team is fine it's just those mental midgets in Coaching camp

Fakhar Zaman is the perfect choice. He's a guaranteed starter in both Pakistan's LOs teams and LQ's, has captaincy experience, and has at least 5-6 years of good cricket left in him.
 
Fakhar should take over. He would invest and back Pakistan players more than Bmac. Plus he is regualry playing international cricket. Baz is finished as a player.

Nah, it was several hours after the game.

This was Baz's highest score in PSL. I think his next highest is like 31...
 
Narine was the logical choice .
Poor move to not use him in the super over.
 
Sunil Narine is the dream bowler, not a dream bowler, THE dream bowler in this situation, absolutely suicidal from Baz
 
Qalandars gave the game on a platter to Islamabad.

So many childish mistakes. Also Narine should have bowled the final over. West Indians are so good under pressure.
 
This has nothing to do with Mccullum, Russel said the ball was not gripping for the spinners after the first innings in which Yasir Shah bowled well.

This is only down to Lahore's crap batting... and how the lineup full of '********' young Pakistani batsman fails everytime. Even so that a 120 is difficult for you to chase.

A 40 year old who never bats slowly showed how easy it would've been had just one of them stayed on and be calm like him.

It's not about coaches. Players need to take responsibility as well which they certainly haven't.

Batting has been crap, it is well understood but I think McCulum also made a mistake running on 2nd ball of the final over.

It has been alot of mistakes actually in the game, a lot of batsmen got out so cheaply, this shouldn't have been a close game at all. Agha Salman was the only bright light.

The guy who hit the six to Sami in the last over, had 1 run and 3 balls, and the only thing he managed to do was get bounced out. If he had evaded that delivery it might've been a wide, or a dot ball.

Qalandars only had a run a ball to get out how can they panic and choke despite being in the driving seat for most of the game with Mccullum at the other end in shock

You can't blame a very young number 10 ,playing his first high profile game to do well against an express bowler in such a pressure situation. He neither has the skill or experience for that.
On the other hand McCullum has loads of experience and skill as well, he should have not gone for that single, by taking single he was expecting the newbie to do the needful which was not sensible.
