Lahore Qalandars tour of Australia

Why are they playing against expatriates??? not a sinle players is native

The Thunder Nation Cup is a tournament in which teams of expatriates compete. For example, there'll be a team of Pakistanis, a team of Indians, a team of Sri Lankans etc. This team they played against was a team of the best 11 players from that tournament. They are all fairly decent cricketers. They'll be playing the Thunder Academy side on Tuesday, which should have natives

neede more batsmen to play on australian pitches. and more aal rounders y taking so many spinners their its total crap.. batsmen need more practise.

Good to see Tabrayz Ahmad among the runs. I thought he was the best batsman in the talent hunt tournament.

Ellipsism Any insights into his batting from first match ?
No comment currently. I will try to do a write up on every player, if I have time by Monday.

Here at Sydney University Oval today. I'm quite impressed by Ehtisham just bowled a batsman with a ripper and is bowling with good pace.

How's ehtisham speed and swing? Which bowler impressed you?
I'm no expert on speed but he looks to be bowling in the 135-140 KPH range with the effort delivery crossing the 140 mark, but he may be quicker. Swings not his strong point, he gets good bounce at pace.

Look Ehtisham has impressed me the most but Irfan and Riaz are also good quickies. I saw Jan bowling in the nets and honestly he didn't look that impressive.

These Sydney Uni guys are so incompetent against spin. Ghulam Rubbani with his 3rd.

Qalandars win their 3rd consecutive game on tour beating Sydney Uni Crick Club in 7 overs finishing with 79/2.

Qalandars arrive at Pratten Park with an unbeaten record on tour so far, here comes the big one against @ThunderBBL

Match update :
In the #AcademyTriSeries opener; ThunderBBL won the toss and chose to bat at Pratten Park Sydney.

Would be surprised if Qalandars don't win this edition, actually, they should be disappointed if they don't win it.

Pre-tournament tour, conditioning camps at home, they're putting in a lot more than the other teams, which is good for the players obviously.

The other academy sides have been playing all winter and have a few players who feature for the main sides.

Just out of curiosity, what is the purpose of this tour? Why would the Qalandar Franchise owners want their team and squad of players to tour and play in Australia whereas the PSL is only going to be held in the UAE and Sub Continent conditions?

This team is composed of street players. Two players which were Muhammad Irfan and Saif Bacar were picked from the trials in the main squad.

They are playing against Sydney Thunders Academy side

We are already 1 down in the space of the first two overs :(

13/1 after the first couple of overs

14 required from each over in he last 12 deliveries.....

Please don't choke !! Please !!

Ghulam Rubbani has to be blamed here. Ehtisham bowling well again, has easily been the best bowler on the tour thus far.

Quite disaapointing to see him on the bench. If you can't give him games there, then where? Strange.
He is definitely not the best bowler in the squad.

Sultan, Irfan and Riaz are currently better bowlers than Jan.

Disappointing to see Badar fail match after match. Perhaps he needs a bit more grooming and development.

He's so frustrating to watch. Hits an oozing cover drive and then next delivery does an Umar Akmal.

Ameer Hamza.

Saif Badar has been a mega flop.

Not a big deal. Badar is younger than all of them and far from a finished product. But his ceiling is perhaps the highest amongst the lot though there are quite a few talented batsmen on that lineup.

Meh, I'm not too impressed by Badar. He doesn't have a brain, a poor mans Akmal, currently. Though he has time.

Ellipsism what are ur opinions on saadullah, Ameer hamza and tabraiz? Plz in detail regarding shot range, potential and can they play for pak in future??

Saadullah is mediocre, don't think he's international quality though. Can become a decent slogger if he works on his application, but otherwise I don't see him playing international or much domestic cricket.

Ameer Hamza has been arguably the best batsman on tour thus far. He isn't as talented as some of the other guys but he's a work horse and a gritty batsman. He will need to work on his technique to play International cricket.

Tabraiz is stylish he has his moments but has an Umar Akmal-esque brain. Throws all his hard work away.

If I'm going to be completely honest the only players that I think have the potential to play for Pakistan are:
Ehtisham
Riaz
Irfan
Jan
Qadir
Badar
Hamza

The rest are decent and could work on their batting and burst onto the scene, but that's just my opinion.

#Qalandars play against sixersBBL. Stay tuned for match updates. Toss at 9 AM PST.

After winning the toss, #Qalandars put the sixersBBL in for a bat.

Latest score : SixersBBL are 61/3 at the half way stage of the innings. Quality cricket in progress.

Ellipsism what happened to the pics?

116/9. Six balls remaining.

Qalandars have got this in the bag I reckon.

Another wicket... 2 runs needed off 3. Don't understand why the guy was caught at deep midwicket with 2 needed off 4. Stupid cricket

I thought Saif Badar was an all-rounder, who bowls leggi, but seems like he is playing as a specialist bat.
